Have you seen the weird positions this gremlin sits in?

You come into the study that morning for your magic lesson rolling your shoulder, trying to work a kink out. You've been pulling late nights and all-nighters for the last two weeks in a row. Your fingertips are singed from practice and there's a steady pounding in the back of your skull. And you're tired.

But you have to learn.

Felix notices, of course. He asks if you're quite alright. You tell him you are but,, you aren't exactly convincing.

Felix snaps his book shut and grabs your hand, lightly tugging you onto the sofa. You poor thing. Magic is hard. Not everyone can be a prodigy like him :)

No but seriously lay down baby,,, he snuggles you up with blankets. If you have a headache you should drink a lot of water!! He also has some enchanted chamomile tea that helps with dehydration.

He insists on you putting a cool rag on your head.

You spend most of the day like that. He definitely has a few spells to help with your pain, but mostly what you need is rest.

Anisa

She's a knight! She has an Official and Intensive™ training routine. She knows all about getting sore. Definitely has the most official approach to it!! Takes a day off to look after you.

Draws you a warm bath. Gets you a cool compress. Shows you how to stretch.

Definitely teaches you about some basic anatomy stuff in regards to exercise. Even if you zone out it's just nice hearing her voice.

Helps you move around if you need/want it. Definitely wants you to take it easy but also knows a bit of walking does a lot of good.

Consider,,, marketplace date. You guys sit on a bench underneath a weeping willow. Snacking on goodies from the nearby stalls.

A traveling band plays in the square. You can't dance but you can sway in time with the beat, bumping your shoulder against Anisa's.

She laughs, slipping an arm around your waist and humming along

You guys stay out there for the better part of the day. If you fall asleep then she princess-carries you back to her apartment

She,, tries,,, really hard,,,, to make your favorite snack. Is super excited about it. Gently wakes you up.

Somehow it's burnt and undercooked at the same time.

But she tried!! She tried so hard. And you love her for that.

But also I think if you eat it you get +75 poison damage so maybe you should discreetly nudge that into a plant or something

Sage

Y'know sex is a pretty good pain reliever wink wink

No but actually he's sympathetic. He's been a fighter all his life. Corruption might keep him from dying but it sure as hell doesn't stop the hurt.

He's seen how hard you work. In fact for the last week he's been pestering you to take it easy, skip training and come drink with him. And while he's obviously full of lame flirts and innuendos, he really is trying to help in his own Sage way.

But now you're all sore and worn down, muscles you didn't even know existed burning and yelling at you

Sage,, probably offers to make you the Astraea equivalent of a hot toddy but with extra alcohol. It's how he deals with his pain.

He also offers to give you a massage - no, not like that! Though he's tempted. But no, he means a legitimate muscle massage. No funny business.

I mean he can do a little funny business if you want that's entirely up to you

Once you're settled and feeling a little better, he cuddles you close and purrs. It's like being wrapped in a vibrating, heated, weighted blanket. Incredibly soothing.

Probably tells you stories about his old fighting days and the various ways he dealt with the ache afterwards. Tries to make you laugh, though not so much that it hurts you even more.

While he rolls his eyes and huffs on the surface, in reality he is at your complete beck and call. Even vaguely suggest you might possibly want something and he's already got it. Poor baby just wants you to feel better

And once you have recovered a bit, he definitely tries to keep you from overworking yourself again.

Rime

Everyone talks about Rime's healing powers in past tense. But I'd like to suggest that Redemption!Rime still has at least some of his magic.

So once he finds out you're sore, he's going full Nurse Mode™

He has ice magic? Instant ice pack. But he insists on cuddling you from behind. If you get flustered he jokes about your heart rate going up, oh, is he gonna have to do a full examination on you? Your pulse spiking like that isn't good :( and your cheeks are red do you have a fever? :((((

He's such a little shit he's trying not to laugh the whole time

It isn't his fault! Entirely!! You're cute when you're shy

But he does take good care of you. Keeps your mind off the pain by telling you old embarrassing stories. Asks you to tell him about how medicine works on Earth. Is there anything you want him to try that might help you?

Be prepared for a well-intentioned lecture about taking care of your body

ideal gender is having the form of femininity and power of "girl" as in "help girl (hypothetical deity)" but still being able to reach the averageness and somewhat pathetic nature of "i'm just a (silly/little) guy"

I'm just imaging if MC was a witch/practices modern magick on Earth (whether you chose to believe in spirituality or not).

And MC just surprises Felix with their extensive knowledge on magick from Earth😭.

I imagine that there are some similarities when it comes to magick from Astrea and Earth. Earth's magick just isn't as showy/intense???? IDK

Could you please do the M4 finding out MC was in the hunger games? And the fact that MC would probably have PTSD or other underlying mental health issues,, it'd be interesting to see what specifically Felix would do to help with the nightmares idk😳😳

sage's need to protect mc increases Exponentially with every detail that he hears about their life

one part of him wants them to stick near him so he can make sure nothing happens, and the other part is the one that says he needs to keep them away from the fighting as much as possible. it's,, a lot to figure out for the both of them

he promises he won't let them get hurt or used like that again (he doesn't bring up any violence or fighting specifically)

he does his best to stay aware of possibly triggers around and keeps an eye on mc in case they show signs of having a flashback/dissociating.

sage makes sure to take the time to figure out a plan beforehand in case something Does happen so that he doesn't make it worse

probably the best at empathizing with any anger and shares how he calms down and stays grounded. he also tries harder to keep himself calm around them

anisa

horrified, even with everything she's gone through herself. she can't imagine a society that'd work like that and is heartbroken mc was put through it

anisa can empathize with parts of it and offers different things she's tried over the years. it might not compare to like, modern therapy or medication, but she has a solid knowledge of what's available in astraea

she works to figure out a routine/schedule for them that involves keeping them busy and so she can help if they need it

^ it's also to try to help with any insomnia or trouble sleeping

before they go to sleep anisa always reminds them that she's there if they need help so they know she doesn't mind being woken up for whatever reason

puts Extra care into mc's room and things, making sure they're comfortable and happy with their space. she thinks it's really the least she can do

felix

can't believe it for a second just because it sounds...so dystopian,, his mind starts racing for how he can help and what to do

has had his fair share of nightmares over the years and wakes up to comfort and ground them without complaints. it's a lot of promises that they aren't there anymore and that they're safe here with him. felix reminds them that if they ever want to talk, he'll be there to listen. (he never forces them to, of course)

suggests that they can help take care of stella (for a sense of routine) and spend time around her if she makes them feel better

if there's any aid, magic or otherwise, to help them sleep better and work through anxiety/depression/etc. he Will find them

^ tbh he'd still have methods that helped him while healing from rime's death that he'll use from time to time

whatever desire felix has for mc to stay with astraea multiplies, and he's even More inclined to offer a place with him if they'd like

rime

feels like an asshole for everything he did/said finding out what mc went through. learning about their life also probably explained some of their personality/reactions

rime's actually very patient and understanding if mc gets angry or lashes out without meaning to

figures out some signals so that mc can tell him when they're nervous or don't feel well like tugging on his clothes or hand

tells them that nothing that happened to them was their fault and that whatever they had to do, he'd never shame them for it

if something like holding ice until it melts (really anything with ice) helps mc ground themself he'll get some for them easily

careful about coming up from behind and not scaring them

Does rime try to spoil them after finding out? maybe. yes... if he doesn't have money he'd get felix to help tbh. it's things that they mentioned always wanting and also different things that are to help with coping/comforting in case he isn't around
