đđđđđđđ: tsu'tey x fem!na'vi reader đđđđđđđđ: heavy themes of war, injury, weapons, blood, violence, angst, fluff đđđđ đđđđđ: 1.5k

you could never erase the image from your memory. how you hid under the table as gunfire raged throughout the classroom and tsu'tey held you in his arms, whispering that everything was going to be okay. grace hid behind the desk at the front of the classroom as she hopelessly looked towards the terrified faces of those that she had sworn to protect.
a few young na'vi had set an rda bulldozer on fire in protest of the humans treatment of the na'vi and their land, and had subsequently been chased back to the school as rda soldiers followed with raised guns.
it had felt like hours before the gunfire died down. only when he was sure it was safe, tsu'tey turned to you with pure panic laced on his features as he examined you for injuries.
'tey...' you trailed off, lifting a hand to his forehead which had a large gash in it, causing blood to fall down his pale face.
'i am okay. i promise.' he dismissed as he continued to search you for injuries. your ears were ringing as other members of the school began to cry out and grace shakily grabbed an ear piece from her desk.
'the school has endured an attack! i repeat, the school has endured an attack! we need aid!'

'this is no place for you to grow up!' your mother cried as she continued to pack whatever she could. you watched her with tears in your eyes as you desperately looked around your childhood home.
'mother, this is our home! we cannot just leave!' your mind instantly thought of tsu'tey and your heart dropped in your chest at the thought of having to leave him behind. the two of you were inseparable and your parents loved him; knowing that he would be a permanent part of your life and welcoming him into your family. but now, the future that you had hoped to share with him was hanging in the balance.
your father stepped forward, pulling you close to him as he fought back tears.
'it is too dangerous here.' he whispered as your heart sank. 'we could have lost you today. no parent should ever have to bury their child and yet so many have had to prepare to do that today. we cannot stay here.' his tone was heartbroken but resolute; and you knew that the decision had been made.

you didn't even have time to deliver the news to tsu'tey yourself. instead, he watched from the distance as you and your family ran off into the night; his heart shattering as he realised you were being taken away from him. tsu'tey had never questioned eywas reasonings before, but in that moment, he looked up to the sky and begged her for an answer.

it had been two years since you had left your home behind. two years since you had arrived at the tayrangi clan and had been taken in. while your new life was good, you longed for your true home. you spent many nights quietly crying yourself to sleep as you mourned your old life; thinking of your friends and of tsu'tey. you missed the nights that the two of you would sneak out to go flying together or the afternoons you would spend together soaking up the sun in the forest.
but when a rumours spread of a dreamwalker by the name of jake sully from the omatikaya clan who had taken on the title of toruk makto and was to lead the na'vi in a war against the sky people; your blood ran cold. you thought of tsu'tey and your heart ached. you thought back to his terrified face as the two of you hid under the classroom table and how it quickly morphed into that of vengeance and anger. you knew that he would put his life on the line for pandora and that you wouldn't know a moments peace until the war was over.

you sat on your bed, staring out at the setting sun with tired eyes as you anxiously drummed your fingers against your thigh. it had been a few days since the tayrangis olo'eyktan and many of the clans warriors had left to help fight in the great war and you hadn't had a moments rest; physically or mentally. you were unable to do anything but await the news of the wars outcome and had prayed to eywa to keep tsu'tey safe; to keep him and your friends safe.
just as you felt your eyes finally begin to flutter shut, shouting could be heard in the distance. your eyes instantly flung open and you ran to the entrance of your pod, looking out as a wide smile adorned your face. the olo'eyktan and warriors had returned; proudly shouting of their victory against the sky people. nyva appeared by your side, nudging her shoulder with your own.
'i hear the omatikaya has a new olo'ekytan... he led them well in the war.' she spoke with a grin.
'really?' you questioned, a smile still plastered on your face as you watched the clan celebrate.
'really.' she echoed. '...his name is tsu'tey.' you instantly turned your head to face her; your heart skipping a beat as your eyes widened.
'he... he is okay?' you questioned as tears began to well in your eyes.
'he is.' she wrapped an arm around your shoulder as you leaned into her touch. relief washed over you as you screwed your eyes shut and silently sent thanks to eywa; feeling a solace that you had not felt in a long time. 'there is a celebration at the omatikaya in two days time.' she whispered as your mind began to race at a dizzying speed.

your heart fluttered as the hometree came into view and you began to notice many familiar, smiling faces celebrating all around. the bioluminescence of the forest cast a soft glow upon the land and the beat of the ceremonial drum echoed throughout the night. you took a deep breath as you stepped foot into the structure. only seconds later, you heard a familiar voice call out your name before neytiri came running towards you; flinging her arms around you and pulling you into a tight embrace.
'welcome home.' she whispered as tears of happiness began to pool in your eyes.
'i have missed you.' you cried, hugging her tighter before your eyes drifted over her shoulder and to a tall man stood behind her. you pulled away before looking down at the mans fingers and a soft smile adorned your face. 'you must be the famous jake sully.' you chuckled as he sent you a bright smile.
'in the flesh.' you stepped towards him, hugging him tightly.
'thank you... for everything that you have done.'
'of course.' as you pulled away, he reached out a hand to neytiri and intertwined his fingers with hers. your eyes darted between the two of them in shock as realisation set in.
'are you...' you trailed off as neytiri nodded with a wide smile. your heart felt full as you looked to your friend - she looked truly happy. you were about to ask for all of the details before neytiri cut you off; her gaze fixated on something behind you.
'find us later. it is good to see you.' she smiled softly as she nodded towards jake; walking away and leaving you laced with confusion.
'yawne.' a velvety voice whispered as you froze. a lump formed in your throat and your eyes widened, your heart sinking slightly in your chest. you slowly turned around; coming face to face with tsu'tey. he still looked like the man that knew, only with a few new scars that were not there before scattering his form. his eyes were heavy as he looked down at you through his lashes; the smile that you had fallen in love with all those years ago adorning his lips.
'tey.' you breathed as tears began to fall from your eyes. he instinctively pulled you into his chest; his fingers finding themselves tangled in your hair. he rubbed his large hand along your back, finding it hard to fight back his own tears.
'it is okay.... it is okay.' he soothed as you sobbed into him. his warmth offered you complete solace; the same way that it always had.
'i was so afraid. i thought that you-'
'you are home now.' he pulled away to look at you, bringing his thumb towards your cheek to brush away your tears. he smiled softly towards you, his hand gently falling to rest on your waist.
'i am so sorry, tey. i wanted to come home... i did, but...' you trailed off, your words getting caught in your tight throat.
'you are okay. that is all that matters.' he promised, his fingertips drawing circles into your skin. his gaze sent butterflies to swarm your stomach as the two of you locked eyes and all the love that you held for him came rushing to the surface. 'i wanted to make this clan safe for you to return to. it is what got me through the war... the thought of seeing you again.' he pulled you into to him, allowing his eyes to flutter shut as he basked in your warmth. 'i cannot bear to lose you a second time.' he whispered; his voice wavering slightly as his hold on you tightened.
'i am not going anywhere.' you breathed. 'i promise.'

wonder what he got?? maybe stuff for his daughterđșđș

my dream is to meet him at sephora
Hi darling! Hereâs my Tsuâtey requestđ
Okay so I was thinking about human reader (sheâs like a scientist, friend of jake or sm) and Tsuâtey is whipped but he also has the emotional range of a rock (just on the outside, heâs actually a big softy) like heâs trying to court her but she doesnât notice bc he never says anything just like shoves food her way, or drops flowers on her lap and then bolts. Heâs showing off his hunting skills and sheâs like âcool, what a nice guyâ. And sheâs saying all the nice things he does to Jake, and heâs like âgirl, heâs courting youđ€šâ and whatever else you likeâš
I just thought that since he was promised to Neytiri, he probably never courted anyone before and he always has a poker face so reader would be clueless (but she likes him so itâs ok)
I tried not to make it too specific so sorry if I did, and Iâve never really requested anything so I hope this is okđ

hi my lovely đ this was so fun to write - 'emotional range of a rock' really made me laugh so i included in this fic !! i hope that you like it xx

đđđđđ đđ đ đđđđ

đđđđđđđ: tsu'tey has never been very upfront with feelings, causing you to misinterpret his advances as nothing more than kindness đđđđđđđ: tsu'tey x fem!human reader + some jake x reader (platonic) đđđđđđđđ: hunting, weapons, fluff đđđđ đđđđđ: 1.1k

you sat outside the lab, soaking up the afternoon sun as you listened intently to the sounds of the nearby forest. you took in a deep breath, the smell of the rain soaked grass filling your nose and offering you pure solace. but, your brows soon furrowed as the sun seemingly disappeared. you looked up to see jake in his avatar, towering over you with a fangy grin.
'move! you're blocking the sun!' you laughed, motioning wildly for him to get out of your way. he rolled his eyes, taking a seat next to you and bumping your shoulder with his body.
'yeah, yeah. nice to see you too.' you had been spending a lot of time with the omatikaya clan as of recent, and it was nice; it meant you got to spend more time with jake. the two of you had come to pandora together and had developed a really strong friendship. jake pulled out wrapping of yovo fruit from his pouch, handing it to you with a smile.
'how's neytiri?' you asked, lifting up your mask quickly to pop a piece of fruit into your mouth. jake sat back on his elbows, looking to the clear sky.
'she's good.' he spoke with a fondness in his voice. 'she was askin' after you. she wants you join us for dinner at the clan tonight.'
'sounds good.' you agreed. 'but, i might have to bring my own food. last time i tried some yerik⊠it wasn't pretty.' you shuddered at the thought.
'yeah, takes some gettin' used to. would be nice to have you there, though.' jake chuckled before looking at you from the corner of his eye. 'tsu'tey was askin' after you too.'
'oh, he's cool. he showed me how to shoot an arrow yesterday.' this caught jakes attention; causing him to spring up and furrow his brows.
'he taught you? like⊠voluntarily?' you shrugged, not understanding the big deal.
'yeah⊠not everyone is as unlikable as you. people actually like spending time with me.' you jeered.
'shut up.' jake pushed you slightly, forgetting how much bigger he was than you and sending you tumbling towards the ground with a thud. 'shit! sorry.' he sheepishly smiled, helping you up.

