This is a thread explaining what Wooyoung's medical condition is. This is not just some heat rash like some people are acting, it's a chronic illness that can become very serious if not treated. Send him all the love and support right now.

Begging for tinytown to realize that urticaria is a chronic illness, not something you just get from being in the sun for too long. I’ve had flare-ups ever since I was a little kid but it’s normal for ppl with urticaria to not get them until they’re well into their twenties.

Flare-ups are random and vary in severity. Sure there can be external factors that exacerbate symptoms but typically the timing of flare-ups (especially when you don’t even know the problem exists in the first place!) is not something you can control at all. On top of that, chronic illnesses (especially ones like heat urticaria) are really hard to diagnose. You can be allergic to anything and any kind of temperature urticaria is really rare so it’s even hard for doctors to know what could be causing those kinds of hives/rashes.

We also don’t know the specifics of WY’s diagnosis timeline, only that he had to go to the doctor three times. If he had to visit a specialist three times, that means he probably wasn’t diagnosed until long after Coachella bc it takes a lot of time to seek a 2nd or 3rd opinion. Obviously I’m not a doctor, and I’m only speaking from my own experience as somebody with urticaria, but it’s very possible he’s had it his whole life and the heat at Coachella was just the catalyst for him to have a reaction severe enough to seek medical help.

If he’s having his first major flare up, exerting himself to perform at an outdoor summer festival could literally cause an anaphylactic reaction, and will do far more long-term damage than few short outdoor fan meetings in Korea ever would. Lastly putting the blame on KayQueue for WY being diagnosed with an extremely rare chronic illness is stupid when he’s probably had it his whole life. I have my own criticisms for the company but frankly this is something they ALSO have no control over.
