Percy Jackson and Lee Fletcher were friends!

I just image Lee trying to teach Percy archery, and Percy’s just not even hitting the target. Percy also repeatedly pops himself in the arm with the bowstring.

Meanwhile, Percy tries to teach Lee to use a sword and he just can’t. Like, Lee literally somehow always ends up dropping the sword.

Lee is really good with a throwing knife, which results in Percy giving him random targets to hit.

“That leaf on that tree.”

“That knothole in that board on the dock.”

“Michael’s dumb hat.”

“Travis’s drink during the middle of dinner.”

“That one purple flower growing on the Demeter cabin’s roof.”

“This apple on my head.”

And Lee purposely exaggerates all of Percy’s exploits because it annoys him when he retells the story.

“He fought Ares, the Minotaur, and the Furies all at once!” “No, I didn’t.”

“He held up the sky for an agonizing six hours.” “It was two minutes, Lee.”

“He once attacked Clarisse and -” “Lee, buddy, I think you better stop this story right here before Clarisse gets any angrier.”

And Lee is such a good, obedient, and sensible child that Chiron is just dumbfounded when Will tells him that Lee is in the infirmary after trying to pull off a stunt on the climbing wall.

Course, then Annabeth informs him that Percy’s also in the infirmary for trying to do the same stunt, and it all suddenly makes sense.

Never look down on anybody unless you’re helping him up.
