Amir Locke was shot and killed by the Minneapolis Police this Wednesday (2/2/2022)

He was a 22 year old Black man who was sleeping on a family member’s couch when the police entered the apartment and shot him within nine seconds.

Like in the murder of Brionna Taylor, the police had a no knock warrant. The warrant was for an arrest related to a murder case and Amir was not named in. The initial MPD press release called Amir a “suspect,” which they’ve stopped saying, but the first thing they tried to do was demonize him.

Amir was sleeping with a firearm which he was in legal possession of. He reached for it when the cops woke him up by entering the apartment shouting and shining bright lights on him. Before he was fully awake, MPD officer Mark Hanneman killed him.
