Okay, you need to make sure you play this game at some point. Maybe not today or anything, because you’ll need about thirty minutes and a serious willingness to understand how it works, but - it’s so worth it. It’s basically an answer to our occasional frustration - why do assholes always come out on top? - and the beautiful thing about it is that not only does it explain how that happens, but also how we can change it.

OMG TWO OF MY INTERESTS!!???IN THE SAME PLACE??!??!??

When I was three my dad told me a story. A man was driving on an empty road in the middle of the night, probably going back home from work. Suddenly he felt his car wobble uncontrollably. He got out to inspect and found out that all the lug nuts from one tire had fallen off and had rolled off into a nearby storm drain.

He held his head in utter misery. The car had come to a halt outside a mental hospital and the nearest car mechanic was 30 miles away. As he paced around in his despondency, trying to figure out what to do he thought he heard a voice. Turing around he found a loony sitting on the wall of the mental hospital. The loony told him that he should take off one lug nut from each remaining tire and attach them to this one. That way all four tires will have an equal number of lug nuts which will be enough to balance the car so as to reach the mechanic's. The man was amazed at the looney's brilliant idea and asked him how he came up with it, and that if he was so smart, why was he sectioned. To which the looney replied "I'm mad not dumb!"

Amusing story right! But seventeen years later, now, I realized this might just have been an interaction between Eddie McKenna and Campbell Bain.
