Shuri x Black!fem!reader

I wrote this after writing some not so fluffy stuff so its very short but I’m just practicing at this point. I also attempted to write hbcu shuri but it’s sort of out my experience so I’m debating posting that. 🤧🤧

It was 6:30am and Shuri had been due at the lab almost everyday now. With Wakanda in its current state, Shuri was definitely needed which meant that she couldn’t enjoy mornings with you like this unfortunately. You had tried to be understanding of how important she was to everyone but this morning you just weren’t having it. Shuri tried to wiggle out of your embrace which hurt her to do every morning but this time you had held on tighter to her waist and mumbled out a little “Noo.”

Shuri immediately crumbled and turned around to face you. “Usana, you know I have to go. I’m needed today.” She said, holding your sleepy face in her hand. “You’re needed everyday.” You said, barely keeping your eyes open or making sense. Luckily, Shuri has heard enough of your sleepy talk to become an expert in it. “I know.” She said in a sympathetic tone. Even from your lidded eyes, you could see the frown on her face and how worried she was. You reached up to swipe your thumb between her eyebrows, smoothing out the furrow between her brows and gave her a small peck on her lips before looking at her like you were memorizing her. This caused Shuri’s face to soften as she grabbed your hand and intertwined your fingers. “I’ll be back before you’re asleep. I promise.” She said softly.

“I know. Go.” You said in the same tone. Shuri nodded a bit before you grabbed her arm, dragged her back, and hugged her tight. Shuri let out a small sound of surprise before hugging you back with the same tightness and pulling back to give you an actual kiss this time. “Now, go back to sleep.” She said lightly as she tucked you back into bed and gave you a kiss at the top of your head, smiling at your sleepy wide grin. “I love you.” was the last thing she heard before she turned around to see you knocked out. “I love you too.” Shuri whispered as she got up. She was definitely going to make it back in time tonight. She promised.

i gotta figure out how to write angst with no fluff again i got 200 words into an angsty fic and dipped

best believe i will be waiting for all the edits and fics when bpwf comes out on disney plus we got 19 days left 🤭🤭
