After drawing Astarion as a Chibi, I had the urge to draw Karlach as well. Drawing and Linearting Karlach was a literal nightmare as I tried to be accurate with her outfit but also simplify it enough so that it will work for the chibi in the end). Coloring her however was the most like coloring inside a coloring book and it was super relaxing. :)

A few days ago I sat on my desk in the middle of the night and wondered "What would the Powerpuff Girls look like if they were a girl group. What would be their aesthetic, what would be their role?"

This was the main inspiration for this project. Right now I'm still in the iteration phase and trying to figure out their outfit.

For Blossom: I wanted to explore a femine yet cool look, given that her personality is almost like a big sister in this group.

For Bubbles: I took a lot of inspiration from Harajuku Fashion.

For Buttercup: I wanted to explore a more boyish look for her, given that she is quite a rebell. Main inspiration came from the dance and skater scene and try to find a way to marry those two within a design, scratched it in the last design though and went full skatermode.

Some concept illustration for my personal project "The Adventure of Maho".

I imagined the style of Cell shaded characters meeting a painterly background to capture a nostalgic feeling. Lately I've using a lot of 3D Blockouts for my work and it is helping me a lot. Especially in terms of figuring out proper lightning. So far the Blue Sky phase for this project is coming along. I thought of turning the cat into a regular character too. What do you guys think?
