100% agree, on top of that, contributing to ruining Steve’s character arc and taking him out of character: when Steve goes back in time and chooses to stay there, he has the knowledge that Bucky is not only alive but also somewhere in Russia being tortured and brainwashed by Hydra - I wholeheartedly believe that Steve would’ve searched for Bucky to rescue him to save him from all the pain and trauma that was going to be done to him - because, you know, they’re best friends. The outcome for Steve’s character in Endgame completely invalidates all the character development in Winter Soldier and CACW and is kind of a slap in the face to the character’s friendship, the directors/writers prioritised Tony’s and Steve’s friendship and in my opinion it’s a pretty big betrayal.

In addition to this, if Steve had rescued Bucky when he went back in time, following the MCU timeline, this would of prevented the murder of Tony Stark’s parents, saving the messy conflict that was Civil War (someone else already commented on the whole Sokovia Accords stuff so I’m not gonna repeat what’s already been covered). It also would of given way more opportunities to introduce the other characters to not only the original avengers but also to one another in a believable way instead of just banding them all together for “an epic battle” - there were so many different outcomes and possible character dynamics they could’ve explored (I stan Wanda and Dr. Strange, Carol Danvers and Natasha, and Peter Parker and Shuri - think of the friendship dynamics they could’ve explored!) the writers/directors also would’ve been able to tie up any loose plots *cough cough Bruce and Natasha’s romance cough cough*. Back to the former though, by preventing Bucky’s future as the Winter Soldier and as a result preventing the deaths of Tony’s parents and thus the shoddy plot of Civil War, this would’ve completely changed the outcome of Infinity War, as Bucky’s role in the actual battle didn’t have a huge impact regardless (compared to Thor for example) and the whole team would have remained together instead of separating and therefore would of had a better chance at defeating Thanos (don’t even get me started on my theory about Wanda and Dr. Strange - imagine the power those two have together, imagine what they could learn from and teach one another - they were one of the few characters who stood a decent chance against Thanos).

Anyways I know some of the stuff I’ve proposed doesn’t align with what happens in the comics, but it’s a fun theory regardless, and I think it’s good to discuss :)

I still think about her; she who could’ve been the best thing to happen to the MCU and to Steve Roger’s story

Instead I got another Tony Stark film cause they wanted to make money

why you should keep writing your story

because it’s a puzzle no one else will ever arrange the same way as you.

because there are ideas that simply won’t come to you until you write down the wrong words.

because all the bad scenes are the bones of the wonderful scenes.

because someone will love it: someone will read it once, and twice, and thrice; someone will ramble to you about the complexity of it; someone will doodle your characters out of love; someone will find it in exactly what they were looking for with or without knowing it.

because they have things to say, your characters. they’ve told you all those secrets and they have more to tell you, if you will listen.

because you love it even when you don’t; even when it drives you mad or when it accidentally turns into apathy; even when you think you’re doing it all wrong; you love it, and it loves you back.

because you can get a treasure even from things that go wrong; because if a story crumbles down you can build a shinier one on the same spot; because you won’t know where it will take you until it takes you there.

To Tired Writers. To the people out there whose hearts very, very much want to write and work on WIPs, but who are just mentally and physically exhausted right now. It’s okay. It is okay to rest sometimes. Allow yourself time to rest.
