Your Saturday mornings usually started at sunrise- your alarm ringing and the birds chirping outside. Not with soft snores against the side of your face and a vice grip on your waist. But here you are.

You should’ve known something was off from the moment you woke up refreshed. Every night for the past few weeks were plagued with vivid nightmares and hours spent staring at the ceiling, your mind chanting, no, begging for you to sleep, but the fear of nightmares overriding your mind’s cries. And so you usually would wake up feeling restless and exhausted- both emotionally and physically. But today isn’t like that. Stirring into consciousness is pleasant. Your heart beat is gentle, the rhythm equivalent to the pace with which you would walk on a seaside while watching the sunset. Your muscles feel loose and your brain is humming contently, rather than its normal frantic buzz. As air freely fills your lungs with your first deep breath of the morning, you note that your weighted blanket feels heavier than usual.

But when you try to push yourself up off your back, you find it impossible to move. When your eyes glide open, you don’t see your blue fuzzy blanket draped over your body when you look down. Rather, your met with the view of a fluffy head of pink hair right below your nose. As you crane your neck to see the rest of your body, you find Itadori’s right bicep draped over your stomach, his other arm snaked underneath your back so that his left hand could come around and rest at the hem of your shirt. His legs were interwoven with yours, koala-ing your right thigh.

As you turn your head to the right in shock, the position you are in finally registers.

Your best friend, Itadori Yuuji, had you completely cuddled up against him. Hell, he was half on top of you like this.

Memories of last night - all of last night - flood your memory and a warmth starts to nip and the apples of your cheeks all the way to the tips of your ears. Itadori had pulled you against him to sleep, and you let him.

You were by no means in denial about your feelings for your best friend, but that didn’t mean you were emotionally prepared to wake up to him face first into your chest.

Isn’t he more of an ass guy anyways? The stray thought passes through your mind as you watch him nuzzle against you, his face relaxed as his nose presses into you. That kinda hurts actually. And I should… I have to get him up. We have to talk about all...this. Now.

“Yuuji…” His name softly slips through your lips, your hand delicately sweeping over his broad back. He doesn’t move. “Yuujiii~” you squeeze his shoulder, his eyebrows furrowing in response.

“Mmm…” he groans. A squeak escapes you as Yuuji squeezes you tight, constricting your breathing unintentionally.

“Yu-uji!” The situation only gets more difficult as he pulls you closer, holding onto you like you were his ticket to sleep. You sometimes forget about his monstrous strength when you look at his soft face. With your body now completely underneath his, his head rests on you as if you were a pillow.

For the sake of your own health and sanity, you grab the sides of Itadori’s face and push his head, and subsequently his body, away from yours. His cheeks were squished in your grasp, his head angled back from your attempt to create space to breathe.

“Yuuji! Wake up! Please!” You try and shake his head side to side in an effort to wake him up.

“I don’t want to.” His raspy morning voice takes you by surprise, standing in contrast to the childish whiny undertone in his remark. His eyes were squeezed shut, and despite his squished face, you could still see his pout.

“What do you mean you don’t want to?” You’re aware that asking a sleeping person a question was probably not gonna do much, but it was an impulse more than anything else.

“Don’t want the dream to end…” The way he said it was different this time. You hadn’t heard Itadori speak like this before. You’d heard him be genuine, kind, and honest many times. But this time he sounded vulnerable and a little helpless, something in his voice making it seem like he was on the verge of tears.

You don’t know why it hadn’t occurred to you before, but you were probably not the only sorcerer who had nightmares on a regular basis.

“Don’t take Y/N from me, too. Please?” He was definitely sleep-talking, and nowhere near conscious, because he definitely would not have been saying the things he was saying if he knew you were right underneath him.

He’d done you a kindness by letting you crash his bed for the night, unintentionally blessing you with a good night’s rest.

Maybe it’d be okay to let him dream for just a little while longer.

You sigh as you let go of his face, Itadori easing his way back resting against your body. But because you had pushed him back, he was no longer angled to fall onto your chest. Rather, as he eases his way to lay down once more, his face presses into your stomach. “Soft…” His hands wrap around your waist again, his torso resting in the space between your legs.

You’d be a liar if you said you didn’t love having him hug you like this.

