My entire problem with Zdarsky's Batman is that he flattens characters relationships in order to push this "we're a family :)" plotline. These characters are way more complicated than that and their relationship with Bruce has always been complicated and Zdarsky seems to just brush that aside.

Also it's just BAD WRITING in my opinion. You should need to tell me they are a family multiple times every issue.

Plus he wants to talk about them being family soooooo bad but Cass is ALWAYS there as an afterthought. And some of these characters (STEPH) have never even thought of Bruce as their dad and they don't have that relationship with him????

And I'm not even gonna touch the bad Damian writing. If there's one thing Zdarsky does consistently, it's write Damian terribly and completely misunderstand his character.

Also like the batfam constantly being all together is getting so annoying in modern comics. The cast is just too big and you can't give ALL the characters the care they deserve when you are constantly trying to shove them all in each issue. A lot of the older comics built up these characters and their relationships to each other in such a good way BECAUSE they had room to breathe in the issues where they did team up.