'...right into the mud!' takuk laughed, telling the story of how jake had fared on his recent pa'li ride.
'ha, ha. funny.' he mocked, throwing a piece of fruit towards his friend.
'it is nice to have you here.' neytiri whispered towards you as the boys continued to jest.
'thanks for the invite.' you beamed. 'it can get pretty lonely at the lab.' tsu'tey approached the group, taking a seat next to you and pushing a plate of food towards you. 'oh, thank you... but i can't eat this. it's not good for the human stomach.' you awkwardly smiled. tsu'tey took a bite of his own food.
'it is safe for humans. i checked.' he reassured, not making eye contact.
'you checked? with who?' jake asked, looking around the hometree to the lack of experts on human food. tsu'tey sent him an irritated look.
'the scientist. the tall one.'
'norm? is he here?' you questioned.
'no. i went to their lab.' jake and neytiri shared a look that was noticed by tsu'tey before he waved his hand to dismiss the gesture. 'it was on my route.'
'thank you.' you smiled, looking down at the delicious looking food on your plate and feeling thankful to be able to eat something other than a pb&j sandwich.

you sat with your legs submerged in the river, looking up to the night sky above you that was adorned with a blanket of stars; the lab only a few paces behind you. you allowed your eyes to flutter shut, basking in the tranquillity of the nocturnal scene. but your heart soon jumped as you felt something fall into your lap; your eyes snapping open as you let out a yelp. you looked down and saw a collection of flowers, tied together with a green string and decorated with small beads. you raised your eyes and were surprised to see tsu'tey standing above you.
'for you.' he muttered, avoiding your gaze. before you could even open your mouth to thank him, he turned on his heels and disappeared back in the direction of the clan. you smiled softly to yourself. he must have heard you talking with neytiri about how it gets lonely at the lab sometimes.

you stared at the large fwampop that tsu'tey had hunted and dropped off at your doorstep this morning; you knew that it was tsu'tey that had left it by the distinctive arrow still stuck in its side.
'damn. catch that all by yourself?' jake chuckled with crossed arms as he walked towards you, making his daily visit. you placed a hand on your hip, examining the animal.
'nah, tsu'tey brought it here this morning... i'm not quite sure what i'm supposed to do with it.' jakes arms dropped from his chest and his mouth fell slightly open, before his gaze fixated on the glass jar in your other hand containing the small bouquet of flowers.
'did ya'... pick them yourself?' he chuckled awkwardly, gesturing towards the flowers.
'hm?' you questioned, following his gaze. 'oh. nah, tsu'tey dropped these in my lap last night and bolted. i was just on my way to put some river water in the jar.' you shrugged as jake blinked at you wildly. 'what? stop it, you look creepy.' you muttered, making your way down to the river.
'wha- surely you're not that dumb?!' he cried out, trailing closely behind you. you turned to him, raising a brow. 'the guys done research into what food you can eat, he's showing off his hunting skills...' he reached forward and swiped the jar of flowers from you.
'hey!' you shouted, jumping up to try and retrieve the gift.
'he brought you flowers!' he gawked.
'...so?' you questioned as the two of you stared at each other for a moment. then suddenly, it clicked. your mouth fell open as jake nodded madly. 'oh my god.'
'how the hell did it take you this long to realize?!' he bellowed, lifting the flowers out of the jar and smacking you over the head with them.
'i dunno! he has the emotional range of a rock, i- i thought he was just being nice!'
'you've got the damn brain of a rock.' jake sighed, shaking his head.

Forgiving love (Aonung x reader)

