However it wouldn’t be from eating a devil fruit. 

It would be because you survived a plague and instead of the plague killing you like everyone else, the disease manifested itself as a power.

This power allows you to decay whatever you touch with your hands.

However, the deterioration will only occur when all five of your fingers touch the target, indicating that the activation of the power is not voluntary.

You are often careful with your hands when touching objects you don’t want to destroy.

You are unable to decay non-solid matter like sand, water, etc.
