Hey guys, I was reached out to by my friend Siraj @siraj2024 to share his story and shed some light on his situation

Please listen, do not scroll away.

Siraj used to live in Northern Gaza with his family of five, including his wife and three children. He had painstakingly built the family house over ten years, going into debt so that he could provide a beautiful home for his family. But when the occupational forces declared war on Gaza, the area where he had built this home was one of the first areas to get invaded and destroyed by the tanks and bomb shells.

This is the state of their family's beloved home now:

Hey Guys, I Was Reached Out To By My Friend Siraj @siraj2024 To Share His Story And Shed Some Light On

Since large portions of their home was destroyed and they were forced to flee from the violence, Siraj's family has been displaced six times in the months that followed.

Siraj has described to me that living out of these tents has been like living in a convection oven under the current heat wave, and full of disease ridden pests.

His children, who should have been in school and playing with other kids their age, instead have to worry about if they'll have enough water for the day and how they will carry it over long distances. They have to stand long queues just to fill their buckets and even then, the water is so polluted that they have to risk serious illnesses like hepatitis when they drink it anyway, for the sake of their survival.

They have lost an entire year, along with a lot of hopes and dreams, to this genocide that they will never get back.

The gravity of their situation cannot be understated. They do not have access to clean water. They do not have access to basic medical care and hygiene products.

There is no safe place left in Gaza. They are constantly living under the threat of violence from the IOF, illness and starvation.

The funds collected from this gfm will go into reconstruction of their home, as well as providing for the family's basic needs during this troubling time.

Please support Siraj and his family to rebuild his home, educate their children, and meet their needs.

This is kind of an apology for the delay of Lion’s Light— (LMK S5 SPOILERS BELOW THE CUT.)

This AMV is a new AU of mine called “The Serpent’s Son”! BASICALLY—

Instead of sending him away after waking him up, the Nine-Headed Demon hides MK away and plans to raise him for the day where he must make his decision to sacrifice himself to continue the Great Cycle or let this world fall into ruin.

However, as time slowly ticks by, the demon begins to genuinely start caring for the boy. Maybe a little too much. At first, he just snuck out of the Underworld more often to spend more quality time with MK. Then, suddenly, he’s teaching the boy to call him “father”. And somehow he’s not opposed to the vision.

He is the boy’s father. He raised him up in a world that just wanted to put him in a cage and force him to sacrifice himself for a realm of ungrateful beings.

The boy is his son.

And anyone who dared to oppose to such a notion would die. That simple.

…Then, as if fate itself was mocking him, the boy is taken from right under his nose just before he was to turn six years old.

Locked back into fate’s cage.

Unable to find his son and pressured into keeping up his facade as one of the Ten Kings of Diyu, the Nine-Headed Demon reluctantly returns to his act full time.

Fourteen years later, fate decides he’s had enough waiting in the dark and allows him to find out where his boy is. Only to find that now he has a new family. New friends.

That just won’t do.

Zeus, slamming the metaphorical door into the Underworld open: HADES YOU MOTHERFUCKER

Hades: Hello, Zeus.

Zeus: DON'T YOU "Hello, Zeus." ME YOU FUCK. WHAT HAPPENED TO KEEPING OUR FATHER CONTAINED!?

Hades: [Checks]

Hades: He's still there-

Zeus: NO THE FUCK HE AIN'T! HE ADOPTED SOME KID A BLINK AGO HOW CAN HE DO THAT IF HE'S CONTAINED!?

Hades: [Double checks]

Hades: Oh, huh. Never noticed his spirit wasn't there.

Zeus: YOU HAD ONE JOB HADES! ONE! JOB!

Hades: A job which covers an- get your finger out my face you absolute child.

Hades: Why're you even upset anyway? He hasn't come back to usurp you or anything.

Zeus: He didn't eat his new kid.

Hades:

Hades: Hm.

===

Danny: You know, I have an inexplicable sense of danger right about now.

Billy: Scale of 1-10?

Danny: Solid 100.

Billy:

Billy: Sh-Should I be concerned...?

Danny: Naaaaah. I'll be fine.

A beat.

Danny: Probably.

I feel like another reason people hate Rose is that they feel that she left all her problems to Steven and while she DID leave Bismuth trapped, Pearl in her vow of silence and not tell anyone about Spinel , it was like a few thousands years of peace on Earth , she didn't know the Cluster even existed! As far as she knows Earth has no Home world/Diamond activity in a few millennia and the home world warps were destroyed , they were completely cut off to her knowledge , Earth was safe! Rose had no idea of the things Steven would go through besides Bismuth because she clearly intended for Steven to find her, she had no idea any of the other stuff with the diamonds and homeworld was going to happen.

Rose left Steven to eventually find Bismuth after her death and eventually he found out about Pearls vow of silence and her past self and the thing about Rose is that she already went through her journey and we never see it , we see the end first then the beginning , we never see her journey only the end and she's gone. Her journey ended when Steven's began and now people are left blaming her and screaming at her grave about her sins and the things their blaming her for without looking at what good she did and how she tried to change.

I was thinking about why Rose Quartz/Pink Diamond is so hated.

The obvious answer is because of the horrible things she did.

image

But the other diamonds did horrible things too…worse things even.

Pink abandoned Spinel, which is wrong, but Spinel was planning to kill every living thing on Earth to spite the son of a person who was no longer even alive. Yet, no one talks about what a monster Spinel is.

So many Steven Universe characters have hurt people, but we forgive them and are happy to see them redeemed.

So why not Rose?

Then, it hit me: because Rose’s redemption arc is told to us in reverse.

The first time we see Rose is toward the end of her life when she is pregnant with Steven. We see her appreciation for life and how full of love she is for Greg and her future child. She’s willingly sacrificing herself to bring a new life into the world.

image

But then, we start learning who Rose used to be, all her mistakes, all the people she hurt.

The loving mother in Steven’s video becomes a distant memory.

For those of you who hate Rose, imagine her backstory unfolded a little differently for us.

We’re introduced to Pink Diamond: she’s spoiled, bratty, immature, irresponsible, and inconsiderate.

She throws temper tantrums when she doesn’t get her way.

image

Not exactly an endearing character, right?

But one day, her tantrum injure Pink Pearl, her best friend. From that day on, she keeps everything to herself. Now we see her dealing with a consequence of her bad behavior.

Then we see how she’s abused by the other diamonds. We start to sympathize with her.

image

We see her try to save Earth. We see her trying to do the right thing for once.

But it backfires horribly.

image

She spends the rest of her life trying to fix it, but she can’t.

She meets Greg. Here is where Rose has the most emotional growth as a character. She learns what is truly means to be a “real person.”

Finally, she grows such an appreciation for human life, that she decides to sacrifice her form to bring her son into the world.

image

The reason Rose is so much more controversial than other characters who have done problematic things is because her story is told in reverse, her redemption comes across as a fall from grace.

But there are plenty of characters who have a fall from grace who are still not as controversial as Rose. The reason why many people are less sympathetic to Rose is because we never see how Rose reacts to her mistakes. We never get much insight into how Rose feels about herself and the things she’s done. We get small hints:

image
image

For everyone who hates Rose, I get why. But I think we need to remember who she became instead of who she was.
