Sorry to anyone who likes c!Dream lmao, I start off saying that you in this scenario didn’t like Dream

Warnings: overall angst, some strong language. If I missed something, let me know!

Theme: You finally have had enough of missing Sam while he slaves away at the prison and decide it’s better to go separate ways.

Characters: Awesamdude (Sam), Y/N.

You had never liked Dream. Albeit how well he led his friends, he was impulsive, angry, and dangerous; naturally you were just fine with the idea of putting him in the prison. What you hadn’t been fine with was what came after the man was in prison - the absence of your boyfriend, Sam. 

Although you knew that making sure that Dream was secure in the prison was Sam’s job, you couldn’t help but miss him. You missed him so terribly that your heart ached when you went to bed alone, and in the morning your face would drop when he wasn’t beside you still. You felt at your limit for so long, that eventually you needed something to change. 

You walked along the path, the portal familiar, but not inviting in the least. Your shoes scraped the obsidian as you hopped up, then went through a second time. The feeling of traveling through portals made you slightly nauseated, but you were slowly growing used to the feeling. You stopped just long enough for the sick to leave your head, then you walked around, calling for your boyfriend. Although you were pained to be doing this... it had to be done. 

Eventually, the male popped his head around a corner and walked up to you. “I know how much you like to visit, Y/N, but you really shouldn’t.” You sighed heavily and nodded, trying to avoid eye contact. “Y/N? Something up?”

You decided to stop dodging what you came here to say. “We... we should break up.” You looked into his eyes, watching his face fall, your heart dropping even further into the endless black void that had spawned in you on the way here. Before he could say anything, you continued. “You’re... always gone. I know how busy you can be, but that doesn’t mean you’re busy all the time. You can’t just overwork yourself, worry me, and never be home. Not without shit going down.” 

“I’m sorry.” 

“I know! I- Sam, I get it. I get that you have a job here that you need to do, but... I don’t think it’s going to work out this way.” Your eyes pooled with tears that stung, and you messed with the hem of your shirt to try and distract yourself. It wasn’t working. Your nose was starting to run.

“So this is really happening.” He blinks rapidly for a second, blinking back his own tears. He pulled his mask down to run his hand down his face, sighing. “I... I mean, if this is what you really want, Y/N. I can’t stop you from leaving. I just want you to know that um...” He paused, a shakier sigh making it’s way from his lips. “..that I’ll always love you.” 

You bit the inside of your cheek, looking around the area. The walls loomed over the two of you, and it felt like they were getting closer. Closing in on you. “I never said I wanted this. I just... I think it’ll be better for us right now.” You smiled sadly up at him, and he sniffled. It hurt both of you seeing each other this way. There was so much hurt.

“Alright.” His eyes watered. He took a moment to wipe the sadness from his eyes. “Promise me. Promise that... that if there’s still a chance with us, when things are better, that we’ll try again?” 

You just nodded. If you spoke again, you were afraid that you would break down. 

He stepped forward and presses a soft kiss to your forehead, then stepped back again and put his mask up. “See you around, Y/N. I’m sorry.” He gave a tiny wave, then turned on his heel and made his way back to what he was doing. As you were making your way back to the portal, you heard him let out a quiet sob. That was what hurt you most, and had you bawling yourself. You had to get out quicker. You had to stay strong.

Can I just say how happy I am that people as big as these folks are talking about this shit? LIKE BRO THANK YOU, SPREAD THE AWARENESS. CONVERSION THERAPY IS TORTURE. IF YOU SEND YOUR CHILD TO CONVERSION THERAPY YOU’RE LETTING YOUR CHILD BE ABUSED. PERIODT.

This was pretty cool to write, and adding others in was really fun. Thinking about the characters this way is new ahaha. I didn’t do that many but here ya go!

Schlatt:

- Pretends to find it weird at first, but obviously he really enjoys it - If you give him something he’ll put it up so he won’t lose it - “Stop giving me stuff.” “Should I take it back?” “No. Shut up. I’m putting it on the shelf.” - I feel like his love language is also partially gift-giving so whether it’s a hoodie from his closet or something he bought while thinking about you, you probably have it somewhere safe as well. - All he asks is that you stop being so nice. You do not.

Dream:

- He finds it very cute when you pop up with something for him, although he insists you don’t have to. -Although, how can he refuse you when you say that you like giving him things? - Sometimes he’ll talk about it with George and Sapnap, and although they tease him about it, he still enjoys your gifts all the same. 

Sapnap:

- Obviously he absolutely adores anything you get him.  - Sometimes when he streams, he’ll start showing off all the cool stuff you get him.  - “Chat, tell Y/N how cute this thing is. I don’t even know what it is really, but it’s so cool. They always get the coolest stuff for me.” 

Wilbur:

- He enjoys things you get him. Most of it is cool looking guitar picks and little pins - Obviously he’ll put those pins on a jacket or whatever he wears, and he uses the guitar picks based on how he’s feeling. - Would probably like any that have scenery like mountains the most, and would use it most often.
