Everyone deadpans. They are staring at him with the classic "really?" look.

But then the real Creator starts laughing. Cyno looks smug as hell, because everyone knows that the Creator loves his jokes. Everyone hates his jokes even more now (even though he saved the day with them)

Congrats, the amount of jokes he makes has now tripled

it’s early in the morning when lyney wakes up—a habit he developed from being a fatuus.

however, you on the other hand, were sleeping as soundly as ever.

the sun is beaming throughout his room, illuminating all the small crevices of your face for only him to see. light flows around the entire room, but it mainly seems to be focusing on you.

his finger lightly brushed the apple of your cheek as you calmly sleep. it moves throughout your face, from tracing your cheek to tracing your jawline. and then—lyney gets too carried away with himself—his finger brushes your bottom lip carefully, making sure not to wake you.

you still for a while, until you don’t. you turn your body to face lyney.

“stop that,” you mumble.

lyney jumps back, partially because: one, he didn’t know you were awake, and two, you moved and your eyes were still closed.

lyney goes to apologize, but you cut him off, “the bunnies need to go in the hat.”

um, what?

lyney shifts himself closer to you, watching as your eyelids dart back and forth. your hands are slightly moving as well, almost as if they’re trying to grab something.

“get back in here,” you slur, still making grabbing motions with your hands. “lyney is gonna be mad if you don’t get back in the hat.”

oh? so you’re dreaming about him?

lyney can’t help but smirk to himself. you’re dreaming about him. throughout his entire life, lyney never imagined himself being dreamed about. in all honesty, he never imagined himself having someone that would dream about him, at all.

yet, here you are. lyney wonders to himself: what is he doing in your dream? is he berating you for letting the bunnies go? he hopes that isn’t the case, since lyney couldn’t even imagine himself raising his voice at you. did he let the bunnies go himself?

he raises a hand to touch you again, but this time, you catch his wrist in your hands. did you wake up? how could you do that without even opening your eyes?

“got you,” lyney could hear the satisfaction in your voice. he knows you’re referring to the bunnies, but he would like to think that you’re referring to him.

“you got me,” lyney quietly smiles. you’ve got me always. lyney uses his free hand to brush over your features once again, simply admiring the lovely sight that was next to him in bed. it’s still marveling how he’s managed to get someone like you.

he gently moves your head—it’s a small move, so small and so light that you’re still fast asleep—and he takes his time to fully soak in your light. the sun is still shining over you. even when sleeping, you still look radiant.

lyney sighs. you say that you got him, but really, he got you (somehow). he feels as though he was yours before you were ever his. lyney plants a small kiss on the corner of your lips before he shufles back into bed with you.

“lyney?” you groggily move. uh oh. this time, lyney has a feeling you’re actually awake.

your hand is still on his wrist, yet the grip feels looser than it did before. however, before you could let go, lyney holds your hand in place.

“shh,” lyney gently strokes your eyebrow, “it’s all dream,” he assures you.

lyney smiles as he watches your eyes flutter shut, and as you inch closer to him when you fall asleep. you’re resting on his shoulder now, your warm engulfing him in all the best ways.

he cannot wait to remind you of this dream when you wake up.

It had been a week since you had seen xiao. You had gone on an adventure to Fountaine for a suddenly scheduled commission and hadn't had the chance to say goodbye in person , resorting to a hastily written letter left on the Wangshu Inn balcony under a plate of " apology tofu" .

You hummed a tune you had learned from a bard in Fountaine as you walked up the stairs of the inn , waving and Verr Goldet and returning her greetings. " Xiao!" you half yelled , calling out to your favorite adeptus . You looked around the balcony , finding noone . Not a trace of the yaksha. Sighing in disappointment u leaned over the railing of the balcony , relaxing your shoulders ,glass bottles clinking together in your backpack.

A soft woosh was heard behind you and you immediately perked up " Xiao!" you grinned . "You called? " he said , his voice had a new edge to it , he was looking directly at you , there was something soft in his eyes . " Did u miss me?" you asked , taking off your backpack and leaving it on the ground , taking a few steps closer to xiao. He didn't move away , instead he looked away " you left a note" he said , trying to dismiss your accusations unsuccessfully. " mhm and i kept my promise! i brought you some stuff! " you said , reaching for your backpack.

He took the box from you and inspected it , his joy at the gift was thinly veiled , but enough to slip past your detection. " Thank you " he whispered softly , you barely heard it but you looked at him with slight shock ."what?" . " Thank you " he said slightly louder , refusing to meet your eyes as he put the bracelet on his wrist . When he finally looked up from his hands , in what felt like ages , your eyes met. The silence between you both felt like it stretched on for years , tension thick as your both began to subconsciously move closer to eachother. He suddenly cleared his throat and looked away , disappearing into a cloud of green and black, leaving you there , confused.

You took out a single bottle of Fonta and a small velvet box , holding the bottle out to him with a smile . He just looked at it , confused," i have no need for mortal-"

" shut up and take it ."

" excuse me?"

" i brought it for you , try it ?" you asked , trying to convince him with sparkles in your eyes. He felt himself start to relent.

" no"

" Xiaooo" You whined slightly

" no" he looked away , slight pink dusting his cheeks at this point.

" please?" you said , moving slightly to be in his line of sight. He sighed in fake annoyance. " Fine. Just a sip though" He said , taking the bottle from you and taking a small sip.

" sooo?" You asked , excited to know his response.

" its..it is bearable" he said taking another sip from it , to your obvious delight.

Now that he had tasted the Fonta , you held out the velvet box with slight nervousness that he caught onto . "Well , there is this too , its a bracelet..I found the pearls when i went diving" You smiled tentatively ,opening the box to reveal a bracelet and awaiting his response. " A bracelet?" he breathed , " yea I... they're transoceanic pearls " you said , the pit in your stomach growing slightly at his lack of expressions did he not like it? .

The next time you saw him , it was 2 days later , on an expedition in Dihua Marsh. His face was slightly red as he approached you . " I made you...an adepti amulet.." his voice wavering very slightly " It is to ward off evil" . You smiled , accepting the gift , " Thank you Xiao" . " Its for your hair " he said , watching you as you put it on , his cheeks growing warmer by the second. Your smile grew as you saw his hand , clutching his spear . He was wearing your bracelet.
