Karlheinz: Something about you humans and being insistent on braiding, stroking, or combing long hair never ceases to baffle me. You all have an obsession with mine, particularly. 

I'm pretty sure I would have the same reaction had I watched the movie first...

Since I read the series and then watched the movie, I was gifted with Miyazaki-San's stunning, sweetheart Howl and Hisaishi-san's wonderful ethereal music.

Howl no Ugoku Shiro was definitely worth both reading the books and watching.(Though Diana's Howl is a major jerk and douche)

Diana wynne's Writing is absolutely fantastic to read!

I would recommend reading both castle in the air and house of many ways after the first book.
