You stop dead as soon as you enter the room causing Taehyung to walk into your back. You fall forward, feet tripping over feet, hands going out to catch yourself. Larger, stronger hands reach out before you can face plant, catching you and pulling you steady.

There’s a deep chuckle as you’re pulled into Tae’s side. His hands going from grasping your arms to resting on your back, as if you might suddenly fall again and he wants to be there to catch you.

“So clutsy,” he chuckles, focus on the woman stood in the doorway. “Thanks for this though mum.”

You force a smile as Tae pulls you harder into his side. His soft yet firm side. His muscular arm pressing into your back. How have you never noticed that Taehyung is built like this? Almost definitely because you’ve never been this close to him before, the most physical contact being a handshake. But now, pushed flush against him you can’t ignore the fact; Tae isn’t podgy, he doesn’t have a dad bod, no, he’s muscular. And not that the thought should change your opinion of him, but you really hadn’t expected it, at least not to this degree.

The room suddenly feels very hot.

“I’ll leave you two to get settled.”

Taehyung’s mum drags you back to reality, her smile wide as her eyes flick between you and her son as you both dip into small bows. A pang of guilt goes through you as your eyes meet hers. She looks proud and happy. But this isn’t real, it’s all a lie, and even if it looks like you’re achieving the goal Taehyung set, you still feel bad lying to this lady.

You wait a second after the door closes to push away from Taehyung. Hate the fact that your first thought is that you miss his warmth. Instead, you focus on more important matters. Top of your list being the small double bed sat in the middle of the rom. The only bed in the room.

“What is this?” You hiss out, worried his mum might still be close enough to hear.

“A bed,” Tae says casually. Picking up his bag he moves further into the room, claiming a side of the bed while you remain frozen in your spot.

“Yeah, I can see that. One bed. Why is there only one bed?”

“Because believe it or not, we didn’t see a need for two beds when it was just me growing up in this room.”

“I don’t think you’re fully grasping the problem here. There’s only one bed and unless my maths is truly shit, there are two of us.”

“You should be happy it’s a double,” Taehyung pauses his unpacking long enough to shoot you a smile over his shoulder.

You want to hit him, maybe it’ll knock some sense into him. Because how can he be some calm and casual about this? How can he smile at a time like this?

“Wouldn’t your mum rather we slept separately?” You change tactic.

“I’m an adult. It’s the 21st century. She’s under no illusions as to what I get up to.”

“Not with me you don’t.”

“Well, she doesn’t know that.”

Again, that cheeky smile and again that desire to throttle him.

“I’m not sleeping with you.”

“There’s nowhere else. All rooms in this house are full for the wedding,” he pauses. “Unless you want to pay for a hotel? But then no one would be buying this relationship. Me here and you there. And we have a deal Y/N.”

“I don’t remember the deal including sleeping with you.”

“Next to me,” he corrects. “And the deal was to do anything to convince everyone this is real. Just for the week. Remember?”

You do remember, though you wish you didn’t and not for the first time you wonder if this was a massive mistake, if you could somehow get out of this. But just like every other time you remember why you’re doing this, why you need Taehyung and this deal. You glare at him as you move to the other side of the bed and start to unpack.

“You can sleep on the floor,” you say flatly.

“I’m not sleeping on the floor. This is my bed.”

“Well, you’re not sleeping in this bed with me.”

“I’m not the one with the issue here.”

You grind your teeth. You could sleep on the floor, but then you look at the narrow walkways and think of the week you’re staying here. Your back gives a twinge in protest as if already anticipating how it will feel if you decide to spend a week sleeping down there.

“You’re sleeping right on the edge,” you warn and for whatever reason a large smile blossoms on Tae’s face as if he’s got exactly what he wants. “I mean it Tae. I will not hesitate to build a pillow wall between us.”

“Yeah, yeah,” he brushes you away, taking his now empty bag and putting it up onto the top of cupboard. He starts towards the bedroom door, washbag in hand, pausing before he leaves. “I will warn you though, I’m a cuddler.”

He doesn’t give you a chance to retort, just takes his washbag and that shit eating grin and closes the door. You fall, face planting the bed before letting out a muffled groan. This is going to be the longest week of your life.
