          her  fingers  flex  and  regrip  against  his  shoulders  as  she  peers  up  at  him.  they’re  dancing.  or,  they’re  trying  to  but  ruby  has  the  sneaking  suspicion  that  aasim  would  rather  be  doing  anything  but.

            there’s  a  brief  pause  before  she’s  raising  an  eyebrow  and  asking,  “ or  is  that  your  round  about  way  of  tellin’  me  that  you  don’t  want  to  dance  with  me ? ”  her  tone  is  accusatory,  but  she  won’t  stop  him  if  he  really  doesn’t  want  to  do  this.

          louis  peers  at  him  with  a  risen  brow.  ‘fun’  with  mitch  could  be  questionable  at  times.  and  judging  by  the  firecrackers  louis  spots  in  mitch’s  hands,  he  doubts  that  it’ll  be  the  kind  of  fun  that  everyone  can  enjoy.

          “ fun  for  who,  exactly ? ”  he  asks,  hands  perching  on  his  hips.  and  after  a  brief  pause,  he  adds,  “ don’t  tell  me  you’re  gonna  go  throw  those  at  someone’s  house— ”

          it’s  already  late  and  louis  is  tired  and  doesn’t  feel  like  dealing  with  the  potential  consequences  of  being  caught.  and  he  has  a  feeling  that  he’d  face  a  harsher  punishment  than  his  counterpart,  anyway.
