dont think it has happened but I cannot stop thinking about the idea that Armand only intended to kill and drain Daniel like he "should have done it" in the 70s, but that Daniel smelling the tiny cuts of Armand bit him back

The Sims

Rashid gets compromised before episode 5 and instead of an arms dealer Armand decides to go with his long trusted employee for lunch and prevent that script from ever reaching Daniel. Rashid finds out and is about to leave when Armand blocks the way with his gremlin stare.

"What was that you said earlier? I could kill you right now? The deception is truly staggering!"

"Speaking of deception what about this, Armand? It's your handwriting!" Daniel waves the script as Sam had it delivered earlier. Louis is away on business and won't return for another few hours.

"Oh? And how can you be so sure of that?" Armand turns to Daniel with an icy stare. But beneath his frosty composure, panic is starting to rise.

"I - " The words die in Daniel's throat. How did he know? He looks down at the elegant handwritten notes garlanded across the script, the red ink now faded over the decades - except it's not, no, he can see that same handwriting in vivid scarlet ink snaking across a different manuscript - his, Daniel's, manuscript of his first book.

In this vision, he sees lithe brown hands, one thumbing through the pages, another twirling a red ballpoint pen, against a background of stark hotel sheets covering two pairs of bare legs. His cheek rests against a cool shoulder. He knows with bone deep certainty that if he craned his head, he would see a mop of jet black curls and unblinking amber eyes and kiss-bitten lips.

Daniel stumbles back, shaking the memory away, cursing as he knocks over a chair. "Get the fuck outta my head!"

"I'm not..." The vampire is still. Somehow smaller, drawn in.

"Whatever you're doing, I know it's bullshit!" Daniel continues, his hands clenching into fists. He's probably damaging the script but he doesn't care. "You expect me to believe that you were - what, having an affair with me? In love with me? That doesn't even make... sense..."

Except it does.

Jesus fucking christ, it explains a lot of Armand's behaviour in the past few days.

Something cracks in Armand's façade. Wide, terrified eyes. The wolfskin peeled back to reveal the lamb underneath.

And Daniel, the shepherd dog turned bloodhound with the lamb's throat in his jaws.
