(Consequences part 2: Facing the Asims)

I have... so many feelings about this theme.

Listen. Listen. We all know it's Jamil's job to protect Kalim. But we never talk about the (few) times Kalim is the one protecting Jamil.

There are usually no consequences to the boys overblotting and trying to murder everybody destroying everything, but Jamil actually had some consequences (his dormmates losing trust in him and wanting him gone, and all that).

With just this glimpse of damage control Kalim did, we can more or less guess all the other kind of damage control Kalim did to protect Jamil. He didn't just defend him from their dormmates, he also most likely defended him from both their families. By liying surely. Kalim doesn't lie about anything (but maybe he does omit when it comes to his own sense of mortality), so the fact that Jamil suffered no consequences from their families despite having attempted murder on his own master means Kalim actively brushed it all under the carpet and pretended everything was fine. And that's his whole personality isn't it? To pretend everything is fine.

I just... I loved this tiny glimpse of Kalim's protectiveness. Glory to the Sunshine.

My one hang up on the whole "Skully isn't twisted from Jack he's just a fanboy" thing is that you technically could make the same argument about the ob boys, it's just that none of them have gotten isekaid into a book where they get to meet their idol. You're telling me Azul Ashengrotto wouldn't be frothing at the mouth to meet the Sea Witch? That Riddle wouldn't be a circus and a half in front of the Queen of Hearts? JAMIL would be calm and collected and not a total chunni before the sorcerer of the sands??? Blocked blocked blocked none of them are free from cringe 💀

Twisted boys worst to best, GO!!

I'll make it my fav to my meh if thats fine with you. I fear I would spend hours on a detailed analysis for what I consider to be perfect chara design and motivations otherwise.

-Azul (perfect, 12/10, makes my autism go brr, I still need to do that full analysis for him because I love him too much and have too many thoughts, must pull)

-Jamil (perfect, 11/10, someone please give this man freedom and his weight in cookies, must pull)

-Cater (perfect, 10/10, flashy guy with completely dead eyes, reminds me of Childe, pull if possible)

-Rook (perfect, 10/10, makes my autism go brr, perfect world view ideology, rewired my brain chemistry, pull if possible)

-Idia (perfect, 10/10, peak brother, family angst makes my heart go brr, insufferable asshole, pull if possible)

-Jade (9/10, creepy, would go mushroom hunting with him so we could see who's the most autistic about fungi, sometimes pull)

-Vil (9/10, perfection, made me fall in love instantly during his chapter despite me expecting to dislike him, fawn whenever I see him, pull if possible)

-Leona (8/10, absolute asshole, insufferable dick, wish his flashback was done better so we could see how horrendous it could have truly been, plan on rewriting something someday about that, should be on the pull if possible list but I have no self control for this fucker so I always pull for him)

-Riddle (7/10, made me fall in love with the game, used to kin him in all the wrong ways lol, would've overblotted too in his place, no pull)

-Ruggie (7/10, freaky evil little guy syndrome, has the funniest synergy with Leona, love him, would pull for him if I was rich)

-Kalim (10/10, best character ever and people underestimate him and his potential too much, would smother him in kisses, despite being perfect he is still low on the list coz I'm a mess, sometimes pull)

-Floyd (7/10, creepy asshole, love his mood swings and how everybody just works around it, perfect trio with the two others, sometimes pull)

-Deuce (6/10, lovely little mama boy, doing his best, I want to cheer for him, no pull)

-Trey (6/10, perfect house husband, love how hard he tries to be normal even though he's just as much a freak as everybody else, no pull though was tempted once)

-Sebek (5/10, I see potential but I'm not yet familiar with him, golden retriever vibe, would give him a smooch, no pull though I was tempted once)

-Silver (5/10, not familiar with him yet but he has very interesting themes, no pull)

-Epel (5/10, little dick, needs to learn to move past his misogyny and I love that theme for him, but keeps being done dirty by the story who refuses to have him learn the lesson, no pull)

-Lilia (4/10, should be one of my fav coz I absolutely love the "retired war god who settled down to become a father" trope, but I just can't get the spark with him for some reason..., no pull though I was tempted once)

-Ortho (5/10, best baby bro, has a lot of potential, but rarely ever used properly, no pull)

-Jack (4/10, best tsundere boy but kinda boring in my opinion, no pull)

-Ace (5/10, very good character but I would've blocked him so hard coz I can't stand that kind of behavior lol, no pull)

-Malleus (3/10, just like Lilia his trope is usually one I love but I seriously can't care about him no matter how hard I try, no pull)

Others:

-Crowley (10/10, peak character, would punch him in the face if he was real, must pull)

-Sam (9/10, very interesting, would love to see his card or have him more often on screen, would pull)

-Crewel (9/10, dom daddy, gives a mix of Vil and Leona vibe lol, must pull)

-Trein (9/10, father and widower, cat dad, would make him tea and scones, must pull)

-Vargas (3/10, surprisingly one dimensional when the game is so good at fully fleshing its characters, waiting to see more)

-Rollo (9/10, absolute asshole, desperately needs a hug and therapy, should also probably go in prison lol, very interesting fodder for Idia, would have pulled if I had any extra gems)

-Fellow and Gidel (10/10, brothers, assholes, completely out if it and loving them for it, still need to read their stories but I already love them, must pull)

-Skully/Skelly (10/10, looks like the weirdest little shit, super cringe, already loving him but still need to see, must pull)

More random twst hcs

Post book 3, the Octrio become Yuu's gossip buddies. Yuu uses the secrets they learned about Crowley and NRC's underground as currency to get favors and free food. Plus, Jade and Floyd love listening to Yuu explain the other dorms' Drama (tm). 

The entire student body has a group chat dedicated to the weirdest places they've found Leona and Silver sleeping. 

They'll never admit it, but the twins are extremely dedicated to making sure that Azul eats enough. They'll drug him and hook him up to nutrient IVs if they have to.

Lilia can purr and would purr to help baby Silver and Malleus fall asleep. He still does it when they're stressed.

Thanks to his mother, Riddle has the spice tolerance of white bread. He ate at Scarabia once and Kalim thought he was dying.

Kalim is totally unfazed by jumpscares and horror movies in general.

Idia was the first person to get baby Ortho to laugh.  

Kalim always remembers to invite Malleus to all the random parties he throws. Even if Malleus doesn't attend, he appreciates the thought immensely. The Asim family and Briar Valley are likely going to become strong allies in the future. 

Rook's mother is a fox beastwoman. Some of his siblings got the fox features, but Rook got the hunting ability and cunning.

Yuu gives Grim a forehead kiss every night before they go to sleep. It never fails to make him cozy and sleepy but he would rather die than admit it. 

Azul challenged Kalim to a game of Monopoly just once (once). He thought it'd be an easy game, but at the end of the hour, Azul had two (two) properties left and Kalim owned everything else. Worst part is, Kalim doesn't know any of the rules and this was his first time playing, so he was going off of pure instinct. Never again will Azul make that mistake. 

The twins' mother is the head of the family, their father having married in. She has similar mannerisms and presentation to Jade, but Floyd's impulsivity. She's the one who taught them the majority of the underhanded tactics they use.

Animals instinctively love Kalim. One time a tiger got loose from a parade and ran up to Kalim. Jamil nearly had a heart attack, but the tiger just bowled Kalim over and started nuzzling and licking him. Kalim still visits the tiger regularly. 

Kalim has apologised to his kidnappers regularly (for getting in the way/tripping, ect) and he's even been released twice because they felt so bad holding him hostage. Another time, he wasn't released, but he was treated well, and he defended them when he was eventually found.
