I got an idea... It's old school as fuck but hear me out.

When The CW tried to cancel Roswell back in 2001, fans of the show sent thousands of letters and bottles of Tabasco sauce (favoured by the alien characters of the show) to the network's headquarters, AND THEY GOT ANOTHER SEASON.

What if we sent Netflix salt water taffy? All of us. They would drown in the stuff.

We would literally be using a canonically-approved form of payment to "buy" a new season.

I have no idea how to boost this and make it happen.

I like playing with the angst of Charles developing new anxieties after s1 regarding knowing where Edwin is at all times, soo

Charles, with Crystal's help, plans a date to confess to Edwin and lure Edwin to Charles' chosen spot (a rooftop that's way nicer than theirs) but keep it a surprise, he asks him to "bring some candles from the office because he's setting something up"

Like the good friend he is, Edwin goes to deliver the candles but sees Charles and Crystal together, in something that clearly looks like a set up for a date

The sight stabs him right in the heart, even though he really wants to be happy for Charles. He also thinks he must have been late with his help, since Crystal is already there, so he decides not to interrupt them (and maybe doesn't want to show his face in case something other than support slips through in his expression)

Edwin leaves the candles on the stairs leading up to the roof and removes himself from the lovely scene before him

When Charles goes to check whether Edwin might be coming soon, he notices the candles are there, but very much without the boy who was supposed to bring them

He calls out Edwin's name and tries not to worry when he receives no answer, because surely Edwin has to be somewhere nearby, right? Surely, he couldn't have been snatched from right under Charles' nose again?

And yes, Charles spends the next hour or so frantically searching for Edwin and losing his mind (not again, please not again) only to find him sitting peacefully on their rooftop and reading

He basically tackles Edwin to the ground and can't stop a few tears from running down his cheeks. His carefully planned confession flies out the window, replaced by desperate affections pressed into the crook of Edwin's neck, while Edwin holds him close

This is a bit similar to this idea (which is a fic now<3), but what can I say, I like the tropes that I like! "What if this thing I love was exactly the same, but just slightly different" is fun!!
