after joking around with @revenyance we had the idea of the gnarpians in regretevator being able to converse by illuminating their whiskers in different patterns for when they’re out of earshot or in he prescence of ‘lesser’ species and I couldn’t help myself from making it with some basic examples

Anyway, nobody will ever be able to convince me that Murder Time Trio are not all bug boys. And by that I mean that they absolutely all have a fixation with bugs, except it's a slightly different niche for all of them.

Like, Horror absolutely adores ladybugs, bees, lacewings and other bugs that are similarly useful for agricultural purposes. They're efficient, helpful, and hard working critters, which is part of the reason why he vibes so hard with them. (They're a source of hope, you know? A sign that life can maybe prosper yet again with some help. Maybe even in the collapsing AU he's been forcefully taken from. Maybe with so many little helpers crops could finally grow again).

Dust has a very specific favorite, and it's: Japanese rhinoceros beetles. They were the most commonly used insects for bug fights. And, you know, buddy kinda admires the determination and kinda relates to the struggle. Those are his special little guys. (Being trapped in a game, made to fight over and over again, being left with seemingly no option but to kill, those are all very familiar things for him).

Killer especially likes butterflies, moths, and all the most colorful kinds of beetles. They're a reminder of the one person that feels like home to him. His only true safety net. Butterflies are also a way for him to acknowledge that there is beauty in fragile things. And that they deserve to live happy free and unharmed even with their weakness. (Something he doesn't acknowledge for himself to avoid the risk of recognizing the abuse he's gone through).