Masterlist
Description: Despite him pestering your twin and siblings, you couldnât help yourself - you fell for the tall Metkayina. You didnât expect it to be that hard.
Warnings: insecure reader, a lil angst (but happy ending as always) and danger, suggestive but no smut, Aged!up characters, Aonung is about 20 here and reader 18
9690 words
You really missed your home dearly, but you had to admit it was getting easier to bear the more you adjusted to the Metkayina way of life. At first you and your siblings had a hard time adjusting, but you were slowly getting the hang of it. Tsireya was a wonderful teacher, she was always so patient with all of you and really gave her best to help you, which wasnât always easy.
Your bodies were different and not made for the reefs, and that was something she couldnât change with her kindness, eventhough your twin looked at her as if she could move the stars. You thought it was cute, Tsireya seemed like the perfect match for your reckless and rulebreaking brother. He was your complete opposite, but thatâs what made you two work as twins, your calm and gentle nature grounding him and his outgoing character pulling you out of your shell.
Tsireyas brother was a different story. He was also assigned by his father - the Oloâeyktan - to teach you the way of their people, but he hated you all from the start. He called your brothers and Kiri demons, bullying them with his friends and acting like a total skxawng. And your heart still sped up everytime he was near you. He had never actually insulted you or anything though, your siblings just as confused about that as you. Maybe it was because he knew that Neteyam and Loâak would beat him for messing with their little sister - yes, Loâak insisted you were his younger sister, being born ten minutes before you.
You thought of the way Aonung had looked at you when you first arrived in Awaâatlu, his pretty blue eyes piercing yours with an intensity that still made your knees weak. He kept his distance, not being mean but also not being nice, just staring at you. It made you nervous, not being able to interpret what he meant with his stare - was it curiosity or disgust?
What you didnât know was that you had captured Aonungs attention from the moment he first laid his eyes on you. He thought you looked different, but he thought you were beautiful right away. He would never admit that of course, no matter how much his skin heated up when you looked at him, or how much his heart fluttered in his chest. He tried to deny and suppress any feelings that were blossoming, instead busying himself with harassing your siblings. Not you though - he couldnât bear the thought of you being sad because of him, no matter how much he hated himself for it.
They were supposed to teach you how to ride Ilus today, Loâak went first, probably trying to impress Tsireya. That didnât go the way he wanted it to though. You were standing in the water next to Tuk and Rotxo, giggling a little when your brother fell off his Ilu ungracefully. Tsireya had to laugh too, but the way she convinced your brother to try again assured you that she really liked him.
You couldnât stop your own eyes from finding their way to her brother, he was standing a little farther from you, laughing about your brother with his friends. It was in a different kind of way though - not in a happy, nice one, he was being mean. Your smile fell and when he met your eyes, you looked away quickly.
He hated how the smile faded on your face when you saw him and his friends laughing about your stupid brother, his own laugh stopping as well. The way you refused to meet his eyes made his chest feel constricted, and he decided just this once he would be nice to you. He left his slightly confused friends behind and made his way over to you, Rotxo seeing him and ushering away your little sister. That boy noticed more than he thought.
You were wondering why Rotxo took Tuk away, when suddenly you felt another presence next to you. â(Y/N)â, his voice was deep and the way he said your name sent a shiver down your back. âAonungâ, you couldnât help but smile shyly, your body betraying your mind.
His speech was momentarily disabled, his eyes wide while taking in your beautiful smile and blushed cheeks. âCome on, Iâll teach youâ, he kept it short, nodding his head to a spot a few meters away and turned around to go there. He could feel you following him, unconsciously clenching his back muscles with a smirk - he could feel your eyes roam over them.
You were confused - why was he offering to teach you? He hadnât been happy to help you all from the start, and now his sister was already teaching you - he couldâve easily gotten out of this one. So why was he anyway? He moved his hands through the water, pulling clicking noises from his throat to call for an Ilu. Eywa, why were the smallest things he did so attractive. When one of the Ilus stopped infront of him, he beckoned you over and you slowly made your way to stand next to him.
The tall Metkayina was towering over your small frame, placing his large hand on your back to push you in the direction of the animal. The Ilu turned its head, your hand automatically raising carefully to stroke its soft skin, happy noises leaving its throat. A smile spread across your face, the Ilus were really sweet. Suddenly two big hands grabbed your waist, completely engulfing it and picked you up without effort, setting you down on top of the large animal.
You let out a startled gasp, your small hands grabbing onto his and he couldnât help but chuckle at that. Eywa help him, you were so cute. It was so hard to pull his hands back, already missing the feeling of holding you before he even let go, but he did let go and stepped next to you. He couldnât help but lay one of his hands on your back, the more he was touching you the less he could control his feelings.
âMake tsaheylu and hold on sevinâ, you felt the blush spread down your neck when he called you pretty, you were so whipped for this man. You did as you were told, feeling the animal underneath you and holding on tightly. âYou need to hold on with your thighs at first, otherwise youâll fall like your brotherâ, he explained gripping your thigh firmly and putting it in the right position.
Your were speechless, where was all this affection and touchiness coming from? Your heart really couldnât keep up with this and your Ilu was consequently also restless underneath you. âMawey (Y/N), you need to calm downâ, he told you, but the smirk on his face was telling you he enjoyed this. His hand snuck to your waist to keep you steady and your face got even hotter.
âAonungâ, you could only manage to whisper, your voice not quite working and he enjoyed every second of your reaction to him. âWhat is it?â, he grinned and squeezed your waist, his big hand covering most of your back. âI canâtâ, you were shocked by how frozen you were under his gaze, you were shy most of the time, but he had you completely at his mercy.
âYou canât calm down? Why?â, he played dumb with you, stepping even closer and peering into your eyes from above. âYouâre touching meâ, you pressed out, ashamed by admitting he made you nervous, but you were never good at lying. One reason why Loâak didnât like to take you with him when he did something he wasnât supposed to.
Aonung chuckled at your confession, he loved your soft and innocent nature. âAlright pretty girl, letâs see what youâve gotâ, he squeezed your waist one last time before letting you go, and after a few deep breath (that seemed to go in and out easier now that he didnât have his hands on you) you gently urged your Ilu to move.
Unbeknownst to you your brothers were looking at the both of you with a scowl. âWhy the fuck is he touching her like thatâ, Loâak seethed, Tsireya was occupied with Tuk, and Kiri just rolled her eyes at her brothers. âYou two are really blindâ, she didnât like the Oloâeyktans son either, but he was obviously enamored with you, and maybe that would help them get accepted here faster. âWhat? What do you mean?â, Loâak was on high alert, after all you were his little twin sister he had to make sure you were okay. Kiri just walked over to Tsireya. âHey! Donât walk away!â, he called out and followed after her, Neteyam on his heels - he wasnât as loud in his concerns but he was just as wary about Aonung.
âââââââââ
You needed a break from your brothers constant questioning, you were just glad that your father hadnât heard them yet, you would probably never be allowed to go anywhere without an escort again. You had found an empty stretch of beach after dinner where you could have some peace and quiet for a while, just trying to process Aonungs touchiness over the last few days.
You were unsure what to make of it, he wasnât mean before but you still werenât convinced he was being genuine. Maybe he just liked to get a rise out of your brothers, he was always bullying them anyway. You were actually scared that he was messing with you, you really liked him, your feelings had only grown over the last few days with all that touching and calling you pretty. Your heart would be seriously broken if he wouldâve been playing with you, but it was your fault - you were playing right into his cards with your reactions.
Before you could sink into you dark thoughts too much, you heard footsteps in the sands and your ear twitched in annoyance. If Loâak was telling you to stop talking to Aonung again, you would kick him in the shin. âWhy so unhappy pretty girl?â, your heart skipped a beat when you heard Aonungs voice, his large body sitting down next to you at the shore.
The ocean was spending some light with its bioluminescence, and when you looked at him his freckles were glowing so prettily you couldnât help but blush. Eywa, your body was such a traitor. âJust my brothersâ, you mumbled, looking back at the horizon, but his eyes didnât leave you.
Aonung just couldnât resist when he saw you sitting there all alone, since he had helped you with riding your Ilu, he couldnât keep his hands away from you. He was less and less annoyed with his own feelings, brushing off his friends when they asked about his behavior. He loved your reactions to him, just like your pretty blush and glowing freckles right now, your disgruntled brothers were just an added bonus. You looked different than the Metkayina women, but he loved it.
âYes they can be annoyingâ, he chuckled and moved a little closer to you, your arms almost touching. You only sighed and rolled your eyes at his statement. âWhy are you out here all alone?â, you asked him, wondering why he wasnât with his family or his mean group of friends - except for Rotxo, he was a sweetheart.
âAhâ, he sighed, remembering why he fled his familyâs marui, âmy parents are constantly talking about me choosing a mate, discussing the best options and I needed a break.â When he tried to think of the options his parents were discussing he suddenly came up blank, the only woman in his mind was you - and that startled him for a moment.
âOhâ, you were shocked by his honesty, you didnât think he would talk to you about serious topics, âyou donât want to choose a mate yet?â You weâre looking at him with curious eyes, he was so handsome and he was one of the best warriors and hunters, not to mention the future Oloâeyktan, he could probably choose whoever he wanted, so why didnât he? A constricting feeling took a hold of your chest.
âThatâs not itâ, youâve never seen him look so conflicted, the crease between his eyebrows deep and worried, âI want someone I love, someone I see, not the best in that or the strongest in whatever.â You hummed in agreement, you knew how he felt, your oldest brother was supposed to choose a mate before you left aswell, and he was conflicted too. You yourself hadnât put too much thought into choosing someone yet, you had only just become an adult when you left your clan, but Aonung was two years your elder and the pressure was harder on him.
âIs there no one in the clan that you like?â, you wondered, but the thought of seeing another girl in his arms made you swallow down the lump in your throat. He didnât answer, instead opting to gaze into your eyes, making you incredibly nervous and flustered. âDo you have your eyes on someone?â, he countered your previous question and you looked away when he leaned forward.
He had to admit he was a little worried you would say the name of another male, the thought of you being anotherâs mate made his instincts go crazy. Just like him you didnât answer, but he interpreted the way you gazed up at him through your lashes in a positive way. He grinned to himself, grabbing your hand and enjoying how your thin tail moved behind you nervously. You still leaned into him a little, and interlaced your fingers with his almost automatically, his skin tingling pleasantly and the two of you just enjoyed the silence.
âââââââââ
You and Loâak were strolling around the beach and talking about what he could make for Tsireya to convey his feelings when you heard it. âWhat are you? Some kind of freak?â, you instantly recognized the voice - and so did Loâak - and your heart dropped. You both turned around and saw Aonung and his friends stand around Kiri, taking her hand and laughing about whatever.
Loâak immediately started to stomp over there and you broke out of your stupor you followed after him with delay. Your sister looked annoyed and - eventhough she would never admit it - a little hurt by their comments and ridicule. Loâak immediately pushed Aonung back with his hand on his chest, the older boy holding his hands up in mocking defense.
He hadnât seen you yet, but you had to make sure your sister was okay first before dealing with the Oloâeyktans son. âAre you alright Kiri?â, you grabbed her hand and spoke quietly, her hand squeezing yours in comfort and a nod confirming her well-being. You met Aonungs eyes when you looked back to the scene in front of you, and his face fell when he realized you witnessed this.
He didnât even know why he made fun of you sister, or your siblings in general, but the look of disappointment in your eyes made him want to hit himself for his actions. But before he could do or say anything, your older brother was already on him. âLeave her aloneâ, Neteyam had enough of Aonung and his friends, his finger pressing into the other boys chest firmly.
âFrom now on, I need you to respect my siblingsâ, he growled and again, Aonungs hands went up in a mocking way. He couldnât help the smirk that made its way onto his face, he couldnât show weakness infront of his friends, even if he was sorry to have upset you. Neteyam rolled his eyes and stalked back to you and his siblings and you turned to walk away, when one of his friends said: âTheyâre all freaks, the whole family.â
The hurt look that flashed across your face was enough to make his fists itch with the need to punch his friend, but suddenly Loâak turned around again and walked towards him. âYeah, yeah thatâs real funnyâ, you knew your brother was about to do something stupid, âlook I have five fingers Iâm a freak!â
He was standing infront of Aonung, the other boys laughing at him. âBut I can do something real cool with it, first I fold them, like this and thenâŠâ, Loâak hit Aonung square in the face with his fist, the taller Metkayina falling into the sand and all hell broke loose. Loâak and the other boys were fighting, your brother landing a couple of nasty punches, but when they started to overpower him Neteyam next to you sighed and joined his brother.
âStop it you skxawngs!â, your sister called out, but she was laughing too so she didnât really care if they stopped. You on the other hand were worried, your father told you not to get in trouble and here you were, your brothers beating up and getting beat up by the Oloâeyktans son and his friends.
âLoâak, Neteyam stop it!â, you shouted moving towards the piles of fighting Naâvis. One was on top of Loâak, punching him in the jaw and you winced in empathy. âHey stop it! Please!â, but he didnât seem to hear you in the commotion, and when you tried to pull at his arm it happened so quickly you didnât realize until you were laying in the sand, looking up at the sky.
Your lip was hurting and you could taste some blood, and in retrospect you chided yourself for being so stupid as to go in the middle of two fighting Naâvi, especially ones that were way larger than you. No wonder that boys elbow seemed to have hit you in the face. But it seemed like your little injury atleast stopped the fighting, the boy and Loâak looked at you frozen in place and once your sister yelled â(Y/N!)â in shock, everyone froze.
âYou asshole!â, Aonung was in rage and everyone was absolutely shocked to see him tackle his friend off of Loâak, landing punch to his nose before the other started to defend himself. You were the first one to act, standing up and locking eyes with your older brother. âStop him!â, you didnât know why he suddenly attacked his friend, but he seemed so furious that he probably couldnât be stopped with words. Loâak jumped up too, and together they pulled Aonung off the other boy, whose nose was bleeding profusely.
He felt himself being hauled up and tried to break free again, but it was no use. And when he saw your shocked face, he stopped completely, wincing when he saw the blood trickle down your chin slightly. He took in the shocked looks of his friends, and felt a little guilty for beating up the one on the ground, but when he saw you hurt in the sand he felt like he couldnât control his actions. Eywa, he was way more screwed than he thought.
There were a few moments of tense silence, before you decided it would be a good idea to break this up so everyone could cool down a little. You walked over to your brothers still holding Aonung and gently gripped his biceps, urging him to follow you and he moved from your brothers hold to where you maneuvered him without resistance. âGet him to the TsahĂŹkâ, you gestured to the Naâvi still laying on the ground, spitting blood onto the sand.
Your brothers were reluctant to let you leave with Aonung, but you could hear your sister scold them while you were leading Aonung away. He was still following you silently, you two werenât talking until you entered your familyâs marui, which was thankfully empty. You sat him down in the corner where you had stored your healing supplies, you and Kiri both were taught by your grandmother.
âIâm sorryâ, he broke the silence first and you sighed, dipping your fingers in the paste you had made just yesterday, before softly applying it to the bruises on his face. âYou need to tell Kiri, not meâ, you didnât look into his eyes, you were nervous enough being this close to him. âI didnât mean for you to get hurtâ, he sounded really guilty and you set the paste down to talk this out. He took the chance to pick it up, carefully putting some on the cut in your lip and you looked at him wide-eyed, before you shook yourself out of it.
âI was hurt before your friends elbow hit my face Aonung. I have five fingers too you know, doesnât that mean Iâm a freak?â, you held up your hand and wiggled your fingers, a sad smile on your lips. He had never directly insulted you, but didnât everything that applied to your siblings also apply to you? He frowned, taking your hand into his carefully, your hand completely swallowed by his big ones.
Fuck, he was so conflicted. His feelings for you were so intense, his heart racing just because you had applied some paste to his face and his stomach in tingles when your pretty eyes looked at him. But then there was the pressure from his friends, they loved to make fun of your family and eventhough he still thought all of you were different, he didnât really mind anymore. You proved yourself to be quick learners after all. He was just afraid of their reaction when he would tell them to stop making fun of your family - or if he told them he liked you.
âNo, no youâre not, never think that okay? Iâm sorry, I really am, itâs justâŠâ, he couldnât finish the sentence, he was really bad at talking about his feelings. âYour friends?â, you hummed, gently putting your other hand on top of Aonungs, your other still engulfed between his. The size difference between them was almost comical.
He was astounded by how easily you could read him, another thing that made him fall harder. âYeahâ, he breathed looking to the ground in shame. He hated himself for hurting you just because he couldnât be brave enough to stand up to his friends. âMaybe punching your friends wasnât the best plan thenâ, you squeezed his hand and his skin felt slightly rough under your fingertips.
âWhy did you do that anyway?â, you were curious about that since it happened. Aonung still didnât look up, his posture stiffening and his hand holding yours tighter. You tried to ignore your blushing cheeks. âHe hurt youâ, he mumbled and you nearly didnât hear him. âIt was an accidentâ, you were confused but also flattered he defended you - but why? âAonung why would you defend me anyway? I thought you didnât like my familyâ, you sighed, his behavior confused to no end.
He was still silent, but he hesitantly pulled one of his hands back from where they were entangled with yours and finally looked up to meet your eyes. You were surprised to find that he looked a little insecure, but there was another emotion you couldnât quite decipher. His hand gently gripped your cheek, your freckles already glowing from his close proximity and your ears moving nervously.
Eywa, he didnât know what he was doing, he just knew it felt right. He would deal with the consequences later, emotional or social. You were blushing so beautifully and your eyes looked surprised by his actions, but he still felt you lean into his hand. When he leaned in closer your tail moved serenely behind you, and he couldnât help but smile. âAonungâ, you basically whispered his name, and the feelings he got when you said it sent a shiver through him. Without further warning he softly but firmly pressed his lips to yours.
You were frozen for a second, before his hand on your cheek pulled you closer and you melted into him with a sigh, your eyes closing. Your wound burned a bit but you didnât care, you couldnât resist him if you tried, you were so in love, Eywa have mercy. Your hands untangled from his and you interlaced them behind his neck, his now free hand pulling you closer by your waist.
âSeems like the fight wasnât that bad after allâ, you winced when you heard your fathers voice behind you, quickly scrambling to stand which proved a little challenging, your legs felt like jelly after that kiss. âDad!â, you shrieked, your face burning in embarrassment when you saw both your brothers standing next to your father with angry faces.
Aonung was quick to stand next to you, and if the situation wasnât so bad you wouldâve found his little blush cute. âYour father wants to speak to you, go boyâ, your father was gesturing for Aonung to leave and you were glad this wasnât turning into an uncomfortable conversation right away, âdonât think Iâm done with you though.â
âSorry Sirâ, Aonung lowered his head and quickly rushed out of the marui. âWhat the hell (Y/N)!â, Loâak was scolding at you, just like Neteyam. Kiri just laughed instead. âI knew that boy had a thing for youâ, she giggled and walked over to you. Your father was still silent, which scared you even more than if he wouldâve been yelling.
The scolding you hat gotten from your father had been expected, but when he heard that the others were bullying Kiri he had atleast let you go, with the exception of you and Loâak. âWhat happened to your face babygirl?â, your father took your chin in his hand and looked over you in concern. âShe tried to stop us and took and elbow to the faceâ, Loâak answered for you. Your father sighed, kissing your forehead.
âI need you to go apologize to Aonungâ, he was talking to your brother again, who looked insulted by the idea of saying sorry to the Metkayina. âHeâs the Oloâeyktans son, doesnât matter who started itâ, your father had that tone that didnât leave any room for disscussions and Loâak just huffed, crossing his arms in annoyance.
ââââââââ
You were sitting outside your marui alone, it was already dark and everyone was busy. Your twin had gone off to apologize with a scowl on his face, and Kiri had questioned you about Aonung before your mother told her to help with dinner, giving you the chance to flee outside. You were still thinking about the feeling of his lips on yours, unsure of what the future would bring. Aonung seemed to be so influenced by his friends, how could he ever admit that he liked you - if he even did like you. You were scared he was just messing with you.
You didnât get to sit in peace and quiet for long, your father joining you after awhile. âYou wanna tell me about him?â, your father was uncharacteristically gentle and you looked up at him with a small smile. âI really like himâ, you admitted and your father nodded in understanding.
âMhm seems like he feels the same wayâ, Jake told you, but he couldnât help the unhappy tone his voice took on. You were the first of his daughters that he had to watch fall in love and he realized he got older too. âDonât say it like that Dadâ, you giggled a little, guessing how your father felt and you hugged his arm in comfort.
âI just donât like seeing you grow upâ, he grumbled kissed your temple. You sat in silence for a few moments, before you decided to share your worries with him. âIâm not sure he likes me tooâ, you said and your father shook his head with a smile. âFrom what Neteyam has told me, he definitely doesâ, your dad chuckled. âWhat did he tell you?â, you frowned, suspicious of your brothers interpretation of the last months.
âAonung never bullied you right? And Neteyam told me he always stuck close to you during lessons, being patient with you while scolding your brothers for the same thingâ, your dad grinned as he remembered the annoyed face on his oldest son. âAnd he fought his friend in your defense didnât he?â, he smiled down at you and you looked away with a blush.
âYeah he didâ, you admitted with a coy smile, but before you two could continue your conversation, it was interrupted by Neteyam dragging Aonung towards you two. âTell them what you told meâ, he pushed Aonung forward and what he admitted next - with a guilty look in his eyes and avoiding your gaze completely - shattered all hope you had gathered previously.
âââââââââ
âLoâak!â, you called out in relief and hugged your twin tightly. You were so incredibly glad that he was alright, and you were still absolutely devastated that Aonung did this. Your father pulled you aside and then stopped Loâak from going after Aonung, who was standing next to his father. âLetâs have a look at youâ, your Dad gave your twin the once over to make sure he was alright, but Loâak didnât really care, his eyes still on the guilty looking Aonung.
âHeâs fine, heâs fineâ, your father told the others, you know he was trying to play this down to keep the peace, âjust a few scratches.â Your mother joined the crowd and you know she was concerned, but she was still scolding your twin. âI pray for the strength that I will not pluck the eyeballs out of my youngest sonâ, she hissed and you felt really bad for Loâak, this wasnât even his fault!
âNo! My son knows better than to take him outside the reefâ, Tonowari spoke with a disappointed and firm voice, pushing his son down to one knee authoritatively. You almost felt bad for Aonung, but you were really angry with him yourself. âThe blame his hisâ, you took in the words and took ahold of your mothers arm for comfort.
âOkay, letâs goâ, your Dad wanted to leave this behind as fast as possible, but Loâak stopped him, and now you were praying for the strength not to pluck his eyeballs out. âNo. This is not Aonungs fault. This was my ideaâ, you looked just as unbelieving as Aonung, âAonung tried to talk me out of it, really. Iâm sorry.â
âCome onâ, your dad was a little firmer now and Loâak finally moved. âI got thisâ, your father reassured Tonowari and he pulled up Aonung, while you and your mother followed your father. You could hear him getting scolded, but you were too far away already.
âDad, you told me to make friends with these people, thatâs all I was trying to-â, your brother wanted to defend himself, but your father interrupted him. âI donât want to hear it.â, he looked several disappointed. âDadâŠâ, your twin tried again. âYou brought shame to this familyâ, you winced and your ears layed flat when your father said these words, and you could see Loâak was holding it together - like he always was.
âCan I go now?â, your twin asked in defeat and your father frowned. âAny more trouble, I jerk a knot in your tail. You read me?â âYes sir.â, your dad nodded and your brother was off, Neteyam getting a scolding too. Your father was way too hard on them since the sky people returned.
ââââââââ
You gave your twin a little time to cool down, before going out to search for him. He was sitting on the beach alone, fiddling with a shell and only looking up when he felt you sit next to him. âYou okay?â, you quietly asked, eventhough you knew the answer. âYeahâ, he just said and you sighed, leaning your head against his arm.
âYou know Dad didnât mean it, heâs just worried about you and about us getting thrown out or somethingâ, you whispered and you heard him huff in annoyance. âWhateverâ, he tried to play it cool, but you felt his arm pulling you closer by your shoulder. âFor what itâs worth, I donât think you brought shame to our family, I know this wasnât your idea anywayâ, you rolled your eyes when you remembered how he took the blame.
âThey said they would take me huntingâ, he opened up about what really happened, âI know we shouldnât go outside the reef, but I thought if I went with them we could finally leave this all behind and be friends or something. But when I turned around they were suddenly gone.â Your tail was tucked around your waist and you frowned with empathy. Your brother just wanted to make friends and was basically left for death.
âIâm sorry Loâakâ, you squeezed his arm in comfort, and he just sighed, looking up at the nightsky. âI met someone out there, a Tulkunâ, he started to smile and you were glad. âReally? But Tsireya told me they didnât return yetâ, you wondered. âHe was all alone and he saved me from an akulaâ, your breath hitched as you thought about the danger your twin was in.
âThank Eywa he was thereâ, you voice cracked a little and Loâak looked down at you in worry. âHey, hey donât worry Iâm still alive am I notâ, he kissed your temple softly and you hit his chest playfully. âYou skxawngâ, you smiled slightly. âYou have to meet himâ, Loâak grinned and you nodded in agreement. âIâd love toâ, you told him, glad that he was in a better mood already.
âââââââ
You helped your mother with preparing dinner the next day, your sibling being out with the others and you knew Loâak wanted to tell them about the Tulkun. You didnât go because you werenât ready to face Aonung yet, instead opting to hide in the marui.
After a while of silently cutting vegetables and fruit, your mother told you to go outside and enjoy the sun, because she was almost done anyway, so you decided to collect a few shells. Your mind was thinking over the situation with Aonung constantly, your feelings for him were still as strong as ever and the kiss replayed in your mind constantly but you were also still shocked that he could be so mean.
Calling your siblings freaks was a different level of bullying than honestly endangering your twins life and making him think they could be friends before leaving him alone. Your chest felt constricted when you thought of the way Loâak mustâve felt. You knew Loâak and the others had basically made peace with Aoânung - he was allegedly nice to them now, his other friends forgotten, but you still couldnât bring yourself to forgive him. Could you be with someone like that? Assuming he wanted to be with you, you still werenât convinced the kiss wasnât a prank too.
You had just spotted a pretty blue shell and bend down to pick it up, when you were interrupted by the Naâvi you really wanted to avoid the most calling your name. âLeave me alone Aonungâ, you stood up straight again, the shell long forgotten, and didnât even look at him before walking further down the beach. â(Y/N)! Wait, please!â, he sounded desperate and you werenât quick enough, so he grabbed your wrist and pulled you around to meet his gaze.
Aonung hated the way you looked at him, he hated himself for what he had done and he was praying to Eywa you could forgive him one last time. He didnât even know why he did that to your twin, he had panicked after he kissed you and ran back to his stupid friends - wanting to prove himself in their eyes after feeling guilty for kissing you.
He was so dumb, he was scared he fucked it all up and that that one kiss was all that he would ever get from you, his friends were long forgotten after the reality check he received yesterday. It really didnât matter what everyone thought. âWhat do you wantâ, you asked and the hurt look in your eyes made him feel like the biggest skxawng on the moon. It was crushing him.
âIâm so sorry (Y/N), I donât really have an explanation, but believe me I regret what I did so badâ, he started apologizing and you looked away, trying to hold in your tears, âI just- I panicked after IâŠkissed you and did something really stupid and I really am so sorry.â âIt wasnât stupid Aonung, it was dangerous and it was soâŠmeanâ, your voice was trembling and you tried to pull your arm out of his hold, but he wouldnât let you.
âI know, I knowâ, he sighed, his head tilting down and a frown on his face, âI promise I will never do anything like that again, Eywa I will never stop being sorry for this, I canât lose you (Y/N), please can you forgive me?â You wanted to believe him, you really did. âIâve forgiven you for everything youâve done to my siblings before Aonung, but this? I canât- I donât think I can trust you anymoreâ, you whispered the last part but he heard you as if you yelled right into his ear, âI donât even know if you were serious when youâŠkissed me.â
He felt like he was punched square in the face, his ears folded against his head and his heart cracking slightly. Was he really losing you? Before he even really had you? âOf course I was serious, (Y/N) I know I fucked up but I have never and will never mess with you like that, I have had feelings for you since you landed here all those months ago, and eventhough I tried to fight them I canât. You make me feel like you really see me, the real me not the one I was trying to be. And Iâm sorry for making you doubt me. I really want to be with you, if you can forgive me. I see you, your gentle nature, the way you always make sure everyoneâs alright and watch out for your family and I love our differences - your five fingers and your cute tail, everything. Pleaseâ, he took a deep breath, âplease forgive me (Y/N).â He felt a heavy weight lift off his shoulders, his forehead pressed against yours and your eyes locked onto his.
âAonungâ, you were speechless, your heart was hammering in your chest and you felt so warm and fuzzy. But you still werenât sure about all this. âIâŠI see youâ, you answered honestly, because you did, you couldnât deny it, âbut I need some time, okay? I canât justâŠforget this and trust you again.â He looked like you hit him in the face and your heart ached at the thought of hurting his feelings, but you had to protect your own.
He understood where you were coming from, but that didnât stop it from hurting, eventhough you said you saw him. âYeah, of course. I promise Iâll do anything to make you trust me again yawneâ, he vowed to himself he wouldnât rest until you were his mate, no matter what it took. Your heart skipped a beat at the loving name he called you and you managed to nod, before pulling yourself out of the tall Naâvis grip and quickly fleeing the scene before your tears started to fall.
âââââââ
The battle of three brothers rock was over three weeks ago, and you were still almost crying when you thought about how you nearly lost your oldest brother. He was only able to be saved because of Norm and Max, their skypeople technology stopping Neteyam from bleeding out. And it has also been three weeks since Aonung started courting you, like really really seriously. He gifted you selfmade jewelry, went hunting for your family and brought you the biggest catch and he really, really tried to spend time with you. You werenât wearing his bracelet and necklace yet, not wanting to give him false hope if it didnât work out and you could see it hurt him.
You had been successful at avoiding him the last weeks though, always fleeing into the forest or taking your Ilu to go diving somewhere, anything to delay the inevitable conversation you would face when he managed to corner you. You hated the disappointed look everytime he saw you slip away again, you felt so bad but you just couldnât bring yourself to accept his advances yet. Not because you didnât trust him again, he really proved himself - he was so sweet with little Tuk and grew close to your other siblings too, never bullying them again.
But now that his intentions became serious, you panicked. If you would mate with him, you would be the next TsahĂŹk of his clan. Would his parents ever approve of this match? By Eywa, would the Metkayina even tolerate a foreigner as their TsahĂŹk? And did you even have what it takes to be one after all? You werenât outgoing, of course you were caring and you were a decent healer, but when you looked at Ronal you had to admit you would never be like that.
But you still loved Aonung, you were sure. And the thought of anyone else being your mate made you panick just the same. Why did he have to be the next Oloâeyktan? Silently sighing you pushed your chopped vegetables in the big bowl and your mother cleared her throat. Uh, oh, she looked like she wanted to breach a serious topic. Oh no.
âMaâite, donât you think youâve held out the poor boy enough? Heâs so obviously in love with you, and I can see you love him tooâ, your mother peeled the fruit in her hand without looking away from you. You blushed, if even your mother felt bad for him, he must really be sad. âI do love himâ, you were speaking so quietly Neytiri almost didnât catch it. âWhat it is then? Tell me, Mhm?â, she urged you to finally spill whatâs going on inside your mind and you folded.
âIâm justâŠIâm worried you knowâ, you started and put the knife down, you couldnât concentrate anyway, âif I accept him Iâll be the next TsahĂŹk saânok, Iâm not sure Iâm even remotely suitable for thatâŠconsidering Tonowari and Ronal would even approve the match, and I donât even want to think about the clans opinion on a foreign TsahĂŹk.â There, you admitted your worries out loud. And you felt a little better about it already.
Your mother was silent for a moment before getting up and sitting down next to you. âLove, donât talk about yourself like that. You would be the perfect fit. You are one of the best healers I know and Ronal would teach you, they would be snumĂŹna to not accept you. And from what Iâve seen the people here adore you, especially the children and eldersâ, she hugged you close and kissed your temple softly. (stupid)
âYou need to speak to him maâiteâ, she smiled down at you but she also looked a little strict about it. You sighed and pulled away a little, going back to preparing dinner. âI will, Iâll do itâŠtomorrowâ, you had no intention of doing that and she knew it too.
ââââââââ
You really couldnât catch a break, as soon as you had left the marui the next morning you were cornered by your brothers and Tsireya. You could guess what they wanted. â(Y/N) donât you think you can forgive him? Heâs been groveling at your feet for weeks sisâ, Loâak was - as always - the first and most insensitive to start the conversation. You were glad Tsireya hit him over the head for it.
âWhat he means is, that Aonung is miserable. I really have never seen my brother like that, please free us of this despairâ, Tsireya looked at you with her big eyes and you almost caved, they reminded you so much of Aonungs. âI will, I will, Iâm busy right now, but Iâll do it laterâ, you forced a smile on your face. You pushed past them quickly and in your attempt of a quick escape you collided with a strong chest.
âIâm so sorryâ, you gasped and your heart plummeted when you looked into Aonungs face. This was the first time youâve seen him up close since that night he confessed and you had to admit - though he was still incredibly handsome - he didnât look to good. He had dark circles under his eyes, a few scratches on his cheek and shoulder that were untreated and the spark in his eyes was dimmed down. You were sure you didnât look much better, you missed him dearly but it was your own fault after all.
Eywa you wanted to cry, you werenât ready for this and this was too sudden. â(Y/N)â, his voice sounded rough and he started to raise his hand as if to touch you and that made you snap out of your frozen state. âIâm sorryâ, you pressed out in a whisper before quickly slipping past him and vanishing between the maruis. You didnât miss the way he flinched and the way his ears layed flat against his head. You wished you werenât such a coward, another reason why you wouldnât be fit for being TsahĂŹk.
âââââââ
You were avoiding everyone now, all of them - the whole bunch! - was pestering you about Aonung, as if you didnât feel bad enough already. You were sitting in your familyâs marui, your mother had thankfully thrown everyone out because she knew it wouldnât help to pressure you, and you were gently holding the bracelet and necklace Aonung had gifted you, an ankle bracelet had been added to that today.
But you knew you really couldnât avoid this any longer, the hurt you felt from being away from him for so long and the guilt you felt from hurting him was by far overpowering all your insecurities and worries by now. You were just gathering the courage to put on the jewelry and seek him out. What gave you the final push was a scowling Ronal that was suddenly standing in your home.
You felt like prey being cornered by a predator when she stalked over to where you were sitting, firmly joining you on the ground, her pregnant belly sitting on top of her thighs. âTsahĂŹkâ, you inclined your head and gestured I see you, glad you didnât completely forget your manners. âHow long do you plan on torturing my son?â, she looked so scary and frightening like that, and you shrunk back a little.
âI didnât mean toâ, you whispered clutching the jewelry tightly for comfort. âThen what is your reason?â, she demanded, âWhy wonât you accept him? It would be a good match.â You were surprised she thought so. âYouâŠyou think so?â, your voice was quiet and the frown lightened a little when she saw how insecure you were.
She wasnât angry with you per se, at least not seriously, she knew her son wasnât innocent in all of this but she was still worrying about her eldest. She could see he tried so so hard for you, coming back shattered every day you didnât at least talk to him. But she liked you, she saw that you were a great healer, caring for her people and your gentle nature fit perfectly with her sons hard and rough one and she was concerned about your worries too. âWhat is it child?â, she cocked her head a little and penetrated you with that intense gaze, you couldnât lie to her you knew that much.
âIâm justâŠI was worried you and Tonowari wouldnât approve of it. And what about the clan? Im still a foreigner after all. Do you even thinkâŠI mean Iâm not even sure I am fit to be TsahĂŹkâŠâ, Ronal had to admit she was a bit shocked by your dark thoughts. âYou and your family are Metkayina. You are the daughter of Totuk Makto (Y/N) and you are an overly talented healer, your mother told me you were taught by the TsahĂŹk of your clan. The clan loves you aswell, you are caring and gentle with the children, helping everyone that needs it. And most importantly, my son is absolutely in love with youâ, she gave your shoulder an encouraging squeeze, your heart unbelievably happy that she quenched all of your worries just like that. You shouldâve probably talked to her sooner.
âThank you Ronalâ, you grabbed her forearm carefully in gratitude, a rare smile on her face. âAnd now put on that jewelry and free my son from his miseryâ, she got up and pulled you with her, ushering you out the door once she had helped your secure everything, âwe will start lessons soon!â Eywa, this was really going to be it. Hopefully Aonung wasnât fed up with your behavior yet.
ââââââââ
It was past eclipse already when you found him. Ronal had given you a general direction, but he was nestled between a few rocks, mending fishing nets in silence and it had taken you a while to find him. He seemed deep in thought when you reluctantly approached him, your heart hammering in your chest, on one hand you were nervous and on the other you were so in love with him. âAonungâ, you spoke up when you were standing a few meters next to him, the ocean breezing ruffling your hair slightly.
He froze when he heard your voice. Was he that desperate that he started hallucinating? You couldnât really be here, right? When he heard someone shuffle closer to him in the sand, he finally looked up and nearly let out a pathetic whimper when you were really standing in front of him. Please Eywa, donât let this be the part where you reject him.
The past weeks had worn him down unbelievably. At first he was so motivated to win you over, and he still kept that up, but with every day that he saw you basically run away from him, his heart cracked a little more. Did you really think he was that bad? â(Y/N)â, his voice sounded raw, not having been used much today. He tried to avoid the others, they always looked at him so pitifully and he hated that. He hated how weak he felt without you.
You swallowed down the lump in your throat and hesitantly sat down next to him. Now was the moment you had to be brave. âIâm sorry Aonungâ, you started, not really knowing where to go from there. You had it all planned out in your head, but in front of him with his eyes looking at you so hopefully it was all gone.
With your words his eyes turned sorrowful, his head hanging low and you could hear him take a shaky breath. âPlease, donât say it, I-I canâtâŠâ, he paused and his fists clenched tightly. You were confused now. âIf you reject me make it quick pleaseâ, he whispered, not looking up and you felt your heart break at the sight. Eywa, you hated yourself for doing this to him.
âNo! No, Aonung Iâm not rejecting youâ, you panicked a little, grabbing his biceps and forearm firmly continuing your rambling, âI was apologizing for not facing this earlier, I didnât mean to make you wait so long I justâŠI was worriedâ, you paused a little and he was looking at you again, âbut your mother made me realize I was being silly.â
âWhat does that mean? Do you forgive me?â, Aonung was still reluctant to hope you wanted to seriously be his mate, but he couldnât help the way his heart was mending itself a little already, your hands on him helping tremendously. He watched your ears move nervously and your tail wrapped around your thigh in comfort, the blush on your cheek making him choke. You were so beautiful, he missed seeing you up close and he needed to fight the urge to touch you again. Suddenly he noticed you were wearing his gifts and his heartbeat and hope skyrocketed. He couldnât wait until everyone saw you wearing them, preferably when you agreed to be his.
âOf course I forgive you! I actually forgave you about two weeks ago, and I hope you can forgive me for being such a coward and avoiding you for so longâ, your cheeks were burning, you normally never were this forward, but you knew you had to make this right. You moved even closer to him, your knees touching his thigh and you were a little relieved when his hand moved to your cheek.
âAlways, for you I would wait forever (Y/N)â, he smiled shyly and it was weird to see the strong warrior like this, but you couldnât help the smile that made its way onto your own face. Before you could lose your courage, you move one hand to his cheek, the skin a little rougher than yours, and the way he leaned into it gave you the last push to finally kiss him.
His breath hitched when you pressed you soft lips to his. This was worth all the weeks of uncertainty and heartbreak before, to finally hold you in his arms and having you kiss him was making his heart whole again and his life worth living. His skin prickled pleasantly, his hands gripping your waist and pulling you into his lap, the net he was mending long forgotten.
You held onto his neck when he moved you and were so relieved he reciprocated your kiss. How could you have ever thought about any other life than one by his side. You pulled back to breathe - you couldnât hold your breath as long as he could after all - and giggled a little when he chased your lips. â(Y/N)â, he looked at you heavy-lidded, your stomach clenching with an unfamiliar feeling.
âMhmâ, you were distracted by the freckles that were glowing on his face, tracing them with your finger softly, a lazy smile forming on his lips. âDoes that mean you accept me as your mate?â, his heart was fluttering, his stomach in a nervous knot still worried you wouldnât be sure. âI would love to be your mate Aonung, Oel ngati kameieâ, you pressed your forehead to his, and the smile on his was making your stomach all warm. âOel ngati kameieâ, he grinned and you were so, so relieved the spark was back in his pretty eyes.
He pulled you back in for another kiss, he couldnât believe he finally had you, all of you. But what he still wanted to know was what you talked to his mother about and what obviously held you back the past two weeks if you had already forgiven him back then. â(Y/N)?â, he asked between kisses and you just hummed, completely lost in his embrace and affection, the way his strong arms held you close made you feel like youâve never felt before.
âWhat did you talk to my mother about?â, he almost regretted the question when you pulled back with a coy smile, your freckles glowing even brighter in embarrassment. âIt was justâŠthe thing holding me back from accepting was uhmâŠI was scared I wouldnât be fit to be your TsahĂŹkâ, you mumbled, a little embarrassed to lay your insecurities out in the open, but he deserved to know, âand I thought your parents and the clan wouldnât accept me anyway.â
He was stunned into silence for a moment, how could his perfect, gentle and caring love think she wasnât enough? âI hope you realized that thatâs bullshitâ, he basically growled at the way you doubted yourself, âyouâre perfect yawne, I couldnât even think of anyone else, if itâs not you, itâs no one. Youâre a gifted healer, always caring for everyone and Eywa, I love you so so much tanhĂŹ please, never doubt yourself okay? And if you do, always talk to me, never shut me out againâ, he was so caring and genuine you pressed a short kiss to his lips appreciatively, âpromise me.â
âI promise Aonung, I will never shut you out againâ, your voice was soft and his ears moved happily. He grinned blissfully and couldnât resist your soft and slightly swollen lips anymore. This kiss was a little more passionate, his tongue gently stroking your lips before you opened them and hummed contently when his tongue found yours. His taste made you fall into him even more, and the way he kissed you made some new feelings arouse in your body.
He pulled back a little and you almost protested, but his lips wandered down to your neck and you felt like you were in heaven. Suddenly he stood up with you in his arms, a yelp leaving your mouth and you held on tightly. âWhere are we going tĂŹyawn?â, you were completely at his mercy. The loving name made him groan and he kissed your lips again.
âIâm taking you to the Cove of the Ancestors to mate with you, I canât wait anymore I need to make you mine (Y/N)â, he said between kissing you and maneuvering you onto his Ilu that he had called. âPlease make me yours Aonungâ, you whispered and it sent his instincts into overdrive. His perfect, pretty, small and soft mate asking him to take her was almost too much.
He got on behind you, holding you close to his chest, immediately departing. âEywa, I canât wait to be your mate, youâre going to my perfect TsahĂŹkâ, he groaned into your neck and you shivered at his possessive tone. When he felt you lean into him in submission, something more primal awakened in him. âCanât wait to make you swell with our childâ, he growled into you ear, both of them twitching adorably, and he only urged his Ilu to go faster. He thanked Eywa for giving him such a perfect mate.
âââââââââ
Took me a little longer this time but Iâm not completely satisfied with thisâŠbut I have to fight my perfectionist ways itâs not getting better! You were supposed to be studying for your finals so you and Jake could finally graduate high school and while he had a plan to join the Marines right after graduation before his nineteenth birthday, you were going the route of college to try and figure out your life that way. You knew that with the separate ways of life, you probably wouldnât see Jake after graduation but you would enjoy him while you could. Your mother was in the kitchen of your apartment while the two of you were sitting at the dining table around the corner, out of sight unless she moved over to the pantry, which she surreptitiously did every now and again to watch you two to make sure you were behaving. She didnât trust you not to fuck like horny rabbits, always needing to chaperone everything the two of you or having you promise to have a chaperone if you were going out somewhere. Despite the fact that you were eighteen now, officially. Had been for three weeks.
Talk about âhelicopter parentâ.
Your mother wanted you to be a clean, little virgin when you married in the Christian church of her choosing when you were in your mid to late twenties. If only she knew what you and Jake had gotten up to. In his car. In his apartment. In your apartment. At school in the locker room. In the breakroom at your afterschool job. At the movie theater.
And you were feeling frisky.
Here.
Right now.
Reaching over with your non-dominant hand to your boyfriendâs crotch, you palmed him through the front of his jeans. Jakeâs spine stiffened in the seat next to you and he shot you a surprised smirk, brow raised. âBaby?â You shot him a coy grin back and he sat back slightly, spreading his legs, accusing, âHorny little thing.â He sighed as you reached for his belt and tugged it loose, unbuttoning him and sliding your hand beneath the waist of his underwear. Swallowing, he glanced up towards the kitchen and then shot you another leer, breathing through his nose so he didnât moan from your touch.
âYou complaining on me, Marine?â you tease him.
âNâno, no maâam,â he stuttered.
He whimpered when you pulled your hand back, watching as you licked your palm, spitting in it for good measure before grasping him again. He tried not to jerk his hips up into your touch but you could see the pleasure moving over his face as you moved over him.
Up and down, you moved your hand.
âFuck, baby,â he whispered, his hips twitching as he held himself back from rutting up into your hand like a horny animal. âA little firmer⊠please?â You tightened your grip around him, his moan confirmation of his enjoyment. He could fuck you good and hard later when he got you alone and show his appreciation for you much better in the back of his car or in his bed.
Eat you out before he buried himself as deep as he could go inside of you.
When you slid your hand off his shaft and cupped his balls, he grunted, gritting his teeth, leaning back further, spreading his legs wider, hips giving aborted little jerks up into your hand. His breath was coming in short pants, as he whined quietly, trying not to draw your motherâs attention. âGod, baby, youâre gonna make me cum if you keep doing this.â He gasped as you tightened your grip on him, brow furrowing, hips jerking noticeably, cock straining as it leaked from the tip.
Suddenly the vid comm rang in the kitchen and the two of you froze at the sharp noise cutting through the quiet.
âItâs your Aunt Karen,â your mother called out. âIâm going to take this in my room. You two behave, you hear me?â You smirked, replying, âYeah, weâll be good.â You squeezed your boyfriendâs balls teasingly. He choked on a grunt, giving you a pleading look. You both heard your mother walk away and you shifted your chair back, sinking down onto the carpet. You shuffled around to kneel between your boyfriendâs thighs and glanced up at him with a salacious smirk. âWeâll be really, really good.â
Jake met your gaze, grunting, âYeah, you gonna be my good girl, baby?â
He cut off with a gasp as you grasp the base of his thick shaft and suck his cock into your mouth, looking up to meet his gaze. The thrill of being caught, the stimulation from before and now the lascivious look of you meeting his gaze while sucking on his cock underneath your dining table, and he was cumming, grunting your name and sliding his fingers through your hair, thighs shaking as you swallowed his spunk.
âFuck, fuck, fuck, baby, yes,â he grunted, eyes squeezing closed.
You grinned, wet and needy but satisfied from getting your boyfriend off successfully with your mother none the wiser. You crawled out from under the table and resumed sitting in your chair. âYou can thank me later,â you tease, and turn back to the books you were supposed to be studying out of.
And just in time too.
Your mother came out of the kitchen, her bedroom being on the other side, and shook her head, rambling about how your Aunt Karen was checking herself back into rehab and other such family drama. And she was none the wiser to your and your boyfriendâs illicit activities.

