When Inv did what they felt they had to in order to protect Saint, and ended up forcing them to murder Sliver if Straw?

This comic has a lot of weight lore wise, so it’s rambling time!

Saint making the decision not to ascend Sliver, saying they’d rather face whatever Bountiful would do to them for disobeying her than take a life, was really big. Saint was standing their ground, something they almost never did. They stood by their refusal to kill Sliver, and were ready to accept the consequences.

But Inv wasn’t ready to see Saint accept the consequences. Inv ignored Saint completely, disregarding Saint’s autonomy for the sake of protecting them from the outcomes of their own decisions, regardless of what Saint determined was right for themself.

Inv decided that they knew better.

They possessed Saint, even though the last thing Saint said before Inv took control was begging them not to. They killed Sliver, using Saint to do so, since the ascension ability was required. But, because of how the possession works, Saint was still there. They were just forced to helplessly watch Sliver die to their own hands, as if they were the one to kill her. This seriously messed with their mental health. As I’ve said before, permanently taking a life is very damaging to a person’s psyche if they never wanted or intended to.

It’s hard to say if Inv made the right choice or not. Bountiful absolutely would have hurt Saint if they hadn’t killed Sliver, and probably pretty badly. But Inv, in trying to do what they thought was right, also hurt Saint. Not only did they give Saint some extra trauma, but they denied Saint one of their only attempts at making a choice for themself, controlling them just like Bountiful.

Last year, during an atmospheric river (fuck ton of rain) I was sitting inside and I got this really weird feeling- a YOU NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE RIGHT NOW feeling. So I left my house (generally a bad idea in a storm like this), and waded out onto my road. It was pouring and really windy, but my road was only like, half a foot deep under water so I wasn’t too worried about the flooding yet. I turned back to look at my house and right at that second as I skillfully dodged flying branches, I watched a tree jump into the air, do a little spin, and then fall on my house.

It was a crazy sixth sense feeling- like I had no good reason to leave the safety of my house during the start a goddamn flash flood, but for some reason I felt very strongly that I needed to get out of there.

(For the sake of not doxxing myself I won’t show my house, but have some very cropped and blurry photos bc I want to prove that I’m telling the truth lmao)

Anyways, I was home alone, so I splish-sploshed my way to my friends house and chilled there. Then I panicked bc I didn’t know where my cat was, so me and my friend went back outside and got to my house (at that point we might as well have been swimming lol). We found my cat hiding in the basement thankfully, so we left again, but on our way back we ended up trying to help our neighbour because her house was flooding. So we were standing in almost waist deep water, armed with rakes trying to unclog her storm drain. That was a crazy day lol

If I had to think of one, and it isn’t even a fungus let alone a mushroom, I dislike the water mold (a type of fungus-like protist) Phytophthora infestans.

What are these guys? My location is southwestern Canada, these were found in the morning after some rain, they look gray with black edges. I tried to get multiple angles. Any ideas?

Quick Question: Tips for writing Sibling Arti?

I know I've not been with the blog since the start, and I've not scrolled back all the way, so I think I've missed some of her personality and it's giving me a bit of a struggle to write her. (I so badly want to do this though)

Okay so Arti personality!!! I’m basing this off of the actual written story, not the ask blog, because I did a better job of sticking to their set personalities and vocabularies in my writing

Uhhh anyways I’m not 100% sure how to help so ima just. List off a few personality traits and hope that’s what you want lol

She’s pretty impulsive. She doesn’t think before she speaks or acts very much. (Arti has a lot of regrets because of this.) She tends to be rude and snappy when she talks and does swear a fair bit. She’s stubborn, and likes to act big and tough and scary so people don’t really try to get close to her. (She does have a soft spot or two though). She is very protective of the people she likes. She would straight up murder anyone who threatened Gourmand (or Saint), and then get embarrassed when she was forced to admit that maaayyybbbeeee she actually cares about them a tiny bit.

She has a messed-up internalized thought or two, namely the “being weak is bad” and the “it’s okay to hurt people” ones. Both of those come from how she was raised, and being encouraged to bully Hunter. She doesn’t entirely realize that it’s wrong to think that way yet, but she does have a few notions and is starting to develop that little thing I like to call empathy.

Okay so you like. Hold your can sideways and then stab a hole in the side with car keys or something. Then ya kinda just put your mouth on the hole you stabbed and tilt the can up, then pull the tab open and chug it really fast. Would not recommend shotgunning a Monster if it’s your first time cause the cans are bigger then average. Also maybe don’t try it with alcohol on your first go. And definitely, for the love of god, don’t try this with a bubly or some gross carbonated water thing. You will throw up. The first drink I ever shotgunned was a crush cream soda lmao, wouldn’t have it any other way

It’s kinda hard to explain how to do it, maybe like, watch a youtube tutorial or something. There’s probably a wiki how somewhere about this lmfao. I personally was taught how to shotgun a drink by my brother, it makes a lot more sense when you have a demonstration lol
