feeling a lot better today but my manager offered me the next two days off work as well so i’ve snatched that offer up. taking it easy and keeping warm but i’m going to work on queuing as many replies on here and @sunsetstained while i have the time.

nesta is breathless by the time the piece of music comes to an end, but the adrenaline is still coursing steadily in her veins and has her holding eris’ hand with just as much fervour as when he was spinning her across the floor. she guides him away from the dancefloor; further away from the prying eyes that burn their way into her back. the layout of the hewn city still evades her, but instinct kicks in and leads her to a quiet spot. her heart is hammering as she eyes him carefully, strangely concerned about his response to her upcoming words after the intimacy of their dance, but she’s tired of keeping secrets – of being a pawn. 

“ i need to apologise to you. for letting you believe that something could ever come of this. the truth is i don’t want to get married. not to anyone. not for a long time. a wife is all i was ever meant to be and now that i have the opportunity to be something more than that... i don’t want to be someone’s wife, especially not for an alliance. ” silence fills the air, even as she can hear the instruments start up again from the great hall, but when eris’ lips meet her own it’s the sound of ringing that fills her ears. she’s still at first, back rigid with the confusion and surprise, but after a few moments she lifts herself up onto her toes – returning the kiss despite the voice in her head wondering what about her words possessed him to want to kiss her.
