Summary: Jinx's voices are very destructive, a new crisis is just around the corner, luckily you are there to help her... or so she thinks

THE REQUESTS ARE OPEN

It's overwhelming, exhausting even how loud the music is, but it helps Jinx to work, to focus, and to drown out the voices that often haunt her. But this time not even that is enough to deal with her frustration at not being able to move forward with this project.

Her hands are shaking and that only makes using the screwdriver even more difficult, the heat is annoying and the drops of sweat that slide down her forehead get in her eyes, it's impossible, this stupid project is impossible.

The material she was working with flies around the room until it shatters against one of the walls, it doesn't matter how long she's been working on that prototype, she doesn't want it anymore, it just gives her headaches.

"It's because you're stupid," like an echo bouncing off the walls, even above the loud beat of the music. "Maybe you'll end up shitting this too." Her limbs began to shake more and more violently, like a pressure saucepan about to explode. Jinx grabbed her braids furiously pulling them until her skin burned, the music started to drown out and Mylo's whispers got louder. "After all you are a Jinx."

One of the tools that she had also used just a moment ago also went through the room through the air, this time hitting the turntable and interrupting the music. "Shut up, shut up, shut up please."

“Shut me up? I'm quiet, you took care of shutting me up! You killed us!” Jinx uncovered her head looking for her old friend and some way to shut him up, Mylo, Claggor… Vi.

"Please..." Her voice sounded broken and the sobs made the spasms more and more violent. "It was an accident, I'm so sorry, I'm sorry..." She slid her hands from her face to her ears, trying to clear, trying to clear that voice but suddenly she found everything fell into a deathly silence, a desolate one, a completely dark lull.

"Okay Jinx," you broke that fine line between silence and her agitated breathing, it was as if a plug was ripped from the young woman's ears. You were here, that could only mean that everything would be fine. "We're fine, breathe with me, come on."

Inhale.

Exhale.

Inhale.

Exhale.

And repeat.

Your figure approached her, almost touching her nose, there was no trace of Mylo or Vi's screams, there was only you. She couldn't help but smile at you, her cheeks felt tight from dry tears but a smile was the least she could give you for helping her.

"Are we better?"

"Yes," she could only answer with a whisper, with her hands on the ground she used her strength to stand up, you accompanied her in movement until both of you were facing each other, keeping a minimum distance but without touching. "Thank you."

"Whenever you need it, little one." One of your eyes winked sympathetically, Jinx took one of her braids (now disheveled) combing her hair shyly, you had that effect on her, especially when you supported her, even after so many years. One of the young woman's hands reached up to touch your face, but at that very moment, you turned around to walk around the improvised laboratory, leaving her hand in the air.

Jinx continued to stare at you, not understanding until you came to the prototype bomb she had dropped just a few minutes ago, picking it up from the ground along with all of its pieces to carefully place it back on the workbench. "These pumps remind me of when we were girls... You spent more time coloring them than worrying about them working." She couldn't help a half-smile, her childhood was not something pleasant to remember, but if any memory had you, it would make it... Cuter? More tolerable? They didn't hurt her. "Come on, try again, maybe my help will inspire " You supported your weight on the table inviting her to return to her chair.

Carefully and trying not to make quick movements, the misfit returned to the initial position in her chair, searched the desk for a particular tool, but it appeared in front of her eyes. You kept looking at her with that smile that characterized you and she loved it so much. She took the tool you offered her, almost brushing your fingers.

None of you said anything again while she worked, but it wasn't a dark silence, it was a peaceful one that made her want to finish the job.

"Yes!" She cheered. "Silco will be very happy to see how quickly I finish this... Although he doesn't have to know that I hit the wall right?" She continued looking at her finished artifact waiting for a congratulations from you, but nothing, she turned her head to find you again, you were still there, on her table, but staring at the floor with melancholy airs.

“Silco,” his name escaped from your mouth like poison.

Sure, she forgot that little detail, you hated her father.

Well, after all, he...

"Please don't be angry," she begged you, she tried to take your hand that rested on your lap but at that very moment you got up from her desk, she turned next to her chair trying to follow you. "I missed you so much, don't go so soon."

You turned to face her again, she expected to find you frowning, hitting her or yelling at her like Vi, she would take it, she would take it if she could just touch you for a second.

"I miss you too, Monkey."

"Please." But you weren't there anymore. She found herself alone in her laboratory again, with the only company of the record player trying to forcefully play a song "Please..." Familiarity, where there was still a trace of Powder.

She took a rag doll that rested on a box, with your features, with scraps of cloth that resembled what you always used, she said your name repeatedly pressing it against her chest, no voice attacked her, but it was not necessary, the memories of the factory ran through his brain like a train, numbing any other thoughts. "Please come back, I'm so sorry."

Defeated, she put the toy back in her place, sitting perfectly, looking where you sat, Mylo's and Claggor's dolls hanging peacefully from the ceiling. "I miss you so much... all of you."

Jinx caressed the doll's face imagining that the rough fabric was as soft as your skin, the elevator behind her began to work indicating that someone was going up, Silco most likely.

"I have to go... I hope to see you again soon" She left a delicate kiss on the woolen threads that simulated your hair and went to the front door to greet her father.
