unpopular opinion: there is nothing attractive about rafe cameron.

i mean, if you’re into guys that literally shoot black cops willy nilly and try to murder their sister because he can’t function without cocaine & daddy’s money & approval, then yeah — he’s a perfect character for you.

he’s annoying as fuck, irresponsible as fuck, and isn’t a likeable character in the slightest.

i am simply saying he’s not attractive — addressing the people that sexualize him & fantasize about him.

this has nothing to do with drew starkey — he’s a phenomenal actor and deserves so many awards for his role as rafe.

i hate that there’s a shit ton of people sexualizing RAFE instead of holding him responsible for his actions. mental health problems or not — it was his choice to do the cocaine, his choice to shoot peterkin, and his choice to try and kill his sister. he’s 19. not a child, so i’m not going to treat him like one.

people like rafe want to feel like they’re in control, like they’re important in some way. that’s most likely why he started doing the drugs in the first place, to feel like he had control over an aspect of his life that ward didn’t. if someone like that is forced into rehab, when they get out, they’ll go back to it in order to show that they are in control. rehab has to be their choice, or else it won’t work.

yeah, he keeps saying he’s gonna get clean, become better, yadayadayada — those are just words. he’s still hitting up barry’s place, still doing cocaine, still funneling further into the junkie hole that is very difficult to get out of.

so, until rafe actually sees the problem, acknowledges the problem, and stops running from responsibility — he is not a good character in my eyes.