Happy Kiktober, everyone!
Hello! Could I ask about scenario where The Joker has been very distant lately to Y/N always busy and almost never around her anymore which left reader very confused and upset. (((Now obviously heâs not cheating or anything like that heâs just too busy with his sick twisted plans on how to take over Gotham or something âbut ohh well your insecurities get the best of you))). Itâs been about good 3 months since she saw him he wasnât replying to her texts and when you called him it always directed you to voicemails. It could be only two things he couldâve moved on from you or he is too damn busy to even pick up your callsâŠ. So you decided to go on a date with some rando to push your feelings aside. Because at the same time, you couldnât just sit around and wait for The Joker, that was just stupid. You arenât even sure whatâs going on?? It was exciting at first, in the heat of the moment because you were a bit attention-starved to be fair. But now as youâre getting ready youâre having second thoughts about it all and how risky it could be. Joker is a very very jealous and possessive man and he could be literally everywhere you knew he had his goons looming around you to make sure youâre safe. But you gulped those thoughts away and went out anyways. Well that was worst decision of your LIFE as long behold he found out âŠ..now itâs up to you how you continue and interpret all this because Iâm really bad at it (sooo sorry) he either ruins the date or is waiting for reader at her apartmentâŠ.literally however you want it you can even change some stuff in the middle I really donât mind đđ I just need more jealous joker in my life (I have serious issues) it could be angst fluff smutđ€đ€đ€đ€or even everything as I said I really donât mind. Thank youuuuuâšđđȘ·

