I got to go buy a new stylus today (FINALLY!!) and of course I immediately put it to work. I had to. Ended up drawing for like at least three hours straight, my neck hurts, but oh I'm so happy even if the progress I made was a bit shit.

Did the lineart and started the process of sketching out his tattoo designs! I had some beginnings of a design before this whole unable-to-draw period went on but I hated it so I scrapped it. New version now!

Yeah it looks like shit. But I have Plans™ to hopefully make it prettier (and do the entire process again for the other arm, and do other designs for torso, neck, and face) and the colours I have here are mere placeholders anyways. I intend to change it up and make it look better. My neck and shoulders are hurting even more just thinking about it, it's gonna be an Ordeal™, but oh I'm so fucking happy I can draw again.

Even if school starts again literally next Monday, and I am so not looking forward to it.

Thinking about the fact that Zandeh is bad at cooking and also the incident of Hilmes oversalting his roasted rabbit, and I can’t help but imagine this little scenario…

The two of them are travelling through some remote area where they have to fend for themselves, and so Zandeh offers to be the one who makes a meal for them both. Hilmes agrees to this, because why should a descendant of the Hero King Kaykhusraw have to cook for himself if someone else is there to do it? The food is ready, Zandeh serves it, and… it’s disgusting.

Hilmes flatly refuses to let him cook again the next night: “No, I’ll do it myself.” Zandeh, who was disheartened at first that his own efforts were not well received, is now excited to try something made by his beloved denka, but when he tastes what Hilmes has created he can’t help but think ‘it’s… really bad.’ But of course he tries his best to give an enthusiastic compliment even as he struggles to finish his helping. (I imagine Hilmes is unconvinced; his taste buds are also working fine, after all. The food is totally gross and he knows it.)

Hilmes, the next morning: “If we cover twice the distance we did yesterday we’ll make it to a town by the time it gets dark.” 

Zandeh: “Yes, Your Highness.”

They never speak of those two meals again.
