Light in the Dark | Kakashi x F!Reader.

Sitting on his bed, you hugged him from behind and put a small kiss on his naked shoulder. You could feel how his body tensed. He broke your embrace and stand up leaving you there.

You smiled sadly and shook your head.

“Is this the part where you kick me out?” you said while Kakashi dressed without facing you. 

You swear to keep your distance from him since he only wants you to warm his bed. But he is strong, once again you’ve failed to resist Kakashi’s actions. 

He didn’t respond. That’s your answer.

You get out of bed and started to put your clothes back on. Angry with him and with yourself. This is the last time, you said to yourself once again. 

Already dressed, you took your purse and walk off Kakashi’s bedroom and apartment leaving him alone in the dark of his room. You didn’t know but, he was punching himself for hurting you again. He tried to stop looking for you on the nights when he was feeling alone and tormented. Your love was the only thing that can warm his cold heart during his darkest hours but he know that he can’t give you what you wanted and needed in return.

Anbu's life was taking a toll on him. He was still young but in his life, he had seen and lived things that not anybody could bear. 

You were the light in the dark of his life but for everything he has been through he couldn’t risk losing you too, that’s why he keeps pushing you away. 

You always were by his side when he come back from a mission injured, you healed him, and took care of him, always with a smile on your face. 

“I love you, Kakashi” you said one night after making love with him.

When you said those words, they made him realize that this thing that you had going on was serious and scared him to death because everything he touches, dies. And he doesn't want to lose you because he loved you too.

Okay but like imagine himbo Kiba being all worried about his girlfriend when he can smell blood on her one day and the poor woman would have to explain to him that she did not in fact get injured on a mission and is just on her period.

This man would insist she’d go to see Tsunade or Sakura before the idea of menstruation would even come to his head and I’m here for it😭

It was late, the moon was your only source of light as you trudged towards your boyfriend’s apartment.

You had waved goodbye to your teammates and wished them goodnight, all whilst you had craved Kiba’s soft bed and warm embrace.

The key was nestled beneath the plant pot - the one currently devoid of life and only filled with dried earth.

Akamaru was the first to greet you - whining and licking at you as you wrestled him into the hallway.

“I missed you too buddy, but sssh - it’s late!”

You were bone tired and a little dirty but completely unharmed. You decided it was more important to sleep than shower.

Kiba groaned as you wriggled under his arm, fitting yourself against his broad chest and sighing contentedly. His musky, entirely masculine scent invaded your nose, body heat seeping into your torso in the best way possible and his lips pressed firmly against your cheek.

“Welcome home baby,” he mumbled sleepily. His arms coiled around your waist, eliminating any distance between your bodies, “you ‘kay?”

“I’m all fine now, the mission was a cakewalk. Now go back to sleep,” you whispered back.

The answering snores made you smile, he really was adorable, even if he did refuse to believe he snored.

You were exactly where you wanted to be, pulled under the surface into a blanket of warmth and love. It only took seconds for your eyes to become so heavy that it was impossible not to succumb to slumber.

You were rudely awakened to two strong hands shaking your shoulders, rolled to flat on your back as Kiba’s amber eyes loomed large. He appeared panicked as you tried to break his hold, whining and struggling to return to the warmth of the blankets he had unceremoniously ripped for you.

“What’s wrong? Where does it hurt?”

He was pulling at the t-shirt you had borrowed from his drawer, a hand smoothing over your stomach and sides. Trying to turn you to examine your back, shifting to run his gaze along your bare legs.

“Kiba!”

You were starting to get mad, what the heck was he doing? Akamaru ran in circles beside the bed as you struggled to sit up. You slapped at his hands, fighting against the way he was manhandling you and ripping you away from precious sleep.

“What the actual fuck you maniac?” you yelled, scowling at the hurt expression etched on his tanned face.

His eyebrows scrunched together, the fiery flecks of gold in his eyes sparkled in the low morning light and the tips of his fangs sunk into his lower lip. The curve of his smile was missing as he gripped your jaw in a strong palm.

“Where is your injury y/n, I need to know so I can help.”

You had no idea what he was talking about, your mission had been an escort job with absolutely no drama. The most you had succumbed to was tripping over a loose pebble and nearly faceplanting into the dirt.

“Kiba,” you tried to reason with him, “I’m not injured, I swear it to you!”

“Don’t lie, I can smell your blood. It’s so potent like it’s sitting on my tongue,” he downright bellowed.

A shiver ran up your spine, he could smell your blood?

Realisation hit you smack between the eyes, mortified beyond belief at the truth of what he sensed.

Your cheeks burned a brilliant crimson, hands lifting to hide your face as Kiba huffed through his nose. He pulled you into his lap and you tried desperately to wriggle away, scared of leaving marks on his pyjama pants.

“Stay still and explain,” he scolded.

This close up you were reminded of the cute smattering of freckles that bridged his nose, the clan markings prominent on his cheeks and the sharp angles of his jaw.

“I’m - I’m not hurt. My period has arrived, that’s all.”

His eyes widened for a second before he frowned once more. You could practically see the cogs turning in his brain, your beloved might be the sweetest, most caring guy in the world but he was not blessed with smarts.

He deposited you into the bed and covered you over with the discarded blankets before standing to his towering height.

“Akamaru, make sure y/n doesn’t leave this room. I’m going to get Sakura right now. You need treatment.”

You gaped like a fish out of water, you were being held hostage by your boyfriend and his mammoth hound because he didn’t believe your period had arrived?

He had flown from the room before you could yell and beat your fists against his chest. Kiba was a damn idiot and you expected that Sakura would beat the shit out of him for this… but what could you do?
