Part 1

TW: Blood/Injury Donnie didn’t talk for a while after he was rescued. His brothers tried to figure out what had happened to him during the week he’d been gone but he didn’t say a word. In a quiet moment, shaking through the aftermath of a nightmare, he started to talk. Voice hushed and a little rough from disuse but with Kendra’s close proximity to him she could hear every word.  And when he was done she started joking and it made him feel lighter than before. He knew then, that it was the right decision to tell her. He loved his brothers but he didn’t think he would have been able to handle how sorry they felt for him, the pity in their eyes, the fear of them seeing him as something fragile.  Even though he probably looked pretty pathetic, curled into that embrace right there, he still felt elevated and safe.
