Me watching season 4 of the umbrella academy:

There’s something in this season that I haven’t seen many people talk about in the endless list of terrible decisions in this train wreck of a final season. It’s mentioned in the first episode and then pretty consistently throughout the season, but never with the significance that it should have.

Lila’s parents are alive in this timeline, and she doesn’t seem to give a shit.

Sure, she loves her children and talks/argues with her parents and is irritated when Diego complains about the in-laws, but I’m really annoyed that the show runners want us to believe that Lila is not head-over-heels in love with the domestic life for the simple fact that she gets to spend it with her parents. Like. You’re telling me that Lila “Someone who’s never had a family and is in no position to ask for one” Pitts has not only three beautiful children, a loving husband, several goofy cousins and aunties, AND HER BRUTALLY MURDERED PARENTS FROM WHOM SHE WAS STOLEN AS A CHILD AND WHO ARE NOW MIRACULOUSLY ALIVE—and they want us to think she’s bored?? You mean they wrote lines for her AND DIEGO to speak in casual Punjabi, had the whole family at Little Grace’s birthday party, had Uncle Lenny pick up the kids, had Luther borrow clothes from one of the cousins, had the whole gang not only rescue the DiegoLila children but Claire too from The Cleanse—all of that—just for her to turn her back on her family for the strawberry farm?? I know she was more keen on going back than Five, but she seemed awfully comfortable after the “few days” that they were supposed to rest there came and went.

My heart goes out to the actors who had to play these butchered versions of characters they respected. Lila was such a beautiful, complicated, fascinating character, and I wish I could’ve seen more authentic moments with her and her family.

Not even gonna mention whatever’s going on with Five, just look at how pretty my girl is 🥰
