If One Room Angel doesn't hurt me, it's gonna be number one in my heart, body, and soul.

It's hilarious! Angel called upon the power of paper-rock-scissors to get Koki to make the meal, then insulted Koki's face as he told a ghost story that upset Koki enough that he lost feathers.

It's sad! Angel realized that nobody could see him except Kouki and had a deep conversation with Koki about how he could merely be a physical extension of Koki's depression.

But then it's funny again when Koki claimed he won the fight but was stabbed and both the manager and Angel told Koki him being stabbed meant he lost the fight.

But then it's sad again because we met Angel's dad who seems like a really kind man, and Angel is covered from sight in the house by his altar because he is dead.

But then it's funny and sad at the same time when Koki hugged Angel and gave him some of his emotions since Angel claimed he couldn't feel anything, but a kid yelled about Koki because Koki just looked like he was hugging air since no one can see Angel.

But then Koki had a nightmare where all of Angel's feathers fell off and he frantically tried gathering them all.

So Angel woke him up and teased Koki since Angel can feel Koki's loneliness, and they fell asleep together.

It's an emotional battlefield each episode. Should I laugh? Should I cry? Should I stare into the black void that is life? Should I look up and see all the hope each day brings? I have no idea, but just like whatever this noodle roller coaster was, I'm enjoying the ride.

Jade was always odd

Middleman's Love decided to go full-clown on us, but . . . Jade was always living in another BL in Bed Friend.

And the man was always a mess.

That was the first episode of Bed Friend! The man has always been quirky. Hell, he snort-nose-bubble cried when King picked out the ring for Uea!

This fool is a believer in everyone being in a relationship because he is an innocent angel who still believes in fake shit like Santa and soulmates.

He is eccentric and is going to drive everyone crazy next week with his love for karaoke because he has never been capable of reading the room.

He likes doing random corny stunts like posing as a mannequin while waiting for his pharmacist because like a 54-year old dad, he thinks it's super funny.

Hijinks and shenanigans are this man's specialties.

Which is why his best friends are Uea, who needs some light in his life, and King, who finds his kooky behavior endearing.

Jade's watch was snitching on him, yet he was thinking, "I'm gonna match-make the hell out of the interns!" He is operating off of one brain cell, and it's being stretched thin between his friends, his job, and his family.

Y'all let my man live!

I don't call them Yellow/Orange Oddities for nothing!

That first one is sickening...

The Love Language of Ai Di and Chen Yi

As I touched on previously, the frequent mentions of dying for one another were not grim foreshadowing (fandom breathes sigh of relief), but instead the unorthodox love language of Ai Di and Chen Yi. (Okay a bit of rubber bullet foreshadowing)

These boys grew up surrounded by violence and death. They know loyalty, but less of love, and so when they need to confess the depth of their love for one another, it's all couched in loyalty, sacrifice, and death.

After viewing the Strawberry Cake boys forgo revenge after a brush with death, Ai Di is compelled to make a few things clear. He absolutely must be the first one to die.

I do appreciate the self-awareness that he will be even more unhinged if he loses Chen Yi, and it's probably better for everyone if that didn't happen. Chen Yi, however, takes immediate umbrage with that. He may be quiet and stoic, but that doesn't mean his feelings don't run as deep. He's spent the last 3 episodes desperately trying to drag Ai Di back into his life by every and all means possible including cute pillows, spicy food, guns, and outright hauling Ai Di over his shoulder.

"Haven't you thought about whether that'd make me go insane?" Ai Di probably hasn't thought that at all. He's so sure that his regard is a vast ocean compared to the small pond that is Chen Yi's devotion. He tries to drag that promise out of Chen Yi without success. Now it's Chen Yi's turn to explain just how deeply he cares about Ai Di and what Ai Di means to him. First the toe-curling kiss, because Chen Yi has always been more a man of action than words and then...

Okay, you get to go first, but then I'm only a second behind you. You're a fool if you think I don't love you just as much. Yeah, that was a love confession in their shared language. You can see how much Chen Yi revealed by both of their reactions. Chen Yi drops back into his seat with a shocked sigh, like, yeah, I did say that. Ai Di is trying to hold back a grin of delight.

Up until this moment, Ai Di was sure that while every fiber of his being was devoted to Chen Yi, he only had a slice of Chen Yi's love. He was thrilled to have that, but he didn't really believe that the depth of his feelings could be returned. It wasn't until Chen Yi made clear that losing Ai Di would also destroy him that Ai Di acknowledges that truth and replies...

I hear you. I believe you. We love each other equally.

I love this type of confession for them. It works so perfectly for their characters. An 'I love you' would not have been half so intense.

And now, just because... Cuddled up with each of them watching each other's back. Symbolism with a side of purple lighting. A+