The number you have dialed has a voicemail box that has not been set up yet. Please try calling again later.
You groaned in frustration and tossed your phone on the bed. If your hair wasnât up in protective braids you wouldâve ran your hands through your hair. When did it get like this? Calling, waiting up, and wishing for a smidgen of communication from Jokerâ only to receive absolute silence?
Joker being distant was putting things mildly. He had up and ghosted you.
One night you were kissing him goodbye and the next GCN reported that Joker had gone M.I.A. Funny how he was seen two days later shooting at Batmanâs tank of a car down Dini Hwy but sure.. Joker was âmissing.â
Joker was actively terrorizing Gotham City streets, he was only M.I.A from your life. A part of you wanted to create a missing personâs report but that wouldnât end well.
The entire GCPD force would be breaking down your door by the time you uttered, âYes, I havenât seen my boyfriend, The Joker, in months.
You werenât quite sure who put a label on this ill fated relationship but the minute it was established, everything started to fall apart.
You would lie awake at night thinking about the downfall to you and Jokerâs relationship. Maybe you should have been content with the uncertainty and kept things vague. Not knowing where you stood with the infamous clownâ but still together, was better than a missing boyfriend and an empty bed.
You found yourself watching the news like a drug addict trying to catch a glimpse of your man to make sure he was alive and well.
Perhaps he was just busy with his sick twisted plans on how to take over Gotham or whatever he does when heâs out messing with Batman. You couldnât bear the thought of Joker cheating on you.
If Joker was cheating on you with Batman, youâd kill your self with a spoon but J really wanted the vigilante dead so you breathed a bit easy on that front.
That didnât stop you from freaking out anytime Joker grabbed a female on live tv. You watched with an envious eye for any inkling of Joker being attracted to her. Killing the poor girl put your mind at ease but then youâd feel awful for your lack of remorse. For now Joker had eyes only for you. But how long would that last was the burning question.
It became a vicious cycle of waiting for Joker to come home, calling his cell, it going to voicemail, or him straight up ignoring your texts, to crawling into bed and trying not to cry about it. But you couldnât deny the inevitable.
Joker abandoned you and you werenât some heartbroken blonde in an early 2000âs romcom.
You refused to cry and mope around the penthouse. You would not stoop to eating buckets of ice cream and gorging on assorted candies to overcome your heartache.
You happened to be a young, sexy, and intelligent woman of color with access to online dating apps! There were plenty of eligible men in Gotham who would kill to be with you.
You can and would move on. Screw Joker and his inability to provide basic necessities in a relationship. Being present was a requirement!
Your hurt feelings morphed into petty vengeance and you snatched your phone from where you tossed it earlier in a blind rage.
Your thumb hovered over Bruceâs profile until you sighed and scrolled past it. No matter how much you wanted to rebound date anyone to get over Joker, Bruce didnât deserve your toxic energy.
So you kept scrolling until you found the DO NOT CALL EVER AGAIN and the GURL HAVE YOU NO STANDARDS contacts. You should have deleted these contacts ages ago but you simply forgot.
You almost hit the dial icon on one of them until you swore you heard the front door slam shutâ but alas it was just your broken heart playing tricks on you.
Joker wasnât coming back and you had to accept that to move on. Your thumb hovered over one of your past tinder hookups.
âThis is stupid! Just call the number, Y/n. If he answers, then flirt! Heâs a classic tool, he definitely wonât care if this is only a one night stand. Get what you need from him and onto the next one!â
Your pep talk was good but you just couldnât commit. Even after Joker left you high and dry, it felt wrong to move on.
You threw your head back and groaned at the ceiling.
Why did you have to love Joker so much?! You still clung to the possibility of him returning and loving you unconditionally but that was a foolâs dream.
âHeâs gone Y/n. Maybe a walk will help clear my head and do me some good.â It seemed to be a tried and true coping mechanism whenever your head was in a tizzy. It's what got you in this relationship in the first place.
You went out to clear your head and met Joker that fateful night. If the chance rose to go back in time and avoid meeting Joker, youâd hesitate to do so.
He gave you so many fond memories. You couldnât erase that even if it saved yourself from heartbreak now.
You donned some good walking shoes that matched your current outfit and headed down to the ground floor.
It was a beautiful morning and you let your mind disconnect to breathe in some fresh air. This is what you needed. Some time spent outside and not cooped up in your depressing apartment thinking about your failed relationship.
You felt more like yourself already the longer you stayed out.
You were mindless during your wandering and didnât notice your surroundings until strong hands grabbed and yanked you back onto the sidewalk.
You yelped at the unexpected rescue and tuned out the honking and the slew of curses a taxi driver shouted at you through his window.
What did your carelessness cause this time? You were using the designated crosswalk and you had the right of way, so what gives?
Your eyes followed the bulky arms still holding you, up to a handsome face animated in concern. It was then you noticed the guy who saved you was talking.
ââbe more careful! These taxi drivers donât yield to pedestrians anymore. Hey.. are you listening to me?â He eyed you up and down, mostly in concern but admiring your beauty all the while.
You were doing the same. A ray of sunlight beamed down and highlighted your heroâs honey brown eyes and you blinked in awe at his model-like features staring at you.
Finally someone was giving you attention and the man was drop dead gorgeous. Who could blame your brain for malfunctioning?
He smirked at your lack of response and flashed his pristine teeth your way. He was checking off all of your requirements for a potential partner so far or perhaps your standards were just at an all time low. A flaw of your separation anxiety no doubt.
Joker was the last thing on your mind when this man was in front of you giving you attention.
âUh sure.. um.. T-Thank you.â You said after a few beats of awkward silence.
âDonât thank me just yet. I gotta say, Iâm thinking impure thoughts about you.â He said.
You quirked an eyebrow at his brute honesty although his baritone voice made you forget in an instant. You were a sucker for a sexy voice and much to your delight, he kept talking.
âSorry, has anyone ever told you how beautiful you are? Because d__n. You are.â
Another checkmark on the âyup heâs datable list.â
What were the odds of someone as attractive as him showing you affection ever again? You were lonelier than ever before and quite frankly you were ready to risk it all for an ounce of attention.
You ducked your head to hide your smile and he wanted nothing more to tilt your chin up and see it in all its glory.
Your smile was so radiant, he was a goner at a mere glimpse.
âIâd love to know your name, your number..â He sucked his teeth and admired your beauty, âyour favorite position in bedâŠâ
He probably meant to say that last part more so to himself but you still heard it.
You had to pump the brakes on that one. âEasy there.. At least take me out to dinner before you slut me out.â You laughed in jest but he leaned into your personal space, taking your words seriously.
âOh bet? Whatâre doing later?â
Wait, that pickup line actually worked? You were so out of practice.
You shielded the sun from your eyes and stared up at your newfound crush. He was waiting for a response with a flirtatious grin etched on his face. So you gave him an answer.
âYou tell me. What do you have in mind?â You flashed him another smile that rivaled the sun.
He chuckled and subtly moved so he blocked the sun rays for you. A small gesture that you instantly noticed. He was tall but not overly so like Joker. You hated your brain for comparing this new guy to your estranged clown but you couldnât help it.
Would this be a new habit; comparing insanity to normal? You really missed Joker..
âConfident and sexy. I like that. How aboutâŠâ The guy dug inside his pockets and procured a business card. He clicked a pen and jotted something down on it before handing it to you.
You were so caught up in his charm that you didnât acknowledge his attire.
He was dressed for the office with his dress shirt folded up to his forearms, showing off veins that made you swoon, and a hint of ink crawling up his bicep. The writer in you was having a seizure.
He was the perfect sexy corporate alpha male and he locked down the troupe by handing you his business card with a wink.
âGet home safely, call or text meâ whichever you prefer sunshine, and weâll make plans for tonight. Sounds good?â He waited until you read the embossed cardstock in your hand.
Tristan J. Price. | Marketing | Court OwlHouse Books
You knew the publishing company personally. They presented you with a nice offer before Cindy counter offered with a contract you couldnât refuse. You pocketed his phone number and nodded.
âYeah, it sounds great! I donât have a card but um.. my nameâs Y/n.â You played with one of your braids and went for it. âIâll call you later, Tristan.â
He tested your name on his lips. âA beautiful name for a beautiful woman. I look forward to it.â
You gave him a small wave and began walking back the way you came. Something told you to look back and sure enough, Tristan was watching you leave, biting his lip. He had no shame at being caught. His smile just grew bigger as he sent another wink your way.
A whirlwind of butterflies were going crazy in your stomach. You finally had options besides Joker for a partner. Things were looking up for once after all these months spent alone.
You flushed in embarrassment and turned the cornerâ not once noticing your undercover security detail watching your every move and reporting in.

