Four delvers rove deep, deep into the unreality of the City Beneath.
Each seeks to achieve the unimaginable.
But in a city shaped by desire, it can be dangerous to want too strongly...

I say this with genuine love: I love this rash of small time internet creators starting the most unlistenable tabletop roleplaying podcasts you've ever heard. It feels like a companion to how every group of 20somethings in the 1990s used to have a shitty garage band. We need more of that shit.
We're doin it live
Dragonmeet tickets cover the show, no extra booking required
My decisions about which public domain material to pull from when planning this show are heavily influenced by being on tumblr too much, btw. No one can stop me putting Jon and Mina Harker in there for the players to make Links with. I can dangle the temptation of heisting the Cask of Amontillado in front of the players if I want
See us live at Dragonmeet
Going to Dragonmeet, London's roleplaying game convention, on Sat 2 December?
Your ticket also covers the first Merely Roleplayers live show since Lights Out in 2021!

Heroes you know, in a story you don't.
10:30am-12:00, Pouilly Room, Mezzanine ā as part of the Podcast Zone
This show will Merely Roleplayers' first venture into Interstitial: Our Hearts Intertwined by Riley Hopkins, which is inspired by crossover/alternate universe fan fiction, Kingdom Hearts, and making your Star Wars action figures and your My Little Ponies go on adventures together when you were little. (We've played Interstitial before, just not for an audience)
In Interstitial, the idea is you play your blorbos and scrunklies from existing shows and books and stuff, liberating them from corporations fanfic-style to make your own, better stories with them. I pitched a total free-for-all but that got shut down on the basis it might "get the convention into trouble" and "risk invoking the awful wrath of Disney's legal team", so this is gonna be all public-domain Interstitial.
Watch this space ā over the next couple of weeks we'll announce our main cast and which characters from literature and legend they'll be playing!
Can you help spread the word?
Even if you're not coming to Dragonmeet this year, can I get you to fast-reblog this really quick?
I know from previous Dragonmeets that the Pouilly Room doesn't get passing traffic. Plus we're on at 10:30am, when people are just arriving and getting their bearings. And there's no guarantee the Podcast Zone live shows will be listed in the printed programme.
I want to make sure that no one who might enjoy this show ends up missing it just because they didn't know it was happening. So please reblog! And we've got posts on Insta to share around too!
Stay tuned for rescheduled dates ā when we know them, you'll know them!
The Gauntlet have just launched their writing contest for The Silt Verses RPG!
Invent a terrifying new god & faith for the game, concoct a dangerous and tangled Assignment, or sit back and worldbuild by imagining a Journey.
The aim of the contest is fun and creativity, but there are also cash prizes available for the winners and other cool stuff too. (Entries close on Feb 25 2024.)
