“ nope ! ” his tone is much too chipper for someone who had the lookout night shift. “ just switched out with rubes so my schedule is lookin’ pretty clear right about now… ” he’d be lying if he said that he didn’t get a kick out of getting under violet’s skin. she made it too easy, honestly. “ besides, i can tell by how enthusiastic you are to see me that you won’t mind me hangin’ out with you for a bit. ”

beauty is hardly the docile, bite-her-tongue type of woman, but even that can prove to be dangerous on the streets of new york city. it’s especially bad with the mundies who have far more confidence than they know what to do with, so it really should’ve come as no surprise that the catcaller she’d snapped and bared her teeth at didn’t take too kindly to it.
“don’t be like that, sweetheart!” he croons, and beauty bristles. she’s about to snap back when she feels someone suddenly lock arms with her and glide away, pulling her in tow.
beauty nearly stumbles in her heels as she adjusts, letting out a huff before her eyes shift to lock onto megara’s profile.
“ remind me why men are so disgusting ? ” she grimaces, rolling her deep blue eyes exaggeratedly. “ mundies especially. ” there’s a brief pause, and then— “ ... and thanks, by the way. that probably would’ve ended poorly. ”
