You know that one post about using the special things instead of saving them for a time special enough to use them? Burning the pretty candles, eating off the fine china, that sort of thing.

Tonight I opened the sterling silverware that my parents were gifted when they married 30-some years ago. They never used it, it was put in a cabinet to be safe and keep from tarnishing until it was time to use them, and that never happened. When my mom visited and saw my mismatched utensils she decided I needed that silverware. I opened all the sealed plastic sleeves that kept them from tarnishing and got fingerprints on them for the first time.

Since my parents’ wedding they had not so much as touched the open air. Tonight they have touched late night box mac and cheese, as was surely always intended.

my biggest skyrim L was me wanting to play instruments but thinking that i couldn’t play them because i didn’t do the bards college questline. then i finish the bards college questline only to find out that playing instruments isn’t a vanilla feature at all
