PIT BABE | Ep 11
michaelkvs IG story - October 6, 2023
charlie and jeff being brothers might be my favourite part of pit babe and we get such a clear insight into their dynamic so early in the show.

from the get go, charlie knows that jeff can and will think and do for himself. and it frustrates him.

and jeff exhibits incredible younger brother behaviour - he knows he's in trouble, but he also knows that he's never really in trouble with charlie. he can get away with whatever he wants.

and charlie, knowing this, turns to his fail safe: 'why didn't you tell me first?'. which jeff has an immediate answer for:

we also get further confirmation that yes, charlie has a plan; there's a bigger picture that he's working toward and jeff wants to help him achieve it.

but charlie doesn't really want jeff's help. he wants to keep his little brother safe. he's spent years of his life protecting jeff and keeping him away from tony, and the knowledge that jeff has to get close to it again wrecks him. it's not just that he doesn't want jeff involved, it's that charlie wants to keep him as much out of harm's way as possible. unfortunately for him, jeff is equally as protective of charlie.

jeff is quick to remind charlie that they're in this together. as a returning audience we know a few things that add to the weight of this moment: both charlie and jeff are tony kids, so any issue surrounding the chen foundation automatically includes the two of them. additionally, we know about jeff's powers. we know that the whole reason charlie is even there is because jeff has visions of what's about to happen. without jeff, charlie would have no grand plan to begin with.

so they come to an uneasy truce: jeff stays and charlie waits. jeff needs to be involved: he needs some semblance of control over the situation and he needs to make sure his brother is okay, that he isn't in over his head. charlie is too invested in his mission by this point to withdraw, and although he hates it, knows jeff has a point. with jeff by his side, they have the curse of foresight and for better or worse, they'll need it to get through what's to come. and charlie knows he might not be able to protect jeff, not with his attention focused on babe.

peat gives off such a regina george vibe thats why he was perfect for tongrak. hope to see more of him like that
