After quite a while, I finally managed to adapt these fun shark anatomy illustrations to Redbubble products! Many asked me to make posters or art prints available for sale and it is now possible in my little store! This is my store’s profile! ✨

Shopping for laptops fucking sucks ‘cause I don’t know shit about computers. I’ve never had a computer with a functional webcam or microphone or the ability to play computer games made later than 2005 or a speaker that could play anything loud enough to hear from more than a foot away. How the hell should I know what I want?!

Allusions/References to Greek Mythology with Bronya and Seele.

Bronya and Seele’s story is Orpheus and Eurydice except they get a happy ending because Bronya isn’t an idiot like Orpheus and Seele learns to protect herself and Bronya.

Quick recap/vast simplification of the story of Orpheus and Eurydice: Orpheus is the best musician around and plays the lyre and he’s in love with Eurydice and they get married. One day some dude tries going after Eurydice while Orpheus isn’t around and she runs away from him in a forest but a snake bites her and she dies. Orpheus is sad and heads to the Underworld to convince Hades to get his wife back. Hades says “Yeah sure but you can’t look at her until you reach the Upperworld”. Orpheus looks back with the exit in sight and Eurydice can’t go back with him. He plays depressing music and is emo so a bunch of women kill him for ruining the vibe.

If you’ve played story chapters 10-12 and read the Azure Waters comic then the parallels are pretty clear. Seele is sent into the Sea of Quanta. Bronya goes to get her love back. The specifics of the story can change and there are lots of similar myths like Ishtar going to the Underworld and getting saved by the creation of non-binary people, everyone in all the nin realms wanting Baldur back from Hel, and Izanagi and Izanami (except Izanagi sees his wife and runs away cause she looks like a corpse).

This is why Seele has so many Greek references to Greek mythology despite being Estonian. The only references to Baltic mythology are Saule and Veliona, the Goddess of the Sun and Life and the Goddess of the Underworld and Dead respectively, which are her two forms for her Stygian Nymph battlesuit.

Just to quickly go through some of the Greek mythology references, starting with Swallowtail Phantasm.

Her basic attack skill is called Shear of Phantasos. Phantasos is one of the 1000 sons of Sleep. His name translates to Fantasy. Swallowtail Phantasm has many skills that are names after dreams and fantasy as well.

Her leader skill is Azure Nymph and nymphs were minor nature deities found in Ovid’s Metamorphoses associated with a single entity like a mountain, river, forest, or ocean.

Her signature weapon is called Undine’s Tale, and undines were water spirits in classical literature as well. They lack a soul and can only gain one by marrying/falling in love with a human.

Stygian Nymph is the one who has A TON of allusions to Greek mythology.

First off, the battlesuit is called Stygian Nymph. Sytgian means relating to the river Styx, the river one must cross to enter the underworld. and I’ve already explained Nymph. So she’s a Nymph of the River Styx and if we take that meaning into the game, it’s like saying she’s a Nymph of the Sea of Quanta, which fits her very well.

Her skills have Greek everywhere.

Avenging Erinyes, Erinyes, better known as the Furies were cthonic deities of vengeance. Cthonic Fury: Cthonic refers to anything related to the underword of any mythology. It’s a common misconception that it means “related to Cthulu”. Spirit of Keres: Keres, female spirits that feast upon those who died violent deaths. Spirit of Moirai: Moirai, the Fates, the guide destiny and have powers over the limits and end of life. Eros and Eris: Eros is the God of Love and Sex, Eris is the Goddess of Strife and Discord.

Her signature weapon, Path to Acheron, is named after the river Acheron, one of the rivers to the Underworld and the dead must cross it to enter.

In conclusion, I dunno, I think they’re cute and I’m happy their story went well compared to every other underworld story.
