Did Someone Mention... Necks?
Did someone mention... necks?
(MY GOD MONSTER I THOUGHT WE AGREED NEVER TO SHOW THAT AGAIN)
I made no such promise.
(In seriousness, I always thought of necks in Sonic as the little stubby ones you get a glimpse of in the Sonic CD animations. Nails... well of course he has nails I mean geez.)
this talk of sonic having fingernails is very distressing to me
my eternal headcanon is he doesn’t have them and his SSB4 model is just weird and different and maybe it’s folds in the glove fabric and the Werehog only has them because he grew them in transformation and they’re more like claws than actual fingernails and no one is going to tell me otherwise

(Ah ha hah I meant to post this 4 days ago but I've been busy, so here you go, late art of were-Monster)
Send "Smooch!" for a reaction to my muse suddenly being kissed by yours.
(As much as "werehog" rubs me the wrong way from an etymology standpoint, I understand why SEGA named him that. It's very easy to interpret and understand, and doesn't come with the connotation of him being a "wolf", cause it's not technically lycanthropy, it's a monster form caused by Dark Gaia.
Werehog isn't perfect, but as names go it gets the job done, and that's all that matters. ...Plus yeah, it's freaking hilarious.)
Is my writer ranting about the whole werehog thing AGAIN?
(Quiet you.)
((My pet peeve in this fandom is when people try to make up “better” synonyms for werehog and fail miserably.
I don’t mind silly things like manpig or hedgewolf, but come on.
Come on you guys, werehog is comedy gold.))
((Sadly, yeah... :( )) *falls back in front of you as a werehog* I think you mean it DESCENDED quickly *faceplants the ground*
*Watches the werehog faceplant* o3o; Uh, need a hand there? *Goes and pulls him out of the ground*
(Precisely! ...Unless we're talking Night of the Werehog, then the werehog form acted almost exactly like lycanthropy, but then again, it was a one-off and was more than likely just implementing common werewolf tropes as horror movie homages.
Sonic's just got this strange sliding scale of anthro-animal going on that can be hard to quantify. Sometimes he acts completely human, sometimes he does a cute little animal thing. And it gets even more blurred if you count stuff he's done in the shows and comics ie. the little growl Sonic sometimes does in Sonic X, or his tongue curling when he yawns in the Archie comic.
BE A MAN! YOU MUST BE SWIFT AS A COURSING RIVER! WITH ALL THE FORCE OF A GREAT TYPHOON!)
... *Looks at Sonic* They might be going at this for a while. Wanna grab a chili dog?
(MYSTERIOUS AS THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOOOOOON!)
