IMO Pro-fiction Is Actually The More Appropriate Terminology For Pro-shipping These Days With The Current
IMO pro-fiction is actually the more appropriate terminology for pro-shipping these days with the current stipulations and values and definitions all lumped in under the umbrella of pro-shipping.
This is not to say that pro-shipping has lost its meaning or is redundant, but I do feel at this point its expanded beyond a simple evolution and its become something different entirely. Over time its absorbed the values of pro-fiction despite them evolving symbiotically.
I'm still going to maintain the label of pro-shipping, but I think these days pro-fiction would more accurately represent the values that I have beyond the scope of simply referring to ships and fandom-oriented spaces.

It is actually so fucking insufferable that these days you can't make a statement about something without also having to have a mile-long footnote in which you acknowledge every single possible nuance to it because otherwise the reception will be full of indignant outrage-fuelled arguments and people forcibly expanding what you said to include things that are completely irrelevant to the scope of the original point.
I'm so sick of antis and their arguments. "But predators read this!" Yes, and? I'd rather a thousand predators read kinky fanfiction about people who don't exist, no matter their ages, than even one real, living child get hurt.
This is actually a point I do find myself having to present constantly to antis who are convinced that it is solely fanfiction and fandom spaces that enable predators.
Completely setting aside the fact that literature and creative activities are used in therapy and allocated as victimless outlets, if someone has the increased risk factor of committing a crime, they are going to do it regardless of stimuli.
Psychology will tell you that if the fixation is there, if the intent is there, action is an inevitability.
Actual child rapists have, in the past, admitted that something as simple as a back to school clothing advert has prompted them to attack a child.
If we do magically cleanse the earth of fanfiction, do you know what will happen?
Predators will still exist. Predators will still find stimuli. Predators will still have their own enclosed spaces where they'll create and share stimuli.
And because I know the more fanatical antis will read this and immediately decide and declare that I condone predators and pedophilia:
No. I do not. But I do have a realistic understanding of the way things work in life. I do not hide and pretend I live in a magical world where predators will simply cease to exist if I get rid of anything and everything I deem to sustain them.
They will not.
And circling back to the point the anon makes, yes, I would absolutely prefer that if fanfiction helps a person to find a healthy and safe outlet for their urges and desires, they read the fucking fanfiction.
Fictional characters do not exist, will never exist, and are not in any form equitable to real life people. "If you can do these things to fictional characters you could do them to real people" is quite literally the stupidest argument that absolutely any sociologist or psychologist could tear into nanoparticles in about two seconds flat.
Predators exist in every single space. They have never needed one specific community or space in order to cause harm or source victims, and they never will. Its like a hydra; if you cut off one means they will find another. There are dangerous predators in the anti community just as much as there are those in the proshipping one, but hat's also a fact that antis love to pretend doesn't exist.
Also. Antis love to say "you're retraumatizing yourself". A) I'm not. And B) so what if I was? Even if I was using fiction as a way to self harm, it still wouldn't be any of their fucking business because it doesn't affect them or anyone else at all
"You're traumatizing yourself!" as if people don't watch scary movies all the time. As if the news isn't consistently full of rape and mass murder and the extensive horrors of humanity. As if you're genuinely hard pressed to find media these days which doesn't in some form blindside you with drugs, sexual assault, casual violence, stalking and an entire pick'n'mix of other traumatizing subjects.
They also need to stop equating temporary emotional distress to deep-rooted trauma. They are not the same thing.
Pretending you are getting interviewed about the fanfiction you just read that you really enjoyed is a great way to create a low-effort structure for commenting if you want to leave a detailed comment but don't really know where to start or how to structure it.
Abdallah is an under appreciated hero in Palestine doing everything he can to care for and feed the animals around him.

Despite the horrible situation the Palestinian people are in, so many of them are taking care of animals just as much as their fellow humans. If you have anything to give, please consider donating to his PayPal and help him care for these innocent beings.

If you are unable to donate then please PLEASE reblog and share. He is a very kind soul and grateful for all the support he gets

He genuinely does everything he can for them, do at least the bare minimum for him.
