You mentioned identifying with the message your bias puts out. Obviously Yoongi and Namjoon's messages are the ones most clearly heard by fans, but what messages do you think the others put out that draws people to them?

jimin draws in people who believe they lack beauty. 

message: “look at me in a positive light”

jin draws in people who believe they lack true happiness.

message: “i’m doing great”

hobi draws in people who believe they lack power.

message: “i’ve got the charisma & strength to do it”

tae draws in people who believe they lack uniqueness.

message: “my value is distinction”

jk draws in people who believe they lack security.

message: “i can defend myself and stabilize fear”

and for the sake of completeness, as mentioned:

yoongi draws in people who believe they lack success.

message: “i do my thing and win: against all odds”

rm draws in people who believe they lack an esteemed identity.

as i see it, the whole thing happens without people realizing they do possess what their bias has. all while their favorite themselves sees power, uniqueness and so on as a struggle point. so both think they don’t have it, but they ironically do, which is literally the best interpersonal glue you can have. it mirrors back and forth. 

it doesn’t matter which message is the most heard, how many people have the same struggle is more important. which is why rm and yoongi are not the most popular members despite putting their mentality out there a lot. much more fans identify with say wanting to be attractive in the eyes of others, or finding a way out of anxiety, so e.g. Jimin and JK tend to garner quite a bunch of people. the whole popularity thing is not about which member is better, but which member has the most relatable challenge in their life.