Your hand cards through his pink locks, playing with his hair as you enjoy the sound of his soft breathing, adoring the way that it synced with yours.

This will be absolute hell when he wakes up. But for now, you can let yourself indulge in a little bit of paradise.

What time is it? Wait, what day is it? Itadori’s mind pesters him with questions just as he starts to really wake up for the day. He didn’t count that whole 6 am ordeal. I mean, he was barely awake for more than a few minutes, and didn’t really remember what all he did.

Yeah, wait. What happened at 6 am again?

Eyes flitting open, he processes the soft fabric pressed against his cheek, listening the shallow breathing as his head moves up and down at the same rate. He picks his head up and is given a shocking reminder when he’s met with the (pleasant) sight of you underneath him, sleeping peacefully.

Was he sleeping, on your stomach? Oh no no no no-

Okay, cuddling you normally was one thing, but this? This is... is...so close! There’s no excuse I could make for getting you in that position. How would he explain this?

More importantly, how would he explain this without exposing his crush on you?

He doesn’t have enough time to come with an answer before he sees you stir, stretching and breathing heavily as you wake up (for what he assumes is the first time all morning).

Instinctually, he flails and throws himself off the bed, making a loud thud as his body hits the wooden floor.

At the sound, you lurch up, turning to find the source of the sound, worry painted on your face as you lean over the bed to check on him.

“Itadori-kun, are you okay?”

He takes a few moments to regain his own composure, processing what he just did. Slowly, he responds, “Yeah, I’m uh, I’m oka-”

A series of knocks against Itadori’s door cuts him off, both your heads swiveling to stare at the door.

“Itadori, are you okay? I heard a loud noise.” Megumi’s voice is muffled by the door, but clear enough for both Itadori and you to panic.

Well shit. Things seem to have just gotten a lot more complicated.

Of First Meetings And First Crushes

☆ Aemond Targaryen ☆

There is a single, undisputable fact when it comes to your life at Hogwarts - you and Aemond go way back;

He bumped into you on your first ever ride on the Hogwarts Express. While you were discoursing with your new possible housemates, he was frantically searching for his old cat, Vhagar;

“I lost my pet. She is a Siamese cat with only one ear - answers to the name of Vhagar.” He said stiffly to the cheery group of people, and one 3d year Ravenclaw snickered in reply: “Shit, little guy, I’d run away too if my name was Vhagar.”

His group of friends immediately started laughing and it’s safe to say you didn’t like that;

After a short screaming match with the rude Ravenclaws (which you effortlessly won), you decided to help Aemond find his missing cat;

“You shouldn’t have done that.” He chastised you with a serious tone. “They could be your new housemates.”

“There is only one thing I won’t tolerate in my presence, and that is a bully!” The fire in your eyes made him smile - truly smile. “Now, let’s go find your cat.”

Vhagar ended up being in the back compartments, with all the other caged pets; she was trying to reach for your own cat with a shaky paw, but was failing miserably

Aemond grabbed her hurriedly and you made a joke that your pets should be best friends - he turned really red after seeing your wide smile;

For the rest of the train ride, you both sat together in an empty compartment - and when Aemond got hungry, you gave him one of your P&J sandwiches that you made for the trip;

“I also added chocolate chips. The secret is to add many, many chocolate chips.”

He felt really dejected when you were sorted into Gryffindor, and he in Slytherin. He thought that was the beginning of the end for your sudden friendship - but you proved him wrong when you defended him time and time again whenever anyone made a nasty comment about his hair, his height, his gloomy disposition or his “ugly” cat;

He fell in love with you very quickly: how could he not, when you were so radiant and so good to him?

Your friendship was going steady, until the end of your 1st year, when he stopped writing to you mid-summer;

You were crushed by his silence, and eventually stopped writing as well;

When you saw him on the Hogwarts Express again, you understood why he ghosted you - his left eye was covered by a black eyepatch, and a deep scar cut from his brow to his lower cheek.

A lot of drama ensued between you two: Aemond tried his hardest to push you away, but you were very determined and head-strong. Eventually, your friendship won in the face of any argument or harsh words Aemond could throw in your face;

During your 3d and 4th year, he was COMPLETELY DEVOTED to you;

He was your shadow - wherever you went, he was quick to follow.

