There is the beaded fitted bodice, the flowing train of tulle trailing behind you, and the gossamer veil placed upon your head with flowers woven through your hair. The barest traces of pale pink lipstick grace your lips, and faint shimmery eye shadow lay on your eyelids. Mascara is placed on your eyelashes carefully, and the slightest hint of blush is applied to the apples of your cheeks.

And yet, under all that, there it is.

The naturally glowing look of a blushing bride.

You spin around in front of the three-way mirror, surrounded by your chattering bridesmaids and your mother, but the only thing you can hear is the increasing thudding of your heartbeat. Today is going to be the happiest day of your life, the day you officially start the next chapter in your story with your beloved, the day you become Mrs. Min.

Today is going to be your day.

Sundays were meant to be boring. Uneventful. You neither liked nor disliked them; they were simply there, suspended between Saturdays and Mondays like a piece of dust floating aimlessly through the wind. It was the one day in the week that required hardly any thought at all- just sleep in, buy groceries, and catch up on chores or your favourite shows, that was all. No surprises, no hard work. You hardly ever broke out of that routine of doing nothing, and if on the rare occasion that you did, it was usually because of some external force that was beyond your realm of control.

So when you received a strange text one particular Sunday afternoon- a simple two worded message from a number not recognized by your phone- you immediately knew that somewhere, somehow, the equilibrium of the universe had been tipped precariously, and that, in turn, was going to throw everything you had known to be true off balance.
