Hello! I did this drawing for a DM/friend a while ago, and thought I'd post it here cause I think it turned out nice :)
My friend created the creatures and I took his descriptions and facts and came up with this design; he was very happy with it. Unfortunately the campaign they were used in was cut off cause no one could find the damn time to do sessions (freaking choir people, they have no time for life I swear). Anyways, I really like drawing in this style even if it took a while.
I feel like so many people on this website do digital art but I don't have any of the stuff for that so I will only be posting physical art I've done; apologies that I'm not great at taking pictures of them (as you can tell from my previous posts).
Warm Regards,
Sam
Ted Lasso Dialogue Dump
Okay so I thought it would be fun to try and write some Ted Lasso stuff cause the show is great and Ted talks in such a specific way, so here's what I think is the most in-character thing I've written for any character:
A while later, when a decent amount of people are walking about, enjoying life before work, I hear a “Howdy Sam, how are you doing?” from beside me. “I’m alright, Ted. You?” “Oh I’m doing fine. Hey, nice scarf by the way. Very stylish. Reminds me of my neighbor’s grandma’s cat that she used to doll up during parties and whatnot. Was very cute; kid’s loved it. Always suckers for animals in human clothes. Hey I wonder if they have stores just for animal clothes? Ya know, like a normal clothing store but instead of normal sized jackets and shirts and hats they’re all tiny so you can fit them on a dog or cat or—heck even a lizard! Hey, if you could have any pet, what would it be? C’mon, lets here it. Nothing too outlandish!” He pats my shoulder encouragingly.
I can’t help it when a smile forms on my face. Just who he is—it’s so infectious to me. I take a moment to ponder his question, then respond “I think I would like a horse. Not here, in the city, but if I lived out in the country I think It’d be nice. Be able to ride out into who-knows-where for half a day or something. Plus, you can give them a full-body hug instead of it just being a little thing you squeeze in your arms” I say, knowing he’d like that answer.
“Well, I’ll be darned, I was going to say a parrot cause they’re pretty cool and you could teach them tricks and whatnot, but you’re totally right about that huggin’ thing! Would be nice to be able to do that. Plus you can go places with a horse, whereas if ya let a parrot loose it would probably just get lost’r something.”
On Doing Ciphers in Public
Okay so I journal a lot, right? And in public places a lot too, specifically at church. Now because of where I sit in my high school group there are people behind and above me, so I become paranoid that they're going to read my journal. So to fix this I. I decided to just. Use Ford's substitution cipher whenever I wanted to vent or write private things. I memorized it a while ago and I can do it pretty fast.
Con: It takes me over twice as long to read entries in cipher.
Pro: They can't read what I'm writing, because even if they watch the show I doubt they have it memorized. Mission accomplished!
Con: It probably looks like I'm writing in some sort of witchcraft language, which isn't great in a church.
Pro: I get to see some baffled looks sometimes whenever I look behind me or write on a whiteboard.
Pro: Some people ask about it which means I get to infodump as much as I think I can about ciphers and codes before they realize their mistake. This is great, especially since my church has whiteboards scattered around sometimes.
In conclusion, there are more pros than cons, and I see no problems with this. Be weird, everyone!
Warm regards,
Sam
I don't consider myself a writer but...
Me today: hmm, I wonder how many words I've written. I mean, I don't write much but I have a decent little collection of this one storyline.
Me, copy-pasting all the random chapters and stories into one doc, watching the word count go higher and higher: hmm...
Me, seeing that I have over 52 thousand goddamn words for a fanfic with a damn OC/self-insert: what the H-E-Double Fork.
Me: huh, wonder what that means for my little side project then, cause that one's barely anything, right? Just one I dabble with every now and then, nothing more.
The "little" project in question: 22.5 thousand words.

