Change does not come human ability, but the Holy Spirit’s. Change of one’s heart does not come from human empathy, or human goodness, or human guilt, nor human kindness, it comes from the Holy Spirit’s. He can demonstrate Himself, the Fruits of The Spirit, through one into another person. Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” It takes another kind of demonstration, to change the human heart. Another kind of love, of rightness, of might, to make someone anew. Therefore, no amount of psychology or behavioral therapy, or self-help, will explain or demonstrate what God can only do. And I’m not saying therapy can’t help people, but matters of the mind can not change the heart, until the heart is changed and so then will the mind. Amen.

hi yall im back with an analogy the Holy Spirit gave me when i was trying on new makeup

we use makeup to cover up blemishes and pretty ourselves. it makes us happy for a while, then we take it off and again are upset with the way our skin looks. makeup is not everlasting. when you practice skincare, the blemishes, dark spots, and pimples go away. it takes a while, but it bears results. then you no longer depend on makeup to look and feel good. faith in God is much like this. sometimes we read verses and meditate with Gospel music. sometimes we do what is right in the Eyes of God, and that makes us feel good momentarily. and then we stop---we go back to living sinful lives and wonder why we are upset. When we stick to God, we trust him more and become holier each day. slowly, but surely. then you will no longer depend on the world's fleeting pleasures.

makeup cannot make our own skin pretty--following skincare routines will.

maintaining lukewarm Christianity cannot make our spirits righteous and holy--following God will.

slowly, but surely.
