Here’s the thing that I believe every person who loved Denis Villeneuve’s Dune saga should know. I know many people are not fond of reading literature and it’s okay, because I have seen people misunderstanding Dune: Part 2 as the second sequel known as “Dune: The Messiah.”

But sadly we are wayyy far to even dream about watching Dune: The Messiah any time soon. The book “Dune” itself is divided into 3 sections:

1. Dune

2. Maud’Dib

3. The Prophet

And Denis Villeneuve is following the old custom of the production of this franchise just like his predecessors. Dune was created via series/multiple movie format which was subdivided into showcasing one of the prequel literature known as “The Butlerian Jihad” (The holy war between AI and Human race) and later diving them accordingly as per the book content. In short, Dune: part 1 denoted “Dune” and Dune: Part 2 denoted “Maud’Dib”. And hopefully Dune: part 3 will be based on “The Prophet.” Once Dune is done, we can think further ahead to witness Dune: The Messiah and so on.
