i think sometimes that my critique of a lot of political projects is basically just – okay but what about the global south? and i think it must be really annoying and frustrating to engage with me but here's the thing. i know my own subject position makes it difficult to say but i think the conclusion is inescapable from how much ever objectivity i can manage.

if you want the liberal humanist reason – the rawlsian original position from the veil of ignorance demands it. if you want the utilitarian reason – most people are in the global south and conditions are often terrible. if you want the marxist leninist reason – all people deserve self determination. if you want the anti colonial marxist reason – the wretched of the earth should inherit it.
