Hey Its Been A While Are You Thinking Of Continuing Game Of Hearts?
hey its been a while are you thinking of continuing game of hearts? 🤨
*cough* it’s been about a year so I can’t fault you for asking 😅 to be honest I’m not sure! It’s been so long that I’d definitely need to read what I’ve wrote so far before trying to continue. Season 2 is coming out next month so chances are I’ll probably get some inspo when I watch it!!

not enough people talk about the inherent romanticism of a vampire biting the inside of your thigh, or your chest just over your heart....immaculate
IM ALIVE KING JULIANN 😫😫 listen, listen, listen, I KNOW I haven’t been active in like five months but I come with good news that chapter 5 of game of hearts will be out soon!!! Possible this next coming weekend! And honestly I was going through aib manga again just to refresh my mind and during one the last panels with Chishiya I have come with headcanons!
Before the borderlands I firmly believe that Chishiya was not outwardly ruthless and cold hearted
He’s in med school (presumably to be a doctor) 😠like the man has to learn to have bedside manners (and it occurred when I was re-reading his flashback)
But it struck me that like, he probably learned early on in his life (most likely during elementary school) that being wholly himself is seen as cold and unacceptable and while he didn’t understand some peoples harsh reactions to things he’d say casually
(think a classmates dog just died and Chishiya would casually remarked its just an animal and it doesn’t truly feel or is cognitively aware the way humans are and the volatile reaction he’d get from that, which would leave him at an early age confused as to why)
so he adapted to the world around him and learned what was socially acceptable and what is not
I’m talking like- I totally see Chishiya presenting himself the same way Light Yagami would to the world. Charismatic, nice, a gentleman through and through, like the perfect man a girl would want to take home to meet her parents, a friend you could rely on to help you out when you’re in need, all that good stuff
He’d totally play cookie cutter happy family despite being alienated from (presumably) both his parents
This isn’t to say he’s perfect at playing the role though, sometimes it’s just too much, too tedious, too tiresome to put up with and cracks in the mask occasionally can be seen. A surprisingly edged remark during a game of chess, a condescending correction to an annoying classmate during a lecture, in happens mainly in little things
Not enough to give him a reputation but just enough that if someone is perceptive enough, they know it’s a facade
And he does it all under the guise of it just being easier to get what he wants. So he’s nearly perfect until he entered the borderlands where all of these niceties don’t matter anymore. Bedside manners and all immediately gone and out comes the hardened cold shell of a person that’s been there the whole time.
Bonus headcanon (maybe spoiler-ish??? not really??)
Re-reading the manga it’s said that what incited Chishiya’s curiosity in trying to find fascination in life, was the Mona Lisa, and how a theory said it was secretly him dressed as a woman, and how everyone wanted to be seen for who they truly were.
I don’t know, it just struck me that, maybe the reason he befriended Kuina because she reminded him of that and maybe, just maybe, he deeply admired her for being seen as she truly is
the pandemic starting with tiger king and ending with the fall of the british monarchy is chaos magic
The fact that Aguni managed to squeeze his way into a "lovers to enemies" trope, "redeemed villain" trope, "mean, lonely man with a heart of gold" trope AND the "found family" trope really goes to show this man wanted to cause chaos.
the writers choosing to insert Chishiya into the Jack of hearts game was easily the hottest decision they ever made
