I don’t even care if it’s macaroni, ramen or those little bowls you stick in the microwave. Please, I need reassurance that most of the population on tumblr WOULDN’T STARVE TO DEATH if their parents couldn’t fix them food or they couldn’t go out to eat.
It's with a heavy but hopeful heart that I watch Palestinian families fundraiser on here, slowly accumulating the precious little money to go around that they need to survive. However, not everyone is so lucky. A lot of Palestinians that have not had that kind of luck, that did not get early verification, that did not get massive platforms behind them from large bloggers, have approached me in my inbox, asking me kindly to do what I can for them. It kills me that I have so little to give myself, but I've seen this platform collectively raise enough to change someone's life. I've made a list of Palestinian fundraisers that are extremely low on funds, in the hope that drawing attention to people who have not been lucky at all can help turn that luck around. I know most of us can't possibly give enough to get all of these families safe in one go. But please, reblog this list. Pick one or two fundraisers, give what you can, and then keep track of it. Slowly, collectively, we can make a difference in these people's lives. Since the whole thing with NaNoWriMo has gone down, I've noticed that one of their former sponsors, Ellipsus, has cut contact with NaNoWriMo because they do not support their stance on AI; I didn't know what Ellipsus was, but upon further research I've found that they are a writing platform that works a lot like Google Docs and Microsoft Word, only with a heavier leaning on the story-writing aspect and connecting with other writers - and they also completely denounce any use of AI, both in the writing process itself and in the use of their platform. I really appreciate that.
Since this is the case (and since I've noticed Google has begun implementing more AI into their software), I've decided to give Ellipsus a try to see if it's a good alternative to Google Docs (my main writing platform). It's completely free and so far, I've found it simple to use (although it is pretty minimal in its features), and I really like the look of it.
I figured I'd spread the word about this platform in case any of you writers would want to give it a try, and if you do, let me know how you like it!
Urgent update my little brother is dying 😭
Today we took our little brother to the hospital because he suffers from an infection that affects his breathing and causes him pain. I hope that every living conscience will help us save our young son’s life and donate any amount you can.

so, as the one-year mark of this ongoing genocide approaches, i'd ask you to think seriously about how much money it costs just to keep yourself alive for an entire year. $15,000? $10,000? could you live off just $5,000? for a whole year?
since losing his job and his house to the israeli bombing, mohammed iwais has been supporting his 27-person family on gofundme donations equivalent in total to about $50k USD, or roughly $1,852 per person.
i am asking you to think about the reality of what this means for a family undergoing repeated displacements, bullet wounds, other medical emergencies, and now homelessness—in an occupied country that is being brutally price-gouged and cut off from even basic humanitarian aid by military border blockades.
mohammed's fundraising goal has not yet been met, and he's going to update his gfm page to reflect that as soon as he gets a stable internet connection. until then, there's really only one question.

i was talking to mohammed a while ago about his kids and i can't help but feel for him and the other palestinian grownups doing everything to secure their children's lives. a lot of us suffer from illnesses that cannot be seen by the eyes. but my mind cannot truly comprehend what must it be like surviving an ongoing genocide scared for your life and everybody else's. i am sure each of us carry a story of struggle and i am sure that it was an easier burden when someone was there to remind us that we are not alone in our battle.
this family needs a support system to give them hope, and so i am once again asking you to please help @hatem1790. if you advocate for mental health awareness, then do consider donating to and campaigning for the abusweireh family and other palestinian families.

My name is Sameer Al Khaldi. I am a Palestinian refugee living in Gaza with my family of 17 people in a tent facing the worst war in human history. During the current Gaza war, my house was completely destroyed resulting in the loss of my business and all our belongings. Me and my family have since been displaced in the streets with no shelter, lack of access to food, drinking water, and healthcare necessities. Despite we were camping in areas which were announced as safe, we faced an imminent danger of death by Israeli airstrikes in our camping neighborhoods several times which resulted in serious physical and psychological impacts on us as well as my little grandsons. I am writing this fundraiser hoping to get help with your generous donations to evacuate Gaza immediately to a safer country.
Before the war, we were having a normal life in Gaza having our own business and working hard with my sons and brothers to be able to survive under the Gaza siege. We were preparing for my daughter's wedding which was supposed to take place this summer but unfortunately she got all her wedding dresses and belongings gone with the destroyed house. She's now left with nothing hoping to be able to get married to her fiancé in a safer place one day. One of my sons was supposed to complete his high school education this year and was passionate about enrolling in a university to study business but the war deprived him from this success and left him hopeless while seeing other students in the west bank receiving their high school certificates while he's left behind. I hope this fundraiser with your generous support would help him to get out of Gaza and continue his education and achieve his life goals abroad. The funds collected through this fundraiser will be used to pay for the travel expenses for myself and my family of 17 people including 9 adults and 8 children. We hope one day will be able to rebuild our lives peacefully and get back to stable conditions with safety and protection for our kids like other children in the world.

i genuinely think people harassing celebs is a labor rights issue as well as a conversation about boundaries. celebs make art for you and perform for you but they, like me performing my metaphorical song and dance for my customers, have off the clock time that needs to be recognized for what it is. celebs are artists making art for you, they, a person, are not a commodity. you are not entitled to them at any time day or night any more than my boss is entitled to ask me to work off the clock either.