Finished the outline for this page today; still not sure how I want to go about shading larger areas so leaving it like this for now. Looks basic but whatever. Still hate cursive. Also imagine having such a massive hubris that you fall for Bill's flattery--it would take a lot more to inflate my pathetic little ego. My ego is currently a bookend in my brain. My ego is a coaster getting soggier by the minute from a Sprite can. It is Shrodinger's cat. It's the pen that ran out of ink forever ago but I keep forgetting and try to use it every couple of days and still forget to throw away. It's the bag of DnD dice I haven't properly used in like a year but only bring out to shake it violently so I get dopamine from the clicky clacky sounds.
Anyways Warm Regards,
Sam

Almost done with these pages :) I'm not done with the Cursed Doors pages quite yet (or at least enough that I would want to post) but still wanted to put somethin' out there. I hated drawing this man's damn hands (both the portrait and the damn x-ray), but ya know it's not horrible so it's okay. I also like to think that my cursive is getting better, but after a bit my hands always get shaky :/
I'm not quite sure how to do the brown shading that's on these pages (and lots of others) but I can always come back to them later to touch them up.
Warm Regards,
Sam

Eh, mostly done anyways. Thought I might as well throw it up here since I don't have much else done. Have no idea how I'm going to go about all the photographs in this darn book; might paint/draw them, might print them all out at once. Or I could just look up what other people did, but then I would just be seeing people who are much better than me doing the same thing and I would like to not crush what little ego I have thank you very much.
Anyways If you look at the 'E' in Eyeballs you can see my failed attempt at using glow-in-the-dark paint for the blacklight entry. Didn't think to test it out first and it immediately bled... lesson learned. Anyways I'm getting better at the writing part of these entries so future posts will include better laid-out cursive (still hate it though).
Warm Regards,
Sam

Thought I might as well put this page here cause it's fully done; I've finished the Floating Eyes and bat pages except for the photos (still need to find the care to draw them out) so I'll post those when they're done. This is definitely one of my favorite projects. Actually, it's the largest project I've attempted by far, and it's already given me many conversation points (it's about 50/50 someone cares to hear about ciphers though. I always carry 5 different types on me).
If someone has any tips or advice as I remake this book, please let me know! especially with weathering the book in a way that doesn't ruin the writing/art. I tea-stained all 3 books I'll be using but it just doesn't look right. If you think it looks fine and I'm focusing too much on it, also let me know!
Warm Regards,
Sam

Hello! First actual post; thought I might as well put it out there that I'm recreating Journal 3 from Gravity Falls. I am not a hardcore fan, on account of the fact that I don't even know what that entails or know a whole lot about any piece of media. I like the show a lot though, and like crafts. Still trying to figure out how to do the blacklight portions, cause I tried glow-in-the-dark paint and accidentally smudged some ink :/
This isn't a great page, mostly cause I was still trying to find the best way to set up the cursive sections. Also, I don't actually have a physical copy of the book and instead trying my best with a pdf version.
I've got more pages done but progress is slow so I'll just post whenever. If you want to chat (chat? message?) go ahead; still trying to figure out how the interweb works though.
Warm Regards,
Sam
What to do with this
I think I'm just going to keep making posts because I'm bored and it's Sunday. Uuuuuhhh I guess I should tell the Tumblr void about myself... right? Sure. Sounds about right.
So yeah I'm 17, and have been homeschooled for almost my whole life. It's nice, so long as you don't care to have a normal social life or teenage experiences. My brother, who's 15, is also homeschooled but somehow has a normal social life because of all the theater he does and makes connections there.
Let's see. I'm asexual, agender/gender-neutral, and definitely on the aromantic spectrum. Not sure if I'm demi-aro or grey-aro, but suffice it to say I'm lacking a lot in the attraction department. My brother calls me gay whenever people aren't looking, and I'm too tired to correct him at this point. I prefer they/them pronouns, but I think I would enjoy the occasional neopronoun (as a treat).
In terms of what I like, I'm inconsistent with my media consuming, but I enjoy art (even though I'm horrid 95% of the time, the other 5% is great), journaling (I'm on my 7th, I started in 2022 as a New-Year's resolution), and traveling. Traveling is a favorite of mine, though it's not like I can do that every day.
Anyways yeah. Have a nice day.
Warm Regards,
Sam
"blog"? do you mean the void?
wowie I have no idea what the fork I'm doing. I'm 17, sheltered, and the word blog looks like a typo to me. I feel like it should just be "log". Anyways, I shouldn't even be here. The only form of social media I've had for 5 years is Pinterest and honestly that's enough for me. I guess I'll just shout into the void and hope to feel like a normal teenager or something. If you interact with me I will become immensely confused but go along with whatever at this point. I think this'll just be my cringe compiling of thoughts I don't care to put in even my journals. Oh, and have a lovely day.
Warm Regards,
Sam
