Ready For The Entire Movie To Be Ken In Love With Barbie And Supporting Her Through Everything
ready for the entire movie to be ken in love with barbie and supporting her through everything
ken getting arrested alongside barbie after she punches the guy who smacks her ass presents so many possibilities
ken saw barbie punch the douchebag and was like “LET’S MAKE THIS A PARTY” and joined in on the smackdown
alternatively, the guy’s friends tried to jump in and ken wasn’t having ANY of that
ken saw barbie getting shoved into a big car with bright lights on the top and was like “OH BOY! can i come too?? 😊😊” and just kind of tagged along
alternatively, he realized what was going on and was like “EXCUSE ME OFFICER i too have committed A Crime so please show me to The Jail with my beautiful girlfriend” so they wouldn’t be separated
ken got in trouble for trying to help barbie escape but in his defense no one TOLD him resisting arrest is a crime because no one told him what being arrested or crime is
ken didn’t know who these men showing up to take his girlfriend away were, but he could see she was very upset and excuse?? you cannot take barbie away from ken without her permission??? so long story short, ken punched a cop
ken fully burned something down earlier and the cops were like “two birds one stone” when they came to get barbie

annotations being a love language for beard means so much to me, he’s the type of person to gift an annotated book to a friend

It's a nice touch that Ted's main feedback was a (thematically necessary, imo) title change, but I love what is implied by Beard's heavily annotated copy more. He really put in the work. Heavy annotations don't imply a lot of criticism even if that's what we were led to believe, they're a conversation between the reader and the writer.
Beard is a serious reader, but the show has shown us that, in some ways, he's a very shy man who struggles with vulnerability, hence being able to reveal so many niche interests and details about his sex life while being oddly defensive when someone asks for a seemingly innocuous detail like where are you from originally? Which might lead to other questions like, how did you and Ted start working together? And we know that this particular story is still a source of shame for Beard. That's why the annotations are great: they're not personal, but they're still a precious means of communication for Beard, and they're a safe way for him to keep a conversation going with Trent, which might be especially important for Beard with Ted in another country and Beard trying to navigate that shift and a new marriage to Jane jesuschrist.
Tdlr: Beard's heavy annotations in Trent's manuscript are his way of saying he wants to be better friends.

They are the best of friends.

need everyone to see this bc it’s perfect

I think a big thing that people are overlooking is how Hobie looks out for his own and how much that coincides with punk culture.
Him looking out for younger teens is so fucking punk of him. He lets Gwen stay with him because she's vulnerable and struggling, he makes her a watch, he lets her keep his shoes, etc. and it's not out of romance, it's because she's family. Same with Miles; he knows Miles is naive and wants to help him, because he's been in the spider society longer and he knows what's really going on. He sees the adults, who are supposed to mentor them, targeting Miles and he just knows it's flat-out wrong and that he wants no part of it.
Hobie takes on such a big brother role for the other characters and I love it. He's more mature than the other teens in so many aspects, and he uses his experience to teach them how to get by because that's what being punk is about
i need to read the “very brief foreword” from roy like it’s very necessary