Above all, Tristan was a gentleman and a shameless flirt.
You didnât waste time and called him the second you got home. He was more than pleased with your eagerness.
âIâm glad youâre home safe, sunshine. Now letâs talk business. Any allergies I need to be aware of? I really want to go all out and take you somewhere nice. You are definitely worth maxing my credit card.â
You laughed and tried not to let the nickname used get to you.
A subconscious part of you was still Jokerâs Light, his bunny and every other pet name in between. You had no business being someoneâs sunshine. It felt like you were betraying Joker.
Talking and flirting with someone else was an act of betrayal and you began to have second thoughts about all of this.
âGirl! Joker has clearly moved on! Get over him and let Tristan bend you over!â Your mini devil appeared on your coffee table and tried setting you straight.
She enlisted help from her arch nemesis and you were shocked when your figurative angel materialized next to her, nodding along.
âShe has a point Y/n. It's been months. It's time to move on although.. I suggest taking this slow so no bending on the first date.â She glared at your imaginary devil in disdain.
Tristan stole your attention when he asked if you had been to a certain restaurant. You totally forgot you were on the phone with him! You were quick to reply and shake your head clear of any imaginary angel and devils talking to you.
You and Tristan talked all afternoon and at one point you asked if you were keeping him from work.
âTechnically Iâm on a very important conference call Y/n..â
You could see his flirtatious smirk over the phone and your heart warmed knowing you were important enough to take up his entire day.
You didnât mind the long conversation since you've been alone for months and needed human interaction. You honestly didnât care that things were progressing way too quickly with Tristan. It beat moping around with a broken heart and wishing for Joker to return.
Tristan was a breath of fresh air and offered you a new start in your dating life. You were ready to jump all in even if it was risky.
You nodded and answered his question. âYeah ÎŁtella is perfect. Will you make the reservations for us or let me guess. You know a friend of a friend that can get us a table on short notice?â
He laughed to himself but mentioned he did have connections, âNone like that Iâm afraid.â
You could tell the connections were nothing nefarious since Tristan didnât have a single criminal bone in his body. After being around Joker for so long you could single out peopleâs evil intentions. It was one of the many habits you had to quit cold turkey.
It would take some time to purge Joker from your life but you had to. He abandoned you and you couldnât dwell on it anymore.
Tristan ended the call to make the dinner reservations. He offered to pick you up but you politely declined.
Something told you it was best to keep him far away from the apartment until you knew for certain that Joker wasnât coming back. You were still optimistic that your dark clown would return and things would go back to normal but until then, you had to fend for yourself and take care of your own needs.
A black dress was selected from your closet with a low back. It would go great with your braids and the heels you already picked out. You spent the rest of the afternoon getting ready and desperately trying to shake off your cold feet.
Halfway through your glam session, Tristan texted you with a time and a suggestive line about saving room for dessert.
It made you flush red and make a split decision to change your underwear into something more racy.
If tonight was just dinner that was okay but if Tristan turned out to be a man of action and not just all talk, then you wanted to be prepared. You could be a slut for one night. Itâs secretly what you wanted.
You twirled in the mirror and liked what you saw. A strong confident woman moving on and taking the initiative.
You liked Tristan and he made it very clear that he liked you too despite just meeting earlier in the day. He wanted to see where this could go and you readily agreed being attention and touch-starved due to Jokerâs absence.
You were ready to date again but you did stop and consider the possibilities of Joker finding out.
Joker was very possessive and he had eyes and ears all over Gotham City. It would be nothing for him to find out you were going on a date but his actions as of late showed that he didnât care anymore. Joker ignored your numerous phone calls and texts.
Each one went unanswered. It was safe to say you were single now so you would act accordingly.
But with all the guesswork floating in the air, you werenât going to think about Joker tonight. He was banned from your mind. Tonight you were going to have fun and enjoy yourself with another man and begin anew.
Tonight was about you and your needs. If Joker couldnât provide, youâd go out and find someone who could. You kept that thought in mind all the way to the restaurant.

