I just reada really good fic but halfway through I realized "oh shit this is really familiar.... didn't I write something like this once?" And as I kept reading I kept predicting what happened next and the further I went the more convinced I was that they'd ripped off my story-

like, copied the ENTIRE plot and re-written it, just better than I had? The characters were more fleshed-out than mine were, and the POV was more interesting, and the pace made more sense- but it was MY STORY?

So close to the end I was like "holy shit.. do I message them? Ask if my story inspired theirs? Should I be angry? Flattered?" Cause their tags and description didn't mention me AT ALL, which, sure, it's fanfiction to begin with, but if you're using my work than at least credit me as inspo, right? Just to be courteous?

But I get to the end of the final chapter, and it's not finished, and I'm kind of disappointed cause I never finished my story and I was really immersed in their version now and had been looking forwards to seeing how they tied up my loose ends- so I scroll to the bottom to leave a comment, and.

Character Reveal: Pile

So not all bosses are created equal. While there’s stern and organized bosses like Windy, there’s also… not as assertive bosses like Pile, the Supervisor of the Cloud Domain.

Pile is a very “friendly” boss. He doesn’t like to micromanage, doesn’t like to do a lot of paperwork, and isn’t as fond of conflict. By consequence, he’s given a lot of his workers the autonomy (or rather, they took it) to make decisions for themselves for their day to day tasks.

However, Pile, the overly creative visionary that he is, does a good job at outlining his ideas and concepts for cloud development, which in effect, inspire his workers and leaving them in awe, leaving his subordinate manager to take care of the rest. This working relationship somehow manages to work.

Pile is a bit of a hoarder, and collects things, notably items from Earth that he makes a “cloud copy” of, and leaves them in his towering office. His obsession of earthly things leads him to be very knowledgeable on Earth, it’s workings, and its inhabitants. He also draws “inspiration” from his collection, and uses these ideas when designing/architecting clouds.

Pile, I would say, was one of the hardest characters for me to design, mostly because of the amount of ideas I had for him, ultimately, with the help of several artists (Clipey, KeysaMoguri, Komoroshi, and deadstraybear), he’s now a pretty big, simple, and lovable Kermode bear.

  Also, some trivia: Pile was actually one of the first commissions I asked of Clipey (see above), which ultimately led to me recruiting him 😉

i had to work receiving today because no one else came in and a coworker said "we're the dock boys (referencing the receiving dock), they call us the dockers" and i literally spit all of my coffee out laughing and he was like "????" and i had to explain docking to a straight man it was a top 10 funny moment for me this year

sorry i can't come to work today, im already in doggy mode. yeah i already did a biiiiig stretch and flopped on the bed. yeah it was adorable as hell
