Messaging People For The First Time Is So Hard. What Am I Supposed To Say? Like, "You Seem Really Odd
Messaging people for the first time is so hard. What am I supposed to say? Like, "You seem really odd and your blog intrigues me. Do you want to have philosophical conversations or perhaps talk about fictional characters?" What! Whatever. I will just follow you back and stare at your blog with my big beautiful brown eyes.

It's very tragic to watch but I do appreciate that Ai is shown to have PTSD and is terrified of the Org. I like when we get to see them be so human in response to something scary.
I also like how Shinichi's voice was soft when he asked her what was wrong as to not overstimulate her anymore than he already has with touching her suddenly.

I adore their relationship. He immediately goes on the defensive for her, especially because he had just been reassuring her that she's fine only for it to be disproven immediately.
He just wants her to be safe.
Looking a little creepy there, Rumi.
Awww, Ai didn't even need to ask Shinichi to look for it.

And he understands how important this is to her.

Mitsuhiko, it's because he's already one of the girls, he doesn't know that it comes across another way. Don't worry though, he's not at all interested in them. He's too busy being fascinated by a phantom thief to like girls.
AWWWW T-T Shinichi is prying for information on Akemi so Shiho can learn how her sister was seen by others and what she was like when she was a child. HE'S SO KIND.
So Akemi was a good painter and she was intelligent too! It's nice to learn about her.
Shinichi is suspicious~
And he's figured out everything too.
Gosho. I am BEGGING you. Create a realistic timeline.

HE'S SO ANGRY ON BEHALF OF AKEMI T-T And for Ai, who doesn't deserve to hear such slander against her sister.
Akemi was such a lovely soul.
Shinichi, don't be so cruel to Ai T-T Now is not the time to be messing with her.
Akemi to Ai: Fly like a silver bullet
Me: So does that mean you're no longer going to keep removing her from the plot, Gosho? Please?
Shinichi, when has Ai EVER imagined it. Gosho, why are you making Shinichi ignore the clues he should have already noticed T-T

I'm watching ep 1118 - Girls Day Mystery 2 and it's so cute! I hope they make more eps like these. Haibara looks so adorable with the dogs <3
Man. I've been binging Detective Conan for the last month or so and what's fascinating to me about it is how since it's a 30 year old series during one of the times of the most extensive technological advances within the last 200 years. You can see the way the cases are affected by the advancement of technology as well, it's crazy.
Early episodes had things like floppy discs and voice mail machines be key pieces of evidence, what did it matter if Shinichi showed his face a time or two? That could be smoothed over with just asking those present to not talk about it. Phones were evidence mainly because of who called but not too much else. The biggest clues for the black org were a floppy disc with a diary on it and a code based on dial sounds on a flip phone.
Now? Shinichi shows his face even once and it gets on a photo, it's *all* over because that's how the internet works! Evidence on phones now includes extensive camera history, and being able to see with a zoom on a phone camera. These are all cases that couldn't work early on because these things weren't even around in the early days or wouldn't be as big!
It's such a cool demonstration about how technology affects mystery stories, and how it changes as time goes on! I know some people find the slow pace of the story annoying (I don't blame them) but I find it fascinating just what that does to the narrative being told and how much technology plays into murder mysteries.
This also just a few examples regarding what's commonly discussed as advances, but they have so many other things they refer to in the series as new advances in forensics that have such an impact. I'd love to write an actual essay on this concept, not just with Detective Conan but mystery stories as a whole and this impact.
