Sims 4 trees hurt my eyes

Like, why aren't the tree leaves nice and defined and delicate, they're just blobs of green 😭😭

I only really like that one tree from cottage living debug with the string lights cus the leaves actually are separated and look delicate and nice and y'know, LIKE LEAVES

With many of us now using the EA app instead of Origin, and with a pretty huge update to the game just around the corner, it’s worth checking if you have automatic game updates enabled.

If you use mods and/or cc in your game you can expect a hefty amount of breakage and chaos in the days following such a big update. 

To avoid having to take out all your mods and cc, if EA app works the same way as Origin did, you can instead turn off automatic game updates so the patch doesn’t apply, and then go offline. That way you can continue to play with all your old mods and cc until the modders and content creators have updated them. It gives YOU control over when and how you update.

From the main menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner of the EA app click on SETTINGS

Next, click on DOWNLOAD

Underneath the Updates section, turn off UPDATE GAMES AUTOMATICALLY (it is OFF in my picture above)

Go back to the main menu icon and click GO OFFLINE

You can now play The Sims 4 without the latest update automatically installing.

Of course, if you simply can’t wait to play the new update (and I won’t blame you, it looks great!) remember to expect lots of broken things and consider removing your mods and cc and starting a fresh save while you check out the new fun things, and keep your regular save games on hold for when your favourite content is updated.

It's not looking good for converting presets over to reshade... Idk y'all 🫤

I've been trouble shooting for the past two days and nothing looks the same. It's possible it would look the same if you had backed up shaders from Gshade but I'm not sure of the safety of that?? And I don't want to run the risk of anyone's computer for pretty screenshots.

Idk what to do tbh

A game issue and the next patch

Are you getting this error message when you try to open your game? "Unable to start: Initialization error at start up." Windows Defender might be defending you a bit too enthusiastically. And about that patch coming in ten days...   If you haven't watched the livestream for the patch and pack, you might want to set aside a couple of hours. If not, you can check my notes on it starting here. It will break All the Things. Okay, not all of them, technically, but at the very least all the usual CAS UI mods, the Simology panel UI mods, the Sim pie menu reorganization mods and mods that add something on them, the custom traits, the CC doors and gates, the CC bassinets and baby outfits... 

At least it will make your high chair behaviour mods obsolete, though! Still, back up your saves! And maybe plan on playing mod-free for a bit.

how i have been updating eye cc

in warehouse, i set the AgeGender's value to "000030FE" for one swatch. then, on the same swatch in studio, i apply to all swatches. boom! works for all ages, including infants!