Some students made nasty comments about it (always behind his back, of course, because Aemond had that scary presence);

When he told you about the stinging comments, you assured him that you loved hanging out with him and it would really hurt you if he stopped being near you;

Aemond.exe stopped working for 3 working days after hearing you say that - yeah, he does loves you that much, HE IS WHIPPED;

That being said, Aemond’s love language is acts of service and quality time;

He “helps” you with homework (a fancy word for “he literally does it for you even if you don’t ask him to”) and is always there when you need someone to listen and lend you a crying shoulder;

You invited him over for Christmas during your 3d year, and he was so nervous, he wore his best clothes when meeting your parents;

He looked really chill on the outside, though, and spoke really mechanically for the 1st half of the night, like he was applying for a job or something;

Little do you know he was applying to be your boyfriend EYYY–

Everyone knows you’re in love. EVERYONE. It’s really annoying to look at the two of you sometimes smh;

“JUST CONFESS AND GET IT OVER WITH PLEASE WE’RE ALL BEGGING YOU”

“Celeste, he doesn’t like me like that…”

“YES BITCH HE DOES”

He’s the main Slytherin Chaser and the Quidditch team captain;

What a surprise, omg!11!!1!

He’s not even into the sport, he just wanted to make a point that even with his missing eye, he can still do anything everyone else can - and better;

Okay, Aemond, we get it, you’re really cool;

You’re also the Gryffindor Seeker (oh-oh, athletic rivalry???) and he ALWAYS comes to your games (when he’s not directly playing against you, of course);

He won’t be cheering for you while swinging a butterbeer in the air - but he will curse the other seeker out under his breath and smirk when you catch the Golden Snitch;

Your first ever game was against the Ravenclaws, and when he came to support you wearing all silver and green, you gave him your Gryffindor scarf;

“So you can blend in with the enemy!” You beamed at him so innocently;

He gaslit you into believing he gave it back and you just lost it;

You didn’t lose it;

He stole it from you and now hides it in his trunk;

He takes it out when no one is in his dorm and sniffs it from time to time LMAO;

He bought you a new scarf from Hogsmeade, though;

Never give it to him during a game.

NEVER!

He will steal it again.

And buy you ANOTHER scarf;

And repeat the terrible cycle;

It just smells like you, okay???? It’s not his fault, now leave him alone;

When you win a game, and you’re not otherwise engaged, he celebrates with you in Hogsmeade;

He takes you to “The Empty Barrel” (literally the fanciest restaurant the little town has to offer);

“Don’t even think about covering the whole check, Aemond!”

“Hmm.”

No, he won’t take you to Three Broomsticks. The tables there are sticky and he wants to do this right, god damn it…!

You feel bad that he always pays for those little dinners, when it should be you who covers the table;

So you shyly ask him if he wants to go celebrate one of his victories with you one day;

He wants to whisk you away and keep you all to himself with how adorable you’re being;

Aemond accepts (how would he ever say no to you), but has to take an hour long cold shower after your proposition to cool off;

Anyway, you decide to take him to The Hog’s Head!

You eat there and HE STILL COVERS THE DAMN CHECK;

“Aem. We agreed on something. Come on!”

“Did we now?”

“You’re terrible. I’m never going out with you again.”

But you do. And he knows not to take your cute threat seriously;

He gives you a small chuckle that makes your whole face burn in embarrassment over the things it led you to think about;

Despite the initial set-back, you do manage to one-up him that night, though! You tell him to wait in the empty Great Hall for you, and you return with a homemade apple pie and those horrible peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that you gave him when you first met;

“We never ate dessert! There’s no way we can end the night without dessert.”

He almost kisses you then and there, but gets scared you’ll reject him;

The Portrait of Merlin ships you two. That’s all I had to say.

No, but seriously, the most invested on-looker is the portrait of Merlin - he learns both your schedules every year and always keeps one of you busy with talking in between classes, so that you may “accidentally bump” into each other (see part 1 of the Yule Ball for a snippet of that);

The whole ass West Wing placed bets on who you’ll end up with between Aegon, Aemond and Jacaerys.

Bonus: when you walk with Aemond, no matter the time of day, you have the biggest “scary dog privileges”. NO ONE is getting close to bother you;