âI still think that waiter was staring at you too much. I get it, you are stunningâ d__n, this dress will be the death of meâ but my brother. Sheâs on a date with me. Iâm the luckiest man alive!â
You tried your best to ignore his happiness and keep things cordial. The two of you had come to a stop at the main entrance to your apartment complex.
âThis is me.â You pointed to the locked door.
Tristan admired the tall white building with a nod but there was an awkward air floating between the two of you. You just wanted to go home, Tristan was expecting more from the date.
Unfortunately Tristan was terrible at reading your body language. Or maybe you were just a good actress.
âY/n did I mention how beautiful you look tonight?â It was a lame excuse to stay in your presence a little bit longer. You awkwardly laughed and dodged his hand reaching up to hold your cheek.
By all accounts dinner was textbook perfect. Tristan was ever the gentleman all night but his eyes were anything but. He listened to you talk and sprinkled in his opinions all the while complimenting you as a person.
There was a connection between the two of you and he made sure the conversation kept flowing to allow that spark to grow. Yet his eyes devoured you as if you were the main course and gave away his true intentions.
You wished his lust could ignite a flame within you; it didnât.
The food was amazing and you lost the fight on who would foot the bill. Tristan simply winked and said you could pay next time.
He was so confident that there would be a next time, you found yourself almost agreeing on another date. Everything was just so natural with Tristan. Normal was⊠nice but you longed for the unpredictable insanity that Joker brought to the table.
You shook your head in frustration. No matter how much you tried to forget about Joker, he was always in the corner of your mind, bearing down with his larger than life presence.
Even in the restaurant you felt like he was watching your every move.
You knew Jokerâs stretch of power knew no bounds. Your stomach was in knots at the thought of being discovered. Jokerâs goons could be anywhere; Joker could be seated at any of these tables ready to ruin your date, kill everyone in the vicinity, and drag you back home.
The possibilities were endless and before you knew it, you were in the early stages of a panic attack until Tristan cupped your cheek and distracted you.
Tristan was right there with his suave demeanor and sultry smirks.
âYou okay sunshine? I hope youâre not having second thoughts about the chefâs choice. If you donât like it, you can always order something else.â He smiled in the low lit room.
Any girl would fall head over heels for a man like Tristan. He was attractive, successful, and he had an air about him that was alluring. He was the perfect man, that is, if you liked boring.
Joker spoiled you for other men. You could never go back to charming businessmen or witty accountants.
You didnât want someone you could bring home to Mom. You were hooked on grease paint, cigarettes, heartache, and dark clowns that blew up hospitals for fun.
It was either before the main course or after one of Tristanâs stories about his latest project that you realized, this wasnât going to work.
You smiled through the date out of respect and waited until he walked you home to let him down softly.
Tristan was a great guy, just not for you. Even worse the guy was oblivious to the fact you werenât interested anymore.
He was unfazed by your chance in demeanor and flicked a wayward braid back over your shoulder. âIâll tell you again, you are gorgeous. I'm kinda tempted to take this dress off and see whatâs underneath. I bet sheâs beautiful too.â
He moved in to hug you while you stiffened up in his arms. His attempts at flirting were now trashy and rude in your mind.
You didnât want Tristan anymore. You wanted Jokerâs warm arms holding you closeâ although gou felt awful for still craving Tristanâs attention. It was all you had. Could beggars be choosers?
Your hands wrapped around your date against your better judgment. Youâd regret this later for sure.
Your eyes wandered around the area as you berated yourself for stringing Tristan along.
Hugging him back went against your plans of kicking him to the curb and going upstairs to sleep off this terrible date. Your citygirl plans of moving on were all for naught and you wasted perfectly good lingerie for a lame rebound date.
The street lights were on and oddly enough, it was just you and Tristan on the street. The area usually had foot traffic even at such a late hour but it didnât register in your brain as odd. It was only when Tristanâs hands moved to cup your backside that you locked eyes with a figure across the way.
He had a hood on but you saw him shaking his head at you in disappointment.
He lifted his head and your eyes widened seeing the familiar clown mask Joker always left lying around the penthouse after heists. Thatâs when dread settled in your stomach.
You forgot Joker had eyes and ears everywhere. How could you be so stupid?
He never left. You yelped and pushed Tristan away.
âWoah! Is everything okay, sunshine?â Tristan held up his hands while you began to hyperventilate on the sidewalk.
You didnât imagine things. Joker was still in your life. He was the most jealous man you ever met and you did the unthinkable and gave him a reason to be angry. You werenât safe. Tristan's life was in danger.
âI-Itâs not safe. I-I-I have to goâŠâ You rambled on.
Tristan arched an eyebrow as you stumbled over your words. He couldnât understand a word you were saying but he knew all too well what was going on here.
âI get it.â He smiled and gained your attention with his calm attitude. âI got competition, Iâm not surprised. I mean look at you! You are⊠something else.â He frowned when you continued to look away.
He hoped he wasnât being too forward but he felt the spark between the two of you.
Tristan leaned down and kissed you on the lips. It was passionate and sweet, a tad bit addictive but you were too mortified to acknowledge that aspect.
âHave a good night, Y/n. Iâll text you later.â Tristan gave you one more glance and walked away, leaving you frozen in place.
Tristan had it all wrong. There was no competition however he just signed his death certificate kissing you just then.
You were worried about your psychopathic, jealous boyfriend killing Tristan and then you for cheating. Joker had explicit rules. No one touches whatâs his.
Not only did you go on a date with someone else, you let that same man kiss you. You knew exactly what was in store for you.
Your eyes darted back across the street where you last saw the goon. They were gone and that sent icy cold fear in your veins. It was only a matter of time that Joker found out about your little tryst.
You were counting the days to your death.

You couldnât sleep to save your life.
It had something to do with the fact that you tossed and turned, gave up and paced the room back and forth, sat up expecting a phone call, text, heck; even a visit from your jealous clown all night. But nothing came.
Surely your security detail had already reported his findings to Joker.
If you opened a dictionary and searched for Jealousy, a picture of Joker would be present. It was only a matter of time before J flipped out. You kissed someone else. Joker would be livid.
The silent anticipation was the worst.
You chewed your nails to the quick expecting Joker to barge into your penthouse and go insane. Scared was an understatement. You were petrified of Jokerâs wrath.
For two days, you walked on eggshells expecting Jokerâs return. He didnât and as the days grew in number, you panicked all the more.
Tristan also ghosted your phone calls and texts and you mourned the potential romance you gave up all because you were spooked.
You didnât question what you saw that night. You knew Jokerâs gang mask by heart and Joker was overly protective for it to be some fluke. He made sure you had a security team to watch over you at all times no matter the circumstances. He would find out soon enough.
Waiting for Jokerâs arrival was driving you insane to the point that every little noise made you jump.
It was nearing a full week after your failed date when you gave up and lowered your guard. You cut your losses and decided to stop living in fear. A good nap could calm your nerves.
The remnants of the day were bleeding from the sky in warm pastels when you woke up. The room was quiet until the bathroom door opened and your eyes darted over in fear.
Joker was walking out the bathroom, already dressed in loose sweatpants and nothing else.
He was towel drying his hair but immediately locked eyes with your frightened ones once he stepped into the room.
Time stood still as your brain caught up with the moment. You werenât dreaming. Joker was actually here. You werenât ready to face him.
Granted this was not how you expected to reunite with Joker after three months of radio silence and especially after your brief moment of infidelity.
âJ-Joker⊠youâre home.â Was all you could gasp out.
He looked the same albeit a bit fatigued. He was devoid of makeup, letting you see the pure exhaustion etched on his handsome features and the unmistakable hurt swirling in his vivid green eyes.
One look therein had you self aware. Of course Joker knew. Nothing got past him.
âPlease, I-I-I can explain!! You were gone for months and I t-thought.. I thought you didnât want me anymore. That you moved on! I was such an idiot! I.. Joker that date meant nothing no matter what your henchman told youââ
Joker said your name with such a dejected tone it made the hairs on the back of your neck bristle. âY/n, shut. Up.â
Joker tossed his towel across the room and didnât care that it barely landed on the leather couch before falling to the floor.
Heâd worry about that later. His Light was on the verge of hysterics and he was not in the mood.
Joker walked over and sat on the edge of the bed. He sighed when you flinched from his touch but he cupped your brown face in his hands nonetheless.
âY/n. Calm down and look at me.â You slowly opened your eyes to glance at J. He was patiently waiting, blinking owlishly at you with an unreadable look.
You couldnât get a good read on Joker and that made you fear him more. Joker noticed and decided to go about this as plainly as possible to not scare you further. The last thing he wanted was you to fear him.
âI know about yourâŠÂ date. âM not mad at you doll, ratherâŠ. at myself for allowing it to happen. Ya see.. I never wanted to leave.â He sighed.
You blinked in confusion but let Joker continue.
âI didnât abandon you Y/n. Never. Iâll never do that. I got caught up in a errr.. pickle.. that kept me from my Light. I stayed away to protect you.â Jokerâs thumbs gently stroked your cheekbones as you looked at him in shock.
His rare genuine smile spoke volumes. âIt was toooo risky to come back soooo I stayed away. I tried to message ya but it was sabotaged andâŠ. The point is Y/n! It was not my in-tent-ions to leave you all alone. I will always come back to my Light. Believe that pretty girl.â
You felt like the biggest fool in all of Gotham. Joker was out risking his life to make it back to you and you gave up on him.
How was he not angry? It didnât make any sense.
âYou werenât there. You were gone for months and I felt so alone. I was hurt andâŠâ You tried not to get emotional but Jokerâs gentle touch and the way he stared straight into your soul with those abnormal green eyes of his was getting to you.
Jokerâs soothing touch had you breaking down in record time.
âI couldnât help myself! T-Tristan didnât mean anythiââ
In seconds Jokerâs tender hold on you turned aggressive. His hands slid down to your throat and squeezed tight before you could finish your sentence. Your startled gasp rang out in the room.
âDonât.. ever say another manâs name in front of me! Iâll kill him. Iâll do it. You. Are. Mine. You got that?â Joker waited until you croaked out a yes before loosening his grip. It was then you saw just how jealous Joker really was. His calm, cool, and collected attitude was all an act.
Underneath his exhaustion was the Jealous psychopath you knew and loved.
He sighed and let go to fuss over you. He smoothed your braids in place and nodded to himself when you were presentable and breathing properly. You were frozen in shock. He didnât even hesitate hurting you.
Jokerâs fluctuating mood was befitting his personality but it still made you wary. You eyed him sideways and Joker whined knowing you were thinking bad bad thoughts about him.
âMâsorry bunny I just⊠Argh! You just needed some attention, I. Get. It.. Iâm not angry. Iâm. Not. Hey.. ya wanna know a little secret?â You slowly nodded and Joker smiled wide before leaning in, almost as if he were to whisper in your ear.
âIt was torture for me too. All those nights spent a-parT? Mmm I was thinkinâ about you.â His fingers played with yours resting in your lap.
âReally?â You asked.
Your mind quickly forgot about his random spurt of anger a moment prior, in favor of his suggestive tone at present. Joker was here and he was finally giving you attention. What more could you ask for?
He knew you loved his hands (and he knew you were touched-starved) and made sure to keep contact with you as he spoke.
âI missed my Princess and I knoooooowââ He yawned mid sentence, â..you missed me. Câmere, my Light. I wanna hold ya.â
You hid your smile witnessing Joker be so unguarded and so unlike himself. You could tell he didnât sleep at all these past few months. Dark circles weighed down his gorgeous eyes and he literally made grabby hands at you. It was refreshing to know you werenât the only one touch-starved here.
Joker was the worldâs lightest sleeper. He could only sleep a full eight hours if he had his Bunny to cuddle up with. You had just woken up yourself but Joker needed his rest and he needed you.
You fell into his arms and he quickly maneuvered the both of you so he lied on the bed with you nestled on his side. You tossed your leg over Jokerâs hips and he held it there, rubbing his hands along your plushy thighs.
His hands became restless and began re-tracing all of your curves, (as if he could ever forget them in such a short amount of time) and came to a stop at the crown of your head. He hummed contently and left a kiss in your hair.
âIâm sorry you felt alone, Bunny. The plan wasnât supposed to take that long ân especially not months. I canât promise Iâll be able to return quickly, but I will always come back to my Light. Just⊠just donât give up on me, mkay?â
You nodded and glanced up at Joker. His eyes were closed, yet you knew his focus was solely on you. To prove your point, he opened his eyes and stared directly at you.
His emerald green eyes were drowsy but you could tell his words were sincere. His unique speech pattern was nonexistent the longer the conversation went. You had a raw and honest Joker lying beneath you.
So you decided to be honest in return.
âI promise, J. I wonât give up on you. I only want you.â
âGooooood.â He closed his eyes again and repositioned his head better on the pillows. âCuz no one touches whatâs mine. Expect your uh.. punishment later.â He yawned.
âWhat?!!â You tried to get up but Jokerâs arms tightened around you, keeping you lying atop of him. You wiggled in his grip and he growled in warning.
âJ, I thought you said you werenât mad at me!â
He didnât see you pouting, however his hand still came down hard on your thigh. The sharp sting made you yelp in shock.
âIâm. Not. But ya still need to L-earn a lesson. My bunny canât be sneakinâ off and.. playing with others while Iâm away. Tsk. Tsk. Iâll uh f__k ya when I wake up. OH! You should rest too. Heh, youâll need your energy.â
His warning hardly held any weight with the boyish grin plastered on his face. Without his clown makeup, Joker was a sight to behold.
You would prepare yourself for his tough love later. Right now you wanted to bask in Jokerâs presence.
Three months was too long without him.
You snuggled up closer to your clown and began running your fingers through his hair. He loved when you did that. He was already snoring by the time you leaned up to kiss one of his scars.
âIâm just glad you're back.â You whispered.Â
